4 of 5 Works Great Sunday, March 02, 2008 A Customer from Syracuse, NY
Not much to say. It works great. Good quality and attention to detail. Comes with belt clip for the player that you can use when away from the car. Only issue is that (at least on my car) its tricky to get a good fit in lighter so it stays put and keeps a good connection. Was this review helpful?

The SanDisk Sansa FM Transmitter is a good product. The sound is great just make sure the SRS WOW on the player is off. It is the best transmitter I've had even though you can only use it in your car it is still better than the battery operated transmitters because the signal is so much better. The battery operated transmitters, like the Belkin TuneCast, tend to have static because the batteries are just not powerful enough. The only thing you have to be sure to do with the SanDisk Sansa FM Transmitter is get a good fit with the power outlet so it doesn't swing around when making sharp turns. The light on the player can be set to be on all the time, if you plan to use it at night, just by going to Settings>Display>Backlight on the player's menu. Overall this is a good product that is easy to use and operate just follow the instructions to get that perfect fit with the power outlet. Was this review helpful?

Got to use with my SanDisk e140 and it WORKS GREAT. Have preset stops on both my car radio and on this item so can switch from one to another if the sounds fades. Tone and quality are are super and this plays either my mp3s or audiobooks in car. Was this review helpful?

Bought the transmitter to pair up with Sansa e140. Had to adjust the cigarette lighter plug to fit properly in the car, but I think it is a problem with the car socket. Once properly seated the transmitter does not dislodge easily so you get no interruptions even on bumpy roads! The sound quality has been AMAZING so far near CD quality and far better than the previous Belkin transmitter I had been using. I can use one frequency 107.7 almost everywhere I go (just took a trip to Maryland and only had to change it once) since the transmitter is strong enough to drown any other weak incoming signal. The fact that the player gets power from the USB port while connected to the transmitter means you don't have to worry about changing batteries on long trip - which used to be annoying. Only draw back is that you have to use the included belt clip and cannot use the protective cover for the player if going to connect it to the transmitter, so just be careful not to scratch the surfaces when the player is not on the transmitter. OVERALL AN EXELLENT BUY TO GO WITH THE SISTER PLAYERS! Was this review helpful?

I have owned the Sandisk FM transmitter designed for the Sansa 100 series players for @ 2 weeks. My first impression upon receiving it was that it appeared to be a nicely designed and a solidly built product. Once I plugged it in to my 12V power input, in my truck, my initial impression proved to be true. The transmitted signal was strong and very clean. As I drive my 56 mile daily commute the quality of the sound never wavers at all.
The Sansa FM transmitter comes with a variety of adapters to fit various size 12V sockets. It has a flexible gooseneck which keeps it solidly positioned at your angle of choice (no wires or clutter). The unit allows you to program three frequencies into memory and you have the full FM frequency spectrum from which to select. You simply push one of the three memory buttons on the transmitter. It instantly turns on the transmitter and powers up your Sansa. I have found it best to turn the Sansas volume up a couple of clicks to @ 75% of full volume, once it boots up, as the player defaults to a lower volume setting. It always gives a pure, solid signal transmission with no interference. It basically sounds as though I have a CD playing. I really cannot find anything negative to say about the Sansa E140/FM transmitter combo. They are both products with which I am extremely pleased.

Overall a great accessory for the Sansa e100 series players. Flexible neck keeps player off my center console and out of the way. Sound quality is excellent - if you can find an empty frequency.
A few problems I've had:
-If your power outlet remains powered even with the car off (like my VW) the player will never turn off so you have to undock it. The transmitter will automatically shut off if there's no signal from the player.
-I live near a large city and there aren't a lot of frequencies that something isn't broadcast on. Was this review helpful?
