Love this shower radio. Wasn't sure it would be worth the price. Once I used it I was convinced it was. Much clearer reception than my previous Sony. It is easy to program, has a great design, and most of all the quality of the sound is excellent. Overall a welcome addition to my shower experience. Was this review helpful?

Good reception, decent speaker that can get very loud without rattling or buzzing like cheaper models. Water-resistance is perfect for the shower or steam room, etc. Can't complain! Was this review helpful?

I bought this Sangean shower radio to replace my latest Sony. The blue plastic cover on top of the Sony cracked through letting water seep in and causing the radio to malfunction. That was the 3rd Sony shower radio I've owned and all developed the same problem over the years. [The tuning was strong which is why I kept buying the Sony, and I didn't know Sangean had a shower radio]. This Sangean is top rate in every regard. The tuning is even better than the Sony. FM and Am stations are very difficult to get ckearly in my neighborhood but they all come in great even with the wire antenna wrapped up inside the back compartment. This Sangean is much more waterproof than the Sony. Was this review helpful?

After looking all over for a replacement to my last Jensen shower radio, I read some of the reviewes on this product. It is every bit as good as advertised, even if it is a little bit pricey. It mounted easily in the shower, is exceptionally easy to operate versus some of the Jensen products I have owned to date. The D cell batteries are lasting so much longer than the AA batteries in my former shower radios. I can now say this was worth the extra money, as I expect it is going to last a very long time! A nice radio with way stronger reception than my last Sony Shower radio. Has some nice features and plays loud enough. If I was to critique it a tad and really its very good I would try to include a bass port on the back somehow. All shower radios lack even moderate bass output and I think you should be able to push the FM button and get a whole new series of FM presets like my car does. this is a no cost to anyone feature that would give customer to have at least 10 presets in each band.. Its also a little thick so it sticks out a lot depending on where you mount it. Right now this is the best thing out there... Was this review helpful?

Performance is great and sound is good for a small speaker.
Pulling in FM stations that I could not get before.
Digital tuning with memory is great. Also, holding down tuning
button and radio will seek the next station. I surf stations,
depending on the time of day, and being able to tune by memory

5 of 5 Best Bathroom Radio I've ever had Tuesday, March 25, 2008

Great reception. Was able to clearly pull in NY City station from Rochester, NY just before sundown. Usually I have to wait till a couple hours past sundown to have a chance. Well built (though the handle broke straight out of the box, I really don't need it). It is a solid radio, and we've been through 6. We had an OK radio for 5 years, but left it in the park. We went through 5 in the last 6 months trying to find one that even so much as worked. This radio is not cheap, but it is well worth the $$. I don't expect we will need to buy a new radio for a long time. You can hang it from the strap, set it on the window sill (with no risk of falling), set it on the tub, with out worrying if it falls in. It also comes with a wall mount that I will set up near the one outlet which is with in reach of the shower, and get an adapter from radio shack for $15 and save on batteries.
On Amazon some people said it didn't have a great speaker. I don't know what they were comparing it to, maybe their $1000 stereo. It is easily the best speaker of any of the bathroom radios we've had.
Another feature I like is that if you hold the on button, it will set it to auto-off mode. I don't have to worry about forgetting to turn it off when I'm running around in the morning. The preset buttons make it much easier for me to switch stations quickly, and I don't have to dry my hands off first.
You can't go wrong with this radio. You can get cheaper, but when your done replacing your other radios for the 3rd you might be ready for this. Or you can save yourself the hassle. Was this review helpful?
