5 of 5 Great! Monday, November 13, 2006
A Customer from Florence, Alabama
I bought this for myself. It meets all of my needs. I listen while mowing the grass. I like the ability to add an SD card but it slows down the initial start-up. Minor irritation worth the wait. Very flexible storage with cards.

4 of 5 Good Device Tuesday, September 12, 2006
Hemant M G from Bloomington IN
I bought this player some time back, but I am not really impressed with the sound quality, the over all sound quality felt good. It has some good features like built in Fm player and SD memory slot. Over all it is a good product for the price.

5 of 5 Bang for the Buck! Saturday, September 09, 2006
Mean Gene from Las Vegas, NV
I was looking for an affordable alternative to an installed mp3 player for my car. After reading the reviews and finding out that Sansa had an FM transmitter made just for this player, I decided to get it. I have no regrets! No complicated installation hassles. Pretty much plug & play. I converted my mp3s to WMA files and can fit about 220 songs on the 512 MB internal memory. I later purchased a 1 GB SD card for the expansion slot, but have not found it necessary to use. Overall, I'm very happy with my Sansa. If the e130 has been discontinued, I'd want to snatch these up while I can!

5 of 5 SanDisk Sansa E130 512MB Thursday, August 31, 2006
AJ from Port Orange, FL.
Fine Player, though I believe it's discontinued by SanDisk now. I wanted a player with an SD slot and this was the best brand and price I could find. Highly recommended especially with the rebated SD cards I have bought from Buy.com. I can keep all the music I need for a weeks trip on my bike literally in my pocket on 4 1 GB SD cards and this player. About 74 CDs worth. Not too shabby! Could be a bit louder, though I usally use it with amplified speakers so that's not too much of a problem. Headphones that come with it are not great, but OK. All in all a great buy.

4 of 5 Not a Bad MP3 Player Wednesday, May 24, 2006
deborah2323 from Davenport, IA
I bought this for my daughter (a more affordable alternative to an iPod). The ear buds fit directly into the ear and drown out all the outside noise. I like the fact that it is expandable. Overall not a bad buy. Easy to learn controls, but would like a better carrying case than the clear plastic one that comes with it. Would be nice if they included a lanyard or something. Buy.com shipped it so fast (and for free). I'll definately buy from them again!

5 of 5 Wow!!! Tuesday, April 25, 2006
Meeedo from Manassas, VA
This is definitley to be the best mp3 player I've ever had, It's a lot cheaper of other mp3 players I've checked, & it has a lot of extra features like FM Tuner which an I-pod doesn't have. It has a big space 4 alot of music files. It's easy to use, doesn't need any extra software to operate, just copy & paste song files, u can even use it as a flash drive so any kind of files can be stored on it.Another thing that i liked is the ability to increase it's space by adding an SD-Card which is alot cheaper than buyin a new mp3 player. It also has a stopwatch installed on it "Hehe".So overall iam totally satisfied with it.

5 of 5 Good quality for little money Monday, April 24, 2006
David153 from San Francisco
Sansa has a great sound and I overall love it. Good for jogging since it comes with an armband and a case. Problems: 1. if you shut it down and restart, it will remember only the last file, not the exact position within the file. 2. No file and directory navigation - make sure your ID3 tags are correctly filled out! Great gadget for that money!

It's great! I have it for a month and I love it. Its still going on the battery that came with it. First earplug style h-phones ever to stay comfortably in my ears! (Bass is better w/higher end headphones of course) Best price I could find online and lightning fast delivery!

5 of 5 SanDisk Sansa E130 - Big Sound in a Small Package Tuesday, April 18, 2006
A Customer from Dublin, OH
I ordered one of these for my son last week and was so impressed that I purchased one for myself. In our home, we have a 4th Gen iPod, Creative Zen Touch and Zen Sleek as well a Zen Muvo and old Rio S10 unit. I personally own both Zen HD units and, like many such units, have been impressed with their sound but concerned over the HD fragility. (The iPod has had complete HD failures in 3 units in under 1 year.) I came across the Sansa E130 in a small flash drive player review and bought one for my son to use at his sporting events so his more expensive HD player wouldn't be damaged. I was very impressed by the sound, easy to read display and duration of the included AAA alkaline battery. The unit even came with a clear plastic case and armband. Menu navigation is easy and intuitive. Files (audible, wma and mp3) are sorted on the unit and download quickly by "drag and drop" method, with the player recognized by WinXP as a hard drive. (It can also be used for file storage and transport.) 2 full CDs encoded at moderate wma rates transferred in well under 1 minute with a USB 2 connection. The SD slot allows inexpensive expansion. The FM radio has good reception outdoors, less so in a vehicle. This unit is essentially all plastic and very lightweight. The navigation buttons nonetheless provide reasonable feedback, even through the carrying case. The battery door appears capable of long term use. The earpbuds seem to do a good job of sealing out extraneous noise and bass response is good for such units. Negatives? Few: Some would say the unit "feels cheap", though one gets a comparable unit with a display that an iPod shuffle does not offer. The AAA battery may be a negative to some, though I prefer user-changeable batteries myself. While this does not have the upscale appearance of a metallic unit or "brand name" mystique of an iPod, the price, sound quality, display and ease of use set it as a very reasonable choice for those seeking an inexpensive flash drive player.

5 of 5 Great value! Tuesday, April 18, 2006
A Customer from Decatur, AL
Buying this MP3 player was my first introduction to MP3 players, so I needed something that was user friendly but also offered the features I needed for day-to-day use of an MP3 player while working out in the gym. I was VERY pleased with this player - it's easy to use and I particularly like: The FM radio feature, the strap and carrying case that makes it easy to use in the gym. Sansa does need to put the Right and Left earbud designations in LARGER print or color code the right ear bud or something - it took me a while to notice the TEEENSY "L" and "R" on the earbuds. I finally ended up just wrapping a piece of colored tape around the right one so I'd know which was which all the time. I did have an initial problem when I downloaded music from some CD's - the playback was all garbled. I got on the phone to their VERY GOOD tech support and they helped me fix it easily through a re-formatting process. I was quite impressed with their tech folks. A GREAT value and easy to use MP3 player.

5 of 5 Best Bang for the Buck Thursday, April 13, 2006
David P. Olsen from Warren, MN
While I usually believe that you get what you pay for, this item is worth more than I paid. I wanted something that would expand to meet my music listening needs but not cost so much that I'd be afraid to use it for working out. Excellent sound and features, great earphones, and light weight. The only down side is the cheap case that it comes with but still for the money, it is worth it.

4 of 5 Pretty good for the price Thursday, April 13, 2006
Randy from Madison, WI
I've only had it for 4 days and it's not a bad player for the price. The few things I did find are the "carrying/protective case" and the faint digital idle noise. During "idle", there is a little digital noise but, once it starts playing the audio, it is gone. Knowing a little about the components that are in devices like these, this is common with lower end CODEC's and the programming. But what do you expect for the price. As for the case, it is made out of very cheap clear vinyl (I will be looking for a different case). The audio, when playing, I am very pleased with. Played "Welcome to the machince" by Pink Floyd, not bad at all. The FM tuner isn't that bad either. I would buy another one, no problem.

5 of 5 Great mp3 player Monday, April 03, 2006
Nancy from Minnesota
I just want to say that I love this mp3 player. I bought one for my daughter, and liked it so much, that I bought one for myself too. works great, fits in my pocket nicely when I go out walking, etc. I almost forgot there was a radio on here until I read other reviews because I'm always listening to the music that I put on it. I love the earphones more then any others I have had. I definately recommend this one.

4 of 5 Nice player for the money Tuesday, March 28, 2006
Alex from Louisville, KY
I really like this small player. The sound quality is solid (not great) and the ability to use SD cards to increase the capacity is a nice addition. The battery life is also great. The only thing I don't like about this player is a scrolling wheel. For the price, you simply cannot go wrong.

4 of 5 Doesn't work with subscription services Wednesday, March 01, 2006
A Customer from Mount Kisco, NY
I knew that the m200 series didn't take SD cards, so I bought a E130 instead. What I didn't know is that the m200 series works with Yahoo "music to go," Rhapsody "music to go," i.e. anything you can hear you can download to your player and listen to it as long as you maintain your music service account (DRM). While you can download to E130, you can only download tracks you individually PURCHASE. I thought the "PlayForSure" logo on both m200 and e130 meant they had the same capabilities. Doubt this will be changed with a firmware upgrade. You have to decide which feature (SD expandibility or ability to use with subscription services) is more important to you.

5 of 5 This will be a great addition to your electronic c Sunday, February 12, 2006
Connor from Madison
The Sansa e130 is a great peice of modern machinery. It is very easy to use and has many standard features. Such as the SanDisk Card Slot, which can hold up to 2.0 GB of memory. Also it has a backlit screen with LED light built in. The controls are another thing that is a feature of this great item, they are extremely easy to maneuver. Hope you get this amesome mP3 player soon.

5 of 5 READ THIS! Tuesday, January 31, 2006
Doc Burns from Helena, Montana
Please note: I am not a plant from SanDisk. I have had my e130 for only one week, but it is execeptional! It took me a few days to figure out how to attach id tags to the songs because my ripper wasn't doing it, but Winamp easily can be used to edit the tags (which is necessary so you can use the file management software). Once you have this, though, and download the firmware update from SanDisk, the unit has all the features I was looking for. You can easily navigate by artist, album, song, and with the update the unit will play albums in order of track number. There is an EQ that has a Custom option (imperative) that allows for great sound without using the SRS Wow, which is amazing but apparently uses up battery life. It is PLENTY loud, and the included ear buds not only deliver good bass, they are the only buds I have used that stay in place while skiing bumps. Transfer of music to the unit is a snap, but know it cannot be used with Windows 98 (it did work with ME, though). Of course the SD slot is a huge bonus for a cheap player. I cannot recommend this highly enough. I just hope it is durable; it does have a year warranty. Buy.com delivered it quickly. Definitely a no brainer.

5 of 5 Great basic mp3 player/FM radio! Wednesday, January 25, 2006
Nick from Frankfort IN
This is my first mp3 player. It is a great value for the money, as are most things sold by buy.com. It does everything promised and more. Be sure to get the firmware upgrade download from the SanDisk site to improve playability. All SanDisk products are top notch. My next mp3 player will be a SanDisk too without a doubt.

This is a super little player to add to my hard drive style creative zen that is very fragile. I liked all the reviews and so I took a chance, love it. This is solid state and very light and easy to use. The earbuds stay in my ears and have pretty good sound for earbuds. I even got my old fashion analog boyfriend to get one!!!!

5 of 5 Great MP3 Player For <$ Thursday, December 15, 2005
Tom from NJ
This unit is a nice size and with the SD Card slot, allows an unlimited playlist. You can get a bunch od SD cards and make your own compilations of music. Now, you can listen to Pink Floyd and your spouse can listen to the John Denver w/out having to reimage the card in the unit. One thing I couldn't seem to do was to get my Albums to play the songs in anything but alpha order. As others have noted, this is a great little unit at a very good price point. The radio is a nice feature. The only thing I didn't like much were the ear buds. The ones that come with the SDMX1-512 have a much better sound to me.

5 of 5 Kills the Shuffle Tuesday, November 01, 2005
Cameron from Chicago
This is an awesome player for the money. Very intuitive controls, sleek look, and EXPANDABLE. This player works very well with Real Rhapsody, but is not recognized by itunes! The only thing I don't care for is the size of the text on the screen and the insensative volume wheel. I would not even put the iPod Shuffle in the same catagory the Sansa. This player is head and shoulders above any other player at a similar price point.

5 of 5 Includes headphones and deceptively small Wednesday, September 28, 2005
Ken Niebling from Ft. Lauderdale, FL
I bought this player and it hasn't arrived yet, but I went over to a retail outlet and was surprised to see how small it was. It seems to be decently constructed. I panicked when I found out that this retail outlet did not include the cable with the player and wanted to sell me one for $20. Anyway, no comment on the sound because I haven't tried it yet, but the wheel didn't seem slippery or cheezy.

4 of 5 Very Nice Player Friday, September 16, 2005
Paul from Des Moines, IA
This is a supprise in a small package. It sounds very good with the WOW and SRS. Has real nice organizing abilities, and FM radio too. The radio is not in the specs on this site, it is a nice bonus. I got this and a cheap 1 gig card, and it was only $20 dollars more than the 1 gig model!! I have 1.5gigs for about 129 dollars. I am happy with the size and for the money youw would be hard pressed to find better. The scroll wheel is the real gripe here, it is STIFF and sometimes too slippery. The controls do behave somewhat slowly (changing songs) sometimes, but not a serious problem, considering I paid 70 bucks for it. Would recommend for anyone looking into a cheap, and light flash player .

Caleb from St. Louis, MO
I would highly recommend this player to anyone who wants MP3, but doesn't need an iPOD. It's small, light, has great sound and a great screen, and great battery life. It's so easy to use. Only thing I wish it had was better playlist capability. I got it cheap w/ Buy.com plus rebate, plus VISA credit card offer.

5 of 5 Great Sound and Value ! Thursday, June 23, 2005
A Customer from Avon, IN
I have an IPOD mini and another static RAM MP3 player. PROS: The E130 sound with the SRS WoW and 3D on blows them both away. Big plusses are SD slot (I can use my SD card from my camera and Treo), small and light, long battery life, and no skip or heat issues as with HD based units. CONS: Scroll wheel is a little imprecise/sluggish at times and the volume control could go louder. SUMMARY: This is a MUST have at this price!!

5 of 5 Small yet Powerfull Tuesday, June 14, 2005
James Qualy jamesbond696969 from Ofallon, Missouri
This mp3 player is awsome! Easy to upload tunes that have been downloaded to your computer. The sound is excellent...for me I like a lot of bass and this unit delivers. I also like the earbuds which stay in my ears unlike most in-the-ear headphones. I originally bought an ipod shuffle for about the same price as the Sansa e-130; it also has a 512 memory BUT the sound is'nt as good nor does the shuffle have a digital readout so you can see the title of the song that is playing. Most of all, the Sansa unit allows for additional memory in the form of an SD slot affording the use of additional SD cards to increase the memory upto 2 GB. I'm glad I bought it and returned the Ipod.
