I absolutely love this radio! I have owned an RCA RP1665 AM/FM Portable Radio for many many years, and I wanted to see if I could find a similar sized radio but with better reception. The Sangean was exactly what I was looking for. The reception is great, and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the "lock" button on the back of the unit, which prevents any changes to your settings, once you have tuned into the station that you want and the volume that you want. The ear pieces are also great. A real jewel for a very affordable price. Was this review helpful?

I agree with previous reviews. Good sound quality but have to use headphones that come with it because antenna within headphones. Would be better with backlight. Nice looking - almost exactly the same size as my ipod mini. Very lightweight -actually just plastic, so could be crushed fairly easily if in the wrong hands (like kids). A bit overpriced but I was desperate since my gym still has those overhead T.V.'s where you have to tune in to a specific channel to listen. This radio does the job. 3 sets of of 5 memory presets for a total of 15. Headphone jack is a little close to preset buttons, other than moving presets to front faceplate, very minor distraction. Would prefer that it had a dc input jack, but the battery is lasting a long time and I may just use rechargeable batteries. Do wish that the display was backlit for 20 to 30 seconds when a button is pressed. There is no backlighting at all. Reception is very good. Volume is very adequate. If this had a back light, I would have rated a 5. I also like the size, looks like a MP3 player. I have an MP3 player with FM tuner, but wanted to listen to AM and this is perfect. LOOKS WELL MADE SIZE IS CONVIENT AND THE RERCEPTION AND CLARITY IS GREAT. I WANTED A RADIO THAT WOULD DELIVER CONSISTENT AM RECEPTION AND THIS PRODUCT DOES THE JOB Was this review helpful?
