To support the higher capacity needs, SD cards are now requiring a different design. The new SD 2.0 specifications which supports 4GB and up, is called Secure Digital High Capacity (SDHC). The SD Association has created and defined 3 speed classes to help you identify speed and performance capabilities/minimum requirements of SDHC cards and their SDHC host products. Details on the SD 2.0 specification: http://www.sdcard.org or SanDisk.com/SDHC Cards address data (read and write) at numerous speeds. Many factors impede this performance. SDHC guarantees a minimum read and write speed necessary to handle recording high quality video and audio. The maximum card speed may vary, but you can always depend on SDHC cards to meet your SDHC host product's high quality performance requirements. SDHC Compatibility Information Because SDHC works differently (supports the new higher capacity cards) this new card format is not backwards compatible with legacy SD format host devices.

5 of 5 It's a Bird, It's a Plane... Saturday, August 16, 2008 A Customer from Columbus, OH
...it's SanDisk! Wow, they've really done it this time. Super-fast, super capacity, super reliability. This product really delivers what it says it will. A great value for the price. Was this review helpful?

I got this card to go with my new Canon Xsi DSLR as they recently switched formats to SD, and I wanted to run 'premium fuel' in it. I chose wisely. By the way, in case you didn't read the fine print like I apparently didn't (this is the second card I purchased of this type), this also comes with a USB reader. The card and reader are both extremely fast. I can shoot continuous JPEG and the card can keep up. It also comes with a great zippered key fob style neoprene style card holder (it also holds the reader), and a mini CD containing RescuePRO software, which my co-worker swears by (by no fault of the card -- his camera consumed some photos, and RescuePRO recovered each one of them). I will likely buy the 8GB card now, as I have two of the 4GB cards, and SanDisk is definitely a great product. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Amazing Price & Value! Saturday, June 07, 2008 George from Grapevine, TX
SanDisk products have always been flawless - never had any problems. I'm excited about the potential speed of the Extreme III SD card! I paid about a third of what I was expecting to pay and the product was sent with a SD card USB reader - an unexpected bonus!! I also received the package a week ahead of schedule! 5 of 5 Extreme Fast Saturday, April 12, 2008 A Customer from Tobyhanna, PA
I have this Sandisk Extreme III 4GB SDHC card for over two weeks. This card is lot faster then my old SD Ultre II 1GB. My 1GB Ultre II holds only around 350 pictures. I have a Nikon D80 and the extreme III works great with the camera. And give me more memory, now the new 4GB holds 1000 pictures. Just to let people know, the SDHC Cards has a diffrent format. It won't ready on most of the PC, Laptops, and card readers. Microsoft has a patch for it. I try the patch and still won't read the card. So if anyone out there going to purchase any SDHC Card remember to purchase one with a card reader with it. Was this review helpful?
