1 of 1 customers found this review helpful. 5 of 5 Sansa e200 series always a good buy Wednesday, April 29, 2009 Zack from Ohio
I've had much experience with the various memory configurations of the Sansa e200 series. Simply, these are great mp3 players for the money. Rockbox can easily be installed, allowing for the use of MicroSD cards of up to 16GB. A lot of extra functionality is available from using rockbox over the Sansa firmware as well. I recommend anyway with a Sansa to go ahead and purchase either a car adapter or AC charger as opposed to using the USB cable to charge the unit. Not only will the device charge faster, but there will be less chance of conflict arising from improper firmware or an inadequate USB port leading to faulty charging. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 We have three of these! Monday, April 20, 2009 Suzanne from Milton VT
Our family now has 3 of these players, 2 Sansa e250 (2gb) and the 4gb version. We have had many mp3 players over the years and this is, by far, the best model. We prefer flash players because there are no moving parts - less chance of failing when we are active. The Sansa also has an SD micro expansion slot - perfect. We like the wheel - makes navigating fast. Easy to load up - we use Windows Media Player or drag and drop to a folder (as a flash drive.) We also appreciate that they use playlists - a must-have when you load hundreds of titles.
Another great feature of the e-series is the charge, which is amazing. Our kids use these players a lot, especially while riding in the car. We'll get at least 14 hours of play time on one charge. My husband and I use the other one less often - it is always ready to go! The long battery time is also good for students, who might want to make use of the voice recording feature.
Just a word regarding another review. We also purchased two refurbished models. One arrived broken (the screen was shattered.) We bought them in good faith, that they would work as described. Even though it clearly stated 'no returns' on the refurbished items, buy.com did replace the broken one with a working model. Everyone is happy! Was this review helpful?

I bought this refurbished and it arrived quick and was very clean but no box. I charged it for 15 hours on the USB port. When I took the charger off it would not power up. The battery could not hold a charge. If I connected it to the USB PORT I could navigate through the menus and play music. There was the previous owner's music and data left on it -- TACKY and some bad tunes too!! Tried overnight charging and that failed. The worst part was that I have to pay for shipping to return it and I will get the same product back (for a 20% increase in price with the shipping added). Plus I am going to wait 2-3 weeks for the product. I think the return policy should be changed so that returning a defective item does not cost the buyer additional fees as it was purchase in good faith. Was this review helpful?
