5 of 5 Great Combination Tuesday, August 14, 2007
BobG from Covington, OH

This portable speaker system is a great addition to a spectacular MP3 player. Enough has been said about the Sansa e200 series. They are well executed MP3 players that offer excellent performance and value. I normally would not have purchased the im510 speaker system, but Buy.com had a great deal on the combo (with rebate), so I essentially got the speakers for free. I have enjoyed using them, but find them to be a little harsh on the high end and lacking punch on the low end. Don't get me wrong, I do like these speakers, and they work seamlessly with the Sansa players. For the money, they are a great deal. Just don't expect too much. For use in the garage or outside, they are light, convenient, and sound plenty good. For quiet indoor use, you may want for more. What this speaker set REALLY needs is a remote control. If you can get a good deal, buy the im510 speakers.

5 of 5 Very Satisfied Sunday, June 10, 2007
Jim from Ohio
I purchased the Sandisk Sansa e280 MP3 Player and Altec Lansing Speaker Bundle at a special price that was being offered. The total cost was not much more than the price of the player. It's my first iPod-like MP3 player and I'm very satisfied with it. I did experience the left or right channels cutting out occasionally, but it seemed that when I slightly modified the custom equalizer setting it went away. I haven't noticed it happening again since. It took a little getting used to, but once you master the menus and the PC to player interface, it becomes second nature. I learned more by trial and error than anything. The manual is lacking in detail in some areas. I do everything in MTP mode except when I need to check for firmware updates. I just drag and drop folders into or delete folders from the music folder. It's very easy to create playlists while connected to the PC in MTP mode. (Hint: just right-click on a folder in the music folder and select "create playlist", then just move the playlist to the playlist folder. Double click on the playlist file and drag and drop other items into it or delete items from it.) Synchronizing with Window Media Player is worthless. The speaker system is fine considering it's small size.

5 of 5 Great portable music Wednesday, May 30, 2007
A Customer from Hampton, NH
The Sansa is a fine flash based player with a good interface, plenty of storage and a nice LCD. You charge it from a USB port rather than an AC adapter (an optional accessory I believe). The included ear buds are nothing special. The IM510 was acquired for listening to tunes while traveling. It is a clean and simple package. For modest volumes, the sound is adequate given the unit's size. The two units together make for a nice portable package.

5 of 5 Sansa gives great bang for the buck Wednesday, May 02, 2007
A Customer from Norfolk, VA
Overall, the Sansa e280 and accompanying portable speaker give outstanding value at a low cost. In my opinion the Sansa MP3 player gives more bang for the buck than an iPod by offering features not found in an iPod, such as an FM tuner and the ability to record voice memos and radio stations. True, the Sansa requires a bit more effort to learn how to use, but once you get the hang of navigating its interface and updating its firmware, you will probably never consider switching to music players from any other company. If you need assistance learning how to use your Sansa, check out http://anythingbutipod.com (which is where I picked up some helpful hints). As for the speaker system, it gives great sound in a small package. The only drawback is that it doesn't come with a remote.

5 of 5 Sansa and Speaker Bundle - WOW! Wednesday, April 11, 2007
A Customer from Roseville, CA
I thought this price was too good to be true, but it is true! The package came promptly and I was in my kitchen rocking to my tunes within 2 hours! I love the compactness of the speakers...big sounds and small package really makes a statement in my kitchen. The speakers are also portable and you can have music with batteries or an electrical outlet plug! The e280 is running for about $180-$200 in most stores and the speakers are running between $125-$200,i got mine through Buy.com on one of their weekly specials, so this published price is a little more, but is definitely a Great Deal and i am telling all my friends about my fantastic find at Buy.com.

5 of 5 Guess I got a good deal for a change.... Wednesday, April 04, 2007
thcompguy from Hurst, TX
I have had a Sandisk 8GB for sometime now, liked it ..... then the Zune came along, and I still like it, for its size I guess. Wondering what the Zune is like, I got this Sandisk/Lansing Duo instead because I need to play this in the bedroom when I konk-out at night. For what this duo is now going for I guess I was able to get that extra BB2001-Subwoofer for about free, and boy does that package nice with the whole set-up. Sounds nice enough even by itself, should I ever want to use in the car or whatever, but the subwoofer really is the cherry on top. They work perfect together, as I have other spkr/subwoofer combos, these seem to be matched the best. Maybe it is that little button that toggles Phasing? But really cool, think I will forget about Zune, Microsoft is so goofy sometimes I have to wonder if I can trust them and then who knows if the HDD will go out in it .......... Sandisk has got the Memory that for some reason, right now, I trust more. Be sure to get the firmware updater from the website though, the one I had in the packaged software was totally bonkers and in the past I had to send back sister devices that were actually good, but techs thought them bad ....... it was the updater that was not picking up on latest firmware updates ...... me thought that was it all along too .... so doesn't say much for me either, hahaha. That was really a mess, but since having the right updater, it really performed its intended magic! I play MP3's at 160kbps and it is all so sweet! Zune has a much bigger screen but I think I like the smaller handiness and if I want big I will just use the computer that I use most the time anyway. I ended up with an extra 8GB-Sandisk, but I will just sell it cheap to a lucky person, why not share the good-fortune! Everything fits together solid, I think they even sell a remote that will interface, but I doubt I will get it. $20 I think? I don't mind the buttons on top and I like using the dial. I got it all powering up with one switch on a power strip .... nice! Haven't tried batteries yet, as I use NiMH they wouldn't have to run a long time anyway, but I somehow bet they would. Subwoofer is ofcourse all 110-120v, but sweet in the house. Phil Keaggy is all I want to listen to, now that I found him, and I kNOW my music!
