 | Sansa Shaker MP3 Player Review By: Paul Moons - DigitalReviews.net Published on: 2/4/2008 12:32 PM | | The Sansa Shaker is a small hour-glass shaped MP3 player and both its packaging and unique shake feature suggest it is aimed at children. Beyond its unique shape, the Shaker stands out because when you press the play button and physically shake the unit, the Shaker (what's in a name, eh?) will select and play a new song at random....read the full review |

5 of 5 A+ Thursday, June 19, 2008 A Customer from Fair Grove, MO.
I bought this for my 3 year old. He loves it. He is to small to understand how to use the ear buds, so the built-in speaker works great for his needs. We have had this for two months and he is still carrying it around with him. I never installed the software, I just dumped MP3 on the SD card and it works great. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Shaker is great Wednesday, May 14, 2008 bjsharvest@bellsouth.net from Harvest, AL
The only Con is no FM receiver, speaker is better than I expected. I've written two prior reviews on other products I purchased that you deleted, so I quit writing any further reviews until now... Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Good for kids Wednesday, May 14, 2008 ramzing from columbus, oh
This is a good player for kids. It has no display so track selection is limited to next track or previous track. The built in speaker is a nice touch and so are the dual headphones. Sound quality is quite good. Runs on AAA batteries, so those have to be replaced periodically. Overall, a pretty good product. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 The Shaker Player Review Tuesday, May 13, 2008 bjayran from Pensacola, Fl
I bought this player when it was on sale. Its my 5th one.
I read some of the other "reviews" Didn't pay too much attention
to them, cause all I wanted was one with build-in-speakers, because the one I had I dropped it, paid good money for it too. This SHAKER sounds good, looks good, price good and easy to use to. I'm 56 years old, and the SHAKER might be for children, but It's the best MP3 Player I own, and the cheapest too. My grand-
daugther said "we all have "Sansa"now but I want the one Maw-Maw
have, two can hear it at the same time with headphones and the whole house can hear it without". She's trying to talk me out of it, but I told her I'll give you one of my other ones before I give you MY SHAKER. But I'll buy her one for her birthday. I love it, love it, love it, it should be called the love machine.
(she put the stickers on hers) love it. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Good for kids. Tuesday, May 13, 2008 A Customer from Detroit, Michigan
I bought this for my niece. She is only 2, but loved it. Very easy to use, and it holds all her favorite songs. I would buy another one of these in the future for other kids gifts. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great for Kids Monday, May 12, 2008 A Customer from San Jose, CA
My 5 yr old daughter loves it. Its small and handy for her. Opening battery cover is tricky initially, u need to push and rotate the cover anticlock wise. I looked for instructions to open but cudnt find them. Overall, it is a good buy. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great for kids. Monday, May 12, 2008 A Customer from Badger, Mn
These are great for the kids to use kinda chunky size for smaller hands and inexpensive so if they are lost or broken it is not such a big deal. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Sansa Shaker Rocks Monday, May 12, 2008 A Customer from Great Bend, Kansas
Gave it to my Grandson, he is 5! His parents loaded the music and he mastered using in right off. He loves it. Uses it in the car all the time, makes for easy short trips. Great value. Was this review helpful?
1 of 5 NOT a "Plays for Sure" player Monday, May 12, 2008 wordperfect7@yahoo.com from wilmington, nc
I have four of the e240, a View, Fuze, and in coming the mail in a view days a Clip. So when I order this player I just Assumed that it would work with my Rhapsody Subscription service like ALL the other Sansa players do. Imagine my disappoint when I hooked up to Rhapsody and it says, "Not a subscription device". So now I am forced to pay a dollar a song to put music on this shaker and I am already paying fifteen dollars a month for unlimited "Music on the Go" which Sansa and Rhapsody both lead the customer to believe if you buy a Sansa it will work on Rhapsody. Sansa should make all their players work on Rhapsody or have a Easy to Find Disclaimer saying it is not a "Plays for Sure" player. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 My Eight year old Daughter LOVES IT! Monday, May 12, 2008 golphnut@comcast.net from New Hampshire
I bought this for my daughter, not knowing what to expect. She absolutely loves it and takes it with her almost everywhere. We've loaded all of her Veggie Tales CD's as well as some other fun kids song CD's. The controls were very easy for her to learn and operate. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 kids love it Monday, May 12, 2008 jeremy from philly, PA
My three year old loves this thing. Easy to use - rugged and battery lasts 4ever. Best of all she can listen to "be our guest" 50 times in a row without any help. More mini MP3 players should have removable SD cards....very nice. The only thing I dont like is that it wont play wma files like EVERY OTHER SANSA PRODUCT....strange. Gave it a 4 for that reason. The shaker feature is useless for young kids....it takes some efford. My wife cant even make that feature work. That being said you wont regret buying this unit. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Wow, this thing is perfect for kids... Sunday, May 11, 2008 DJR from Tannersville, Pa
CHEEEP, CHEEEP, AND CHEEEP... oh and it works really well! Get one, or three. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Good product. Bad marketing Sunday, May 11, 2008 Ezra from Jacksonville, FL
My 3-year-old was always obsessed with my iPod and quickly developed preferences with regard to songs he wanted to hear. When he was four (last xmas) I got him a Shaker (this purchase is my second one). It was the surprise hit of the season. He went through my iTunes with me and I played him some of the songs I grew up with as well as some of the more kid-appropriate yet subversive contemporary tunes. From my library we filled up his 512MB of songs and he knows how to navigate and find his favorites. He's tough on the thing but not carelessly brutal. It's holds up exceptionally well. I change the battery every 2 days or so (invest in NiMH AAAs folks; I only have 2 and they're well worth it). I think Sandisk screwed up marketing this to 8 and up. I think it's best suited to 3 and up. I saw it flop on the market and bought a second as a spare just in case. Hell, I've been known to use it myself. And did I mention the built-in speaker is good for little ones who won't take easily to earbuds? My biggest problem with this product is convincing him to turn it off when we got to Taco Bell. If you have a music loving toddler, you simply can't go wrong with this thing.
His favorite songs: "Enter Sandman" by Metallica, "The Baker" by The Aquabats, "Float On" by Modest Mouse, and "Baby Elephant Walk" by Henry Mancini. Oh, and the opening theme to the first season of Justice League. :) Was this review helpful?
