5 of 5 User Friendly Utility Radio Monday, April 13, 2009 T.W.S. from Ida, MI
Most other work site utility radios require the use of power tool specific batteries which are costly and make no sense unless you own other products of that specific brand using the same battery. This one does not. With the purchase of an automobile DC jack cord from Radio Shack, and six alkaline D batteries, this is the ultimate utility radio. Between the AC cord and the DC jack, one should not have to use too many batteries. Play time on the batteries is surprisingly long anyway. The single large sized six inch plus large speaker has great fidelity even when played loudly. In this case mono is better. Great for plugging an I-Pod into. Manual tuner is sensitive and easier to use outside than an electronic tuner. Was this review helpful?

Advertised as rugged and it is as advertised. Very easy to use.
Good radio reception on both bands. Cool yellow color. I took it to the beach, got sand on it, rinsed it off with a hose and it handled it all like a trooper. I really like this radio. I even bought one for my future son-in-law. Was this review helpful?
