5 of 5 Great Monitor, just a little pricy Thursday, July 02, 2009
A Customer from West Palm Beach, Florida

I am running this monitor in my office on my MacBook Pro for 2 years now and am completely pleased with it. The first one arrived dead-on-arrival but was promptly exchanged by Buy.com. The second one worked without any problems ever since. Resolution is great, color and brightness pleasant for the eyes. I also like the additional USB ports provided by the monitor. I have my keyboard and mighty mouse connected to the monitor, opens USB slots on the MacBook, and when I go home, I have to detach only one USB plug. If anything is not so great, it is the price. I would recommend the monitor to anyone, but I also bought a 28" Hanns-G TFT from Buy.com lately for half the price. That one is also great, but it appears Buy.com has taken it off their products.

    5 of 5 Very Pleased Sunday, January 04, 2009
Jerry L. DeGregory from Lexington, AL
Please note that I have no basis for comparing the 275Plus with comparable, competing models. I have no other HDTV and upgraded from an aging Hitachi CM715U CRT monitor. With my limited experience in mind, I can affirm that this upgrade is a huge improvement and one with which I am very pleased. It's only weakness for my purposes is the limited audio In and Out options (e.g., nice to have optical and RCA; only has HDMI audio in and a stereo mini out. I also wish the PIP allowed the HDMI signal to be used as the inset, but using the component signal is an adequate workaround. A major motivation for my purchase was my frustration with my old ATI All-In-Wonder 600Pro's PIP, whose frequent screen lock-up's were a major irritation. Now I have excellent quality PIP functionality with no more system crashes. Final note: To get the full benefit of high def computer display, a graphics card upgrade may be advisable for some users, as it was in my case.

    5 of 5 Awesome monitor Tuesday, July 29, 2008
    Jonathan from Nashua, NH
Notably more expensive (+$300) compared to the the Samsung 245T (a 24" monitor with the same resolution, a few of which I have at work), but worth the upgrade. My wife has some vision issues, so we mocked up documents at both display sizes (24" and 27") to evaluate. The 27" is just ~18% larger, but that's quite appreciable, so we went with the 27" for her. Monitor is quite beautiful, and works nicely. Displays HD movies beautifully, and is great general purpose display as well. Samsung monitors are the best.

5 of 5 275T is good for weak eyes Friday, January 18, 2008
    A Customer from northern, FL
I bought this monitor because I had trouble seeing the smaller pixel size of standard monitors, particularly on web pages with small type sizes. The zoom software of vista helped, but did not always display well. The 275T makes things a bit larger. I only wish they had a 2540x1900 version so I could see two full web pages side by side. The 305T text was too small for me. Good quality monitor , I have never had a bad pixel with Samsung.

2 of 5 No Mac Color Profiles Thursday, January 17, 2008
John Andrade from San Antonio, Texas
I am a graphic designer and I thought this monitor would work for me. It has a default color profile that is way over saturated and looks nothing like the apple monitors I have. And Samsung offers no mac software or installable color profiles. So after fiddling with the presets and color adjustments, i ended up with a mess. I will need to buy a third party device to make a true profile to use with this monitor, and I'm only doing that because I can't return it.

    5 of 5 Picture Perfect Wednesday, December 05, 2007
    b samuel from newark, nj
The first impression when opening the package is how HUGE this monitor is. I had waffled between 24" and 27" but decided to bite the bullet. I'm glad I did. When first connected, the colors are much more vivid than my old monitor (17" crt) and I didn't need to calibrate much. The gamma setting was a bit high that can be adjusted. There are preset color/brightness settings but I preferred to use the Custom option. Additionally, there is a dynamic contrast ratio that boosts it to 3000:1, but I haven't found that degree of contrast necessary in my environment. Games play great, with nearly no ghosting and minimal image blur (better than most LCDs I think). I can't stress the size of the screen, I had to push it to the back of my desk to see the entire screen without turning my head. But the size pays dividends as well when watching movies, playing games, working on multiple windows. Also, I had 0 dead pixels which was a concern with online retailers return policies. For a little bit more cash you could buy a behemoth 30" (if you have the desk area and vision for it) so I give it only 4 stars in value. When the price drops to be more proportionate between a 24" and 30" it will be 5 stars. Nonetheless, I am thrilled with this monitor and glad I chose this size and model over another brand. Also, Buy.com was awesome. Took their free shipping and still had it in 1 business day.

    5 of 5 Picture Perfect Tuesday, December 04, 2007
    B-- from Newark, NJ
My first impression when I unpacked the monitor was WOW, HUGE! I was coming from a 17" CRT, so the size seemed more profound. I had to move it to the back of my desk to view the entire screen without tilting my head. This monitor received excellent reviews on different tech sites and I can see why. Once I plugged it in, the colors appeared more vivid and true-to-life. The gamma was a little high but otherwise no real need for calibration. There are some preset settings but I preferred to use the custom option and manually adjust. There are sufficient inputs, but use DVI for your PC. Also, I had 0 dead pixels which is something I worry about with online orders and return policies. In FPS gaming, there was minimal image blur and the occasional ghosting, but much less than other LCD's I've played on. Movies also came across well on the monitor (don't forget to calibrate the gamma for better blacks!). There is a dynamic contrast ratio that pushes it up to 3000:1 supposedly, but I haven't cared to use that. For a slightly higher price you can get a 30" for a true behemoth, so the price needs to drop a little more to make it a 5 star value between 24" and 30" monitors. Nonetheless, I am extremely satisfied with the monitor and glad I chose this 27" over other brands.

    5 of 5 Picture perfect! Sunday, November 25, 2007
    W from Newark, NJ
I have used a 17" (16" viewable) CRT for the past 5 years and it was past time to get a new monitor. I was undecided between a 24" and 27" LCD. After reading multiple tech and customer reviews I decided to bite the bullet and purchase the 275T. I'm glad I did. Considering my previous monitor, this is huge. I have to set it towards the back of my computer table so I can see the entire screen. (I'm glad I didn't buy the 30" I would have had to tilt my head.) The color reproduction is excellent, minimal need for calibration. Gamma needed to be turned down though for deeper black. Games run smoothly; ghosting was barely visible (I had to look for it). The price is the only reason I gave it 4 stars for value. I probably would have been happy with a 24" but I'm glad I went with this one. Make sure you have space for it; I repeat, it is huge! If you can afford it, buy it. Once the price drops a bit, I would recommend this without caveats.

    5 of 5 Picture perfect! Saturday, November 24, 2007
    W from Newark, NJ
This monitor is fantastic. I have been using a 17" (16" viewable) flat screen CRT for nearly the past 5 years at home and it was past time to move up to a larger screen and LCD. Based on reviews on various tech sites my choice was between a 24" and 27". I decided to bite the bullet and pay the premium (that's why I docked 1 star for value) for a 27". I am so glad I did. The monitor is awesome. The color reproduction is near perfect and minimal calibration can fix that; 0 dead pixels; the screen is so huge that multiple windows are not an issue. I personally don't find the pixel size to be too large (as some reviews suggest). Response time was great in games, with slight image blur when you're looking for it (I'm told less evident than in most LCDs). Gamma needed to be corrected a little as well. Sufficient input sources. The viewable area is really large; a 30" would be too large, requiring tilting your head to see the entire screen. Buy.com's free shipping had it to me within 1 business day. If the price isn't an issue, I wholeheartedly recommend this monitor over a 24". Once the price drops a little, it's recommended without any caveats.
