5 of 5 Cool printer. Thursday, July 13, 2006 A Customer from Santa Clara, CA
Really happy with the performance of the printer, scanner and copier after 6 months of usage. No issues as all. Very cost effective of course. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 I like this printer Sunday, January 22, 2006 A Customer from Los Angeles, CA
Easy to set up and use. I love the built in network connectivity and ability to print wirelessly. The start up time is slow and the scan function is also slow, but the print quality is great. Was this review helpful?

4 of 5 Good product for the value Thursday, December 08, 2005 A Customer from Plano, TX
I just got the printer and tried all three functions. Here's my observations. As a printer it prints out very good quality pages. The default darkness is on the light side. As a scaner, it scans equal or better than my old Umax 1200. As a copier it did not perform better than the Canon personal copier. I can tell that it is a digital copier and the line edge is not smooth. Nevertheless, it is acceptable. Compare to the size of the printer, it has a small toner. Overall, it is very good for the value (after rebate) and it also let me save some desk space by replacing three mahcines. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Inexpensive good laser printer Saturday, November 19, 2005 qureshif from Los Angeles, CA
Just hooked it up. Does all it promises but the scan function in slow. I was able to network it and am very happy that I can print wirelessly from my laptop. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 We have over a dozen. They work great. Thursday, September 29, 2005 A Customer from Memphis, TN
It's not a speedy printer. We have had 1 unit that gave us trouble out of the box but the Samsung support was great and replaced it for us. You can't beat the feature set and reliability for the price. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Not bad for the price! Thursday, September 08, 2005 A Customer from Broken Bow, OK
Bought two of this about 6 months ago. One for home and another for a college student. They are great machines considering the price. The next best choice would be a brother MFC-9700. If you do mostly printing and copying, then buy the Samsung. I have not been able to find a better deal elsewhere. However, if you prefer to have a machine to do occasional faxing/quality photo-scans(slower), get a Brother MFC 9700 which cost $250-$350. Samsung cartridges are a little more expensive. They are beginning to market them the same way they do inkjet printers (low on the printer, high on consumables). Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Nice little gadget for the $$$$$$ Wednesday, August 31, 2005 Brian from Hooksett, NH
Ordered one of these to replace an old aging Canon PC-1 single sheet feed copier. I was pleasently suprised when I opened the box and began using the machine. It's built better and sturdier than most low priced peripherals. It's relatively quiet compared to my laser printers. It makes a perfect copy
in about the same amount of time as most personal copiers.
Don't buy this machine if your expecting an expensive high speed copier because it's not, but it IS a nice little home office copier with the scanner/printer options thrown in as a perk...
BUY.COM delivered it fast and for free........... Was this review helpful?

Wife wanted easy copier. I wanted scanner options. Laser printing was a plus. Reviewed several other models (big name), and spoke to some techies. Saw this one and grabbed it. Mono printing is a drawback, but older cheaper(ink) color ink jet fills the void. Up in running in no time. Easy setup in usb versus parallel. Scans a little slow, copies quickly and are ok, printer is perfect. Size isn't much bigger than a regular sized printer. Fax option would be appreciated. Has bulk paper feeder. Also has a single paper feeder which you must manually feed --> not so good. Home users get one... Was this review helpful?

We have had this printer/copier for about 6 months and absolutely love it in our home office. The copier function is very easy and handy. Printing is clean, crisp and quick. We have printed over 3,000 items and haven't had any paper jams, etc. It is a very good value for the money. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Outstanding Tuesday, March 22, 2005 A Customer from Blountstown Florida
Printer was up and running in about 15 minutes from the time UPS delivered it. I am completely satified with all aspects of it it from the copier to the scanner and especially the laser printer. It is a so much better than our ink jet printers and much more economical. I am just a little disapointed that Samsung didn't include a full toner with the printer purchase but that is the only complaint I have. I highly recommend it. Was this review helpful?

I had it set up and running in 15 minutes. Excellent output from both the printing and copying function. If you print mostly text, this is an perfect alternative to expensive injet printing. Perfect for student or home use. Great value! Was this review helpful?

I've only had the unit for a week however my initial reaction is very favorable. I had it out of the box and printing in 20 minutes or less. High quality output for both printing and copying. I was actually quite pleasantly surprised at the copy output. I had reservations about how good the copy function could be at that price level, but I would say that it is on par with machines costing quite a bit more. I don't expect to use the scanning function so I'll reserve comment on that. The only weakness I've found is the display. Really should be backlit. Very difficult to read unless you have good room light. Aside from that, I would say that the SCX-4100 should be a very capable, relatively inexpensive machine for students and home office users. After I bought this multi-function printer, I was really happy with this. To use for the home-office, this is gonna be a perfect gizmo. Really easy to use, and perfect for simple copy at home. And for scanning, if you are not a professional, you would 100% satisfy with that. I really recommend this stuff. Was this review helpful?

It is hard to beat this combination unit for the price. Warm up is quick. Printing is fast. Text is nice and dark. I doubt that this would be great for a busy office, but for a home office or personal use it is a very good deal. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 What a great printer for Windows and Linux! Thursday, December 23, 2004 Very Satisfied Customer from Pasadena, MD
If you are interested in a cheap, fast laser printer that has both windows and linux configurations out-of-the-box, then the Samsung SCX-4100 is your printer! The CD has install scripts for both environments, with a GUI wizard that sets up the multi-function printer console program. The quality of the print is excellent -- you can't go wrong with this product! Was this review helpful?

5 of 10 customers found this review helpful. 3 of 5 OK for the money. Thursday, December 16, 2004 A Customer from St. Paul, MN
This Samsung multi-func printer work OK and is a good value for the price, but it is rather flimsy in construction, and fails some expected functionality, e.g,., it won't take continuous manual feeds of paper; the manual feed is very picky, often feeding the page at an angle, tearing the edges; it won't scan directly to a different printer (like a color printer; at least I can't figure out how to do it). Although it handles legal size paper, the scanner only handles regular 8x11 size.
Be aware of what you're buying and plan accordingly. Was this review helpful?

I bought this Samsung multi-functional printer about three weeks ago. When I first installed it, I used it to make a copy of my rebate forms. :) It works alone without a computer, just like a real copier machine except that it is much smaller, less noisy and not too fast. Actually, it is much faster than I expected, maybe because it uses laser printing, not a slow pricy inkjet printing. Its size is about the same as normal laser printers, but it has a slim scanner right inside the top. It also works very nice as a laser printer. I tried to compare this with my friend's Brother H1440, but I couldn't tell any notable differences in the outputs. According to their product specifications, Brother has better resolution, and Samsung has more memory, and they are the same in speed. This multi-functional machine couldn't be a choice for printing color photos, but I believe it offers awesome value for the money. Was this review helpful?

This printer-copier-scanner served my homeschooling/home office requirements: laser sharp printing, occasional copying, and occasional scanning. I am very impressed with the print quality. It is much better than my old inkjet printer. The machine does an excellent job in copying. The copy is as good, if not better than what I get from copying at Kinkos, and I dont have to get out to the store to make just a few copies. I can even reduce and enlarge the copying in a limit scope too.
The scanning is below par. I tried scanning a 4x6 photo from this machine, and the picture has a faint horizontal and vertical matte overlay onto it. Increasing the resolution of the scanning to 600x600dpi helped but did not completely eliminate the problem. I dont think I can throw away my standalone scanner yet.
The machine does not come with an USB or cable to connect to a printer port. I have to go out to get a 6 foot USB cable to run the machine. The machine is noisy when it runs too.
All in all, considering the price that I paid for this 3-in-1 machine, this is an excellent buy. It is inexpensive and rather convenient. My computation is that it will take about 2.2 cents for each page of printing or copying. Now I wish that they have had the faxing capability. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Nice budget laser printer and scanner Thursday, December 02, 2004 Elomage from Pittsburgh, PA
Very nice performance. Not too loud. Has both USB and LPT ports. Documentation show support for LINUX. Standalone copy machine. Quality is 600DPI, perfect for text. Pictures slightly fuzzy, but that is not really the purpose of this printer.
One problem is that I do not know if it is possible to scan by pushing a button on the printer, which would be nice. Pushing a button leads to making a copy...
I like it, I'll keep it. I recommend. Was this review helpful?
