Sangean DT-220A AM / FM Stereo Pocket Radio

I really like this TV / Radio. I take it with me everywhere. Doesn't come with AC adapter and I don't like having to rely solely on batteries so I ran by Radio Shack and picked up a power cord for home and for my car. :) It works just fine in my car too.

The radio works well and has nice extras like an earphone that stores inside the body of the unit. I wish my iPod could do that! My only nit is that programming is not that easy. It would be nice if the radio could scan all the frequencies and automatically remember the ones with the best reception. That would make the radio easier to use when traveling to a new location.

In replacing portable am/fm radio, found choices in local retail stores slim to non-existant. Probaby because of all the ipod, phone, etc. options for music these days. Bought one at Radio Shack but had NO reception on majority of stations. Did research and found the Sangean DT-220V AM/FM Stereo with TV Digital Audio Synthesized Pocket Radio. More money than I wanted to spend but worth every penny. I can get all radio stations just about anywhere. The digital pre-programmed stations is what makes it the best - no adjusting dial to switch between stations. It does have a TV band from 1 to 13 but in our area, that means only get 1 station. Size and sound make it very portable. I take to work and bring back home to use in bathroom when getting ready in morning.

This Sangean is well built, has good sound for its size. Easy to select functions and stations. I am the type of person who is willing to spend more for a quality device. This Sangean is it. Perfect radio for my intended use.
