5 of 5 Inexpensive, Large Capacity, Fast Friday, April 06, 2007 A Customer from Springfield, MA
I've used SanDisk Ultra II in the past so when I saw this 1Gb for this price I could not pass it up.
It did not disappoint.
For the price the capacity and speed are fantastic.
Great combination at a great price. Was this review helpful?

I've always had 100% reliability with Sandisk. These Ultra II Series are the perfect balance of price and performance, and most importantly, reliability. There's a lot of cheap fast memory being sold, but usually come at another price.
For a few dollars more, I know I don't need to worry with Sandisk. They're power sippers too, which is always a nice plus.

Some say you have to have the fastest write times to keep up with your camera, but I never had a problem writing the files to this drive using my Rebel XT camera Was this review helpful?

I bought a handful of different compact flash cards at the store to compare their speed and performance in my Canon Digital Rebel EOS. This one far surpassed the write speed of the others making fast repetitive shots possible. A slower camera may max out in a slower flash card, but for the high performance cameras, this card is a must. It is the only card I continue to buy for backup space. Was this review helpful?

I have used both this card and the 512MG version and they have worked flawlessly for a few years now. I know there are larger cards, but I prefer to "divide" my images among a few cards, in case one gets lost or malfunctions -- but hasn't happened yet. Was this review helpful?

I've had this card for six or seven months and have run several thousand shots through it switching between my Nikon D100 and D70, all without a hitch. I have had the 512mb version of the card for a few months longer and am very pleased with it as well. Was this review helpful?

For people shooting performance digital SLR's such as my new Canon Rebel XT or EOS 20D, speed does matter. The best appear to be the SanDisk Ultra II or III and the Lexar Pro 80X. If you are using a camera that can't shoot more than 2 or 3 frames at a time (like the 8MP Konica Minota A2), then this might be a little bit of an overkill for you. In any case, this is a quality card that will perform well in any camera that will that use Compact Flash. Was this review helpful?

Let me say that I have a Minolta A2 camera. I have read reviews that these faster cards do not perform more quickly in the camera than cheaper/slower ones in this device. I have found that to be true. No matter what card I use, I get the same feel when shooting... No advantage here with the ultra card. That said, the card works fine and has been reliable... My Nikon Coolpix 5700 camera was a replacement to an earlier 2.0 megapixel Epson PhotoPC 850Z. In the Epson, my 128MB CompactFlash card was plenty of memory for a vacation's worth of photos. But in the 5 megapixel Nikon, you had maybe enough space for a couple of vacation days, though not the whole trip. I needed something larger. After reading some reviews of speed testing done by Tom's Hardware (a GREAT source for hardware performance data), I decided that this was one of the cards on my short list. I wasn't disappointed one bit. It not only allows me to store a ton of pictures at the camera's full resolution, it also stores them fast enough that the speed is (believe it or not) just below that of a good 35mm film camera. I was really impressed with the card, and actually bought the 1GB one after having bought and tried a 512MB one shortly before. Was this review helpful?

Sandisk Ultra II 1GB card allows for plenty of storage -- it holds about 300 jpegs in super fine quality on a Canon 8MP Digital Camera. It's also very fast, reliable, and at $89.99, it costs less than half of what I paid for it in July 04. Highly recommended! Was this review helpful?

Ordered Sept 04, I was disappointed that it took 2 weeks to receive this card. I am very pleased with the compact flash, and have enjoyed taking tons of pictures. It is Compact Flash 1 compliant even though I have seen people confuse Ultra II as meaning Compact Flash 2. I am using this in my Canon A80 that only supports Compact Flash 1. The speed of this digital memory is appreciated time and again. Was this review helpful?

Very reliable, very good fast write times in my Canon 300D. I take a lot of full resolution pictures (6MB) and this card performs very well even when doing several exposures very quickly for action shots and bracketing. I can get about 285 pictures at full resolution and almost 1000 at the smallest resolution on this card. I have been using this card for about 4 months now and taken about 3000+ pictures and never a glitch. And the prices just keep getting better too! Highly recommend this card. A great value. In Camera RAW, Single Shot mode, this card performs superbly! No waiting to get the next shot in! In JPEG Multiple Shot mode, I'm sure the card can keep up whether in BASIC, NORMAL or FINE. Was this review helpful?
