| | | The ultimate pocket radio. Many said it would be impossible to improve on its predecessor the DT-200V but the DT-200X has achieved that goal. The DT-200X compares favorably to many desktop AM/FM radios having great selectivity and responsiveness and picks up stations in areas where no other radio could. Drift free reception provided through its PLL synthesized circuitry. The 19-band memory and memory seeker makes it easy to tune in, and the large LCD display makes it easier to see. Select from 19 station presets and/or put your favorite into My Favorites to allow rapid access. Listen through the built-in speaker or the supplied earphones. Forgot to turn it off? No worries, the optional 90 minute auto shut off will save your batteries. This is the pocket radio that has it all.

5 of 5 Best Reception portable around Monday, November 16, 2009 Tom G. from Fremont CA
The reception on this and most Sangean radios will never disapoint.Inside buildings or in fringe reception areas you will always get your station. The Clock and backlight are very cool touches as well as the now disarmable 90 minute timer.Battery life is amazing. Audio guality on headphones is excellent, on built in speaker good. Memory settings are intuitive.
Thought it would have obsolete analog tv audio but has added fm memories instead (good thing). Can not think of any negatives on the Sangean dt 200x Was this review helpful?
1 of 1 customers found this review helpful. 4 of 5 Quality small radio Monday, March 30, 2009 Paul from Washington, DC
Digital tuning makes a difference bringing in weaker stations and preventing drift. I like the ability also to get TV audio. Speaker is okay--downsides are no option to use external power and no built in antenna--you have to use a wire plugged into the earphone plug. Overall, I am happy with the purchase because it is lightweight and quality for travel. Was this review helpful?

I use a small radio to fall asleep at night.
I've used the Sangean radios for about ten years and love them. This model has an additional feature that earlier ones don't have... a lighted background and a clock.
It has 19 presets and an automatic sleep function where it will always turn off 90 minutes after turning on. It has a built in speaker and also comes with earbuds, so take your choice. I usually use the earbuds which are comfortable for me, or you can just put it under your pillow.
I love it.
The only thing that bugs me (and it is not their fault) is the TV band, which is great... I can listen to local TV's late night news before falling asleep. Thanks to our wonderful government, in February 2009, this feature will no longer work. The public should demand that this conversion not be done. It could be a very important feature in case of earthquake, tornado, etc. to get breaking news. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Very good AM, FM Radio Sunday, June 08, 2008 A Customer from Fort Wayne
Very good AM, FM Radio. Has good AM tunner, this is rare these days, can pick up very distant stations and locks them in. It's like having a good car radio in your pocket. Im very pleased with it. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Excellent hand-held radio with good MW sensitivity Saturday, February 09, 2008 Dean from Lubbock, Texas
The DT-200VX is an excellent hand-held, pocketsized AM/FM/TV sound radio offering good MW (AM) sensitivity for its size class. This unit does pull in distant MW (AM) stations late at night from hundreds and even thousands of miles away. Audio quality is above average when the volume is set at the right level. If the volume is set too high, the audio can distort a little bit due to the small built-in speaker. This is a higher priced hand-held radio on the market today but worth every penny and dollar. You pay for a Sangean radio and therefore you receive a quality product. Overall, the Sangean DT-200VX is easy to use, is of good value, is great for everyday listening on all bands and is excellent for MW (AM) DX'ing for its class. Buy one today! I bought 4. My husband absolutely loves his radio!!! We got so much radio for a small price. I will definitely return again to buy from you. I couldn't find him a "pocket" radio anywhere and I saw your commercial and visited your site. No regrets! Thank you! Was this review helpful?

4 of 5 Great Radio for Reception Wednesday, June 13, 2007 A Customer from Colorado
Several people in my family have used similar models of this radio for years. It's not the smallest or lightest on the market, but it has better reception than my other portable radios. I like the automatic shutf-off after 90 minutes feature, since I listen to it when I can't sleep, then fall asleep. The auto-shutoff saves battery. Battery life seems quite good. In addition to station memory, it also has "favorites," somewhat like web browser favorites. You can press a button to turn on favorites, then "scroll" through your favorite stations. The TV sound reception is also a nice feature. Was this review helpful?
