SanDisk 16GB Cruzer Micro USB 2.0 Flash Drive - SDCZ6-016G-A11 - Amazing Deal!

My old 8 GB Cruzer had run out of room, so I bought the 16 GB to replace it. Yes, it does seem a bit faster, and being able to hop from home to college and back, and keeping all my (U3-based) Firefox bookmarks, plus room for documents and images on the U3 drive makes this my favorite mobile solution. You can choose yes or no on U3, as not everyone wants it. The price is as good as you'll find anywhere. And, yes, I stole the lanyard off the old one, and slapped on an address label in case I drop it somewhere accidentally. I back it up every week just in case.... The old one went thru the washer/dryer more than once, and never stopped working. I depend on SanDisk drives, and have never seen one fail.

Great device. I hooked a lanyard to mine so not to lose the drive. Sandisk, why not include one? When I first got my SanDisk 16GB flash drive, I thought it transfered data slower than my 1GB drives, so I did a test, and it's about 3-times faster. It's because I was transfering much smaller amounts of data on my smaller drives. I can keep 25 years of game development and programming work on this little thing. I don't know what else to say.

great price for the best of it's kind! no one does it better than sandisk. after you disable and uninstall the silly software they offer with the drive the drive works great!! Very durable and fits convieniently on key chains. It's the only kind I buy.

You won't find a more reliable flash drive with this much capacity for the price offered on Buy.com. I own several Cruzer flash drives of varying sizes and this one is by far the best value.

If you need more than 16gb of space on a flash drive, you're likely dealing with audio or video files that really deserve an external harddrive. But for the type of transferable data that can fit on this, this drive is PERFECT! Write speeds, like on most units this size, are a tad slow, but read speeds are FANTASTIC! And the fact that I don't have a cap to lose, makes me a happy camper! SanDisk did a GREAT job with this item and I highly recommend it!

After I removed the included SW from the drive I had 16GB. I found it quite slow when copying large files but the ease of use and size makes it very usable. Good buy.

I love this thing. Pros: Ease of use, Formatable, Bootable, Readyboost capable. Much more. Cons: Sometimes if i'm holding the white button down I have trouble getting it into the USB slot. kinda a pain but worth the hassle.

I accidentally left this in my jeans that I threw in the dirty clothes bag and my wife washed and dried them! The thing works perfectly!!! I couldn't believe it! Don't try it at home, but just know that this thing is pretty safe... amazing

I have been a regular Sandisk flash drive user for many years. I have the same series of this flash drive in 256MB, 512MB, 1GB, 2GB versions and all are still working without issues. These are nothing but reliable and dependable flash drives. Don't hesitate to buy this, especially when it is on sale.

Great price and arrived fast. The only drawback is the sliding open and close. When inserting to a USB port it tends to slide closed on you, it takes a little more effort to get it into the slot. My next one will be the cap style instead of slider. I am using this to back up my pictures, I inserted it into a digital picture frame (once I got it in) it worked great!

whats missing is 2 GB of space. It claims its 16GB, but mines had only 14GB on the dot. Its an excellent item for storage on the go. I use mines on the vehicle audio system that has built in USB MP3. reads folders as albums. Its great, im very happy with it, but dissipointed that 2GB was missing. I wonder how much would be missing if i bought a 2gb drive. its not fair. They need to provide exactly what they put. 2GB is alot of space.

used it to back up my pictures - 9Gigs - took a while but overall happy with results. good value. particularly like the fact that it doesn't have a cap (I always misplace them) and that it has a small ring that I can attach to key ring for easy portability. other devices have one or the other - not both.

I only wish it was a bit faster, but I like this product a lot, it's the best I owned. The design is very functional. One thing I didn't like was the software that comes with it and the extra partition, it makes it appear like you have inserted two drives, but it's my personal preference. It was easy to remove the partition and the stuff I didn't want. All in all, a great product and I'd definitely buy it again (I got it for less than $30).

I've been searching for a flashdrive with this must storage capacity. It also allows you to install programs on it so that there is no more discomfort of having different programs on different computers.

Although I see no advantage at all to the "U3" format, the USB drive itself is reliable, easy to use and carries enough space to hold both programs and data. I use it to replicate my desktop pc programs, including word processor, encrypted e-mail, encrypted data storage, chat program, password protector and web browser. An excellent purchase for the price.

I purchased this flash drive for use when traveling with my netbook. Since my Dell Mini 9 has only a 8GB SSD, I use a 16GB SDHC and this flash drive to keep documents and programs. The free programs from U3 are good and have reliable.

A little bit slow when you first open and sign in your security password, but after the drive is open,everything is smooth and for $30.02 (Delivered from buy.com) this was a good buy. What I like most is the security software. The password hint is very handy, help me remember my password all the time. The size is perfect in my car key holder. I carry this flash drive all the time.

Works fine with the laptop I ordered at the same time... however the flash drive arrived a week later. The laptop had free shipping, but the laptop arrived within a few days; the flash drive was simply put in an envelope and sent by surface mail, taking much longer before I could use them together.

Fantastic flash drive. No caps to lose. Super small. 16 GB, so it should be the only flash drive I'll ever need (until the 32 GB comes out). Security software was eliminated fairly easily. I wish all my purchases had this combo of quality, practicality and value.

I first used the SanDisk Cruzer 2GB (cost me a fortune) 3 years ago. I had absolutely no gripes about that flash drive (except for the annoying software). After a couple of years, I bought the 8GB Kingston DataTraveler, which also features the slider, but I had the opposite feeling; I loved the lack of intrusive software but the design was a little bulky, it prevented me from using the USB ports next to it. I love this Cruzer, even though it can only hold 15 GB--sorry for the bad news but it cannot hold 16 GB. Its slim design is perfect and doesn't encroach on other USB ports. Best of all, I just removed to annoying software, to end up with the perfect flash drive. I was warned about the performance of high capacity flash drives, but I didn't notice any degradation after I replaced my 8GB Kingston with this one. Highly recommended.

I have been a big fan of the SanDisk Cruzer Micro USB 2.0 Flash Drives, I have a 512MB, two 2GB, a 8GB and now the 16GB. All have been great no problems at all. Here are some tips for newbies to the U3 line of drives. First of all the U3 software works as they say on SanDisk web site, I know that’s a first. OK back to the tips. Q: I just need a storage drive don’t need the U3 software A: Go to the U3 Launchpad and SETTINGS then to UNINSTALL and click Uninstall U3 Launchpad Q: Is there any security software on this. A: Yes also go to Launchpad and SETTINGS then to Security and enable. Use a good password you can remember. It does work well. Last some apps I like for the U3: Skype Signup Shield Teamviewer 3 Firefox

This is a great product. It works very well for where I have all my daily, important data secured on this flash drive using a password. Make sure to backup your work on other computers in case you forget the password.

Your data is very secure using the installed U3 software. The inbuilt software doesn't work with macs. If you forget your password(password security enabled), the drive resets! It does protect your confidential information, however, you can lose all your data if password is lost. Make backups frequently. Note that the U3 software has to launched manually on some computers. Some useful software is included with U3. 16g for under $40 was nice.

The transfer of "HUGE" files has become a snap with the 16 GB cruzer. This is my second one that I've owned, given that my original was only 1 GB. Still us it also, but the heavy lifting is left in the hands of the larger Cruzer. Could not beat the price either. Buy.com rocks!

The SanDisk line has always just simply worked well. I have 3 flash drives at current, a 512 mb, 2 gig and this 16 gig. The 512 mb was chewed by a friends dog. It no longer slides in and out, but it works as well as ever. I expect nothing less than my other drives. PROs - no cap to lose, fast data transfer, dependable. CONs - does not always 'lock' open. suggestion - Tap the USB end with your finger before you try to plug it in to ensure it is locked in place

I've been using SanDisk for my flash drives since 512 MB was considered a large drive. The Cruzer Micros are by far my favorite version of their drives. They sit well on a keychain with their retracting plug, and stand up to a decent amount of abuse (being paired with keys in pockets, being dropped, etc). My only gripe is that I'm not sold on the U3 content, but it's easy to remove. Overall a great product.

I recently upgraded to this 16GB flash drive to replace my old 4GB one. It is about the same price but has 4 times of capacity. U3 programs are handy and useful. It would be perfect if the price could be lower.
