I think Samsung has a great product here but it needs a faster processor especially with Vista. With the new dual core ultra small PCs out I would have liked to see newer processor options for these devices. That being said, the price is great and as a travel PC, these things are fantastic. I use VOIP, PPT, video, etc. but you really are limited to one application at a time. Also, the boot times are miserablely slow even with the SD card and 2Gig of memory. Keeping it asleep is good but given this is a portable device means you are always draining your battery.
I have the original Q1 but this revision is much better. The screen is fantastic and usable. The integrated keyboard is useful as well as it is viable for small text entries like web surfing without the external keyboard (but I use the external keyboard for more advanced applications).
As a travel PC, this thing rocks. You can't beat it on an airplane as you can get the PC, a keyboard and a mouse all on the tray in front of you. Was this review helpful?

This is the first fully-functional, full-featured PC of this size for less than $1,000. The display is outstanding, as you would expect from Samsung. The built in buttons for a qwerty keyboard is a bonus, although the size of the buttons make it difficult to use for a person with large fingers.
The versatility is enhanced with bluetooth - we bought a fold-up bluetooth keyboard that is an ideal companion to the PC.
This can easily replace a larger laptop for traveling, and is a perfect solution for use by a doctor, nurse or therapist in a clinical setting. Was this review helpful?

This umpc has everything I expected except the fingerprint reader. Don't be fooled by the advertised picture. I contacted the manufacturer and they say the umpc w/fingerprint reader is q1 u-cmv. The model # and picture are incorrect on the buy.com web site. I had the option of returning the product, but after using it for a week I couldn't part with it... Great product for the money...
p.s. you will have to update the network adapter driver from the samsung website for your internet connection to work properly. Was this review helpful?
