4 of 5 Good one! Thursday, October 22, 2009
Ramakrishna from SLC, UT

The netbook gives everything that it promises. You may want to consider the 12 inch samsung netbook or the N120 series which has more features than this.

4 of 5 I like it! Tuesday, July 07, 2009
Mikey Vig from Worcester,MA.
I only gave this netbook a 4 across the boards because like most I also had to order the extra gig o ram to upgrade to 2gigs immediately, as far as the size of the keyboard etc. it just takes some getting used to, Ive only been using this Samsung netbook a few days so maybe too soon to tell but "SO FAR SO GOOD" I would reccommend this netbook to a friend immediately, Its just large enough to pass for a computer and still small enough to hide anywhere!..............Good luck buying but if your shopping right now I say look no further, I shopped for a month and did all the research for you......BUY This netbook!!

5 of 5 Winner Sunday, June 14, 2009
Greg B. from Baton Rouge La.
Nice, compact and capable, also stylish and durable. My experience was a little different. When I received my netbook the box was punctured by a forklift, and the Samsung was hit in the LCD panel, needless to say I was very dissapointed, But even though the surface was obviously impacted and scratched it still worked flawlessly. After serious thought I decided to exchange it, I actually hated to send it back. But, within 2 or 3 weeks I had a brand new undamaged one. Now, I am just browsing at Buy.com and have read all the great reviews, How about that! Look's like I made a good choice!

5 of 5 Great traveling companion! Wednesday, May 27, 2009
Warrior from Richland, WA
The NC-10 is really a great netbook computer. I've owned several Samsung products and have found them to be exemplary in all respects. This includes cell phones, HD televisions and laptops. You really need to look at the Samsung products if you are thinking about purchasing electronics today. In past years I don't think I could have said that, but I surely can now. Everyone should be aware that the netbooks are kind of an "all the same" model type of computer. Much of this is driven by the chips that power the netbooks, and Intel and Microsoft have controlled this pretty tightly. Having said that, here are some things that distinguish the Samsung product. One is that the Samsung has a panel on the bottom of the computer that allows you to easily replace the memory chip without actually opening up the entire computer case. This is important because opening the entire case voids your warranty, but opening up the memory part of the case does not. Of course if a problem with your computer is traceable to the memory upgrade Samsung will not cover that. First thing you do is buy a 2GB memory chip and replace the installed 1GB memory chip. This upgrade speeds up the computer by allowing more caching of disk reads and is worth the investment. Be aware that all of the netbooks I have looked at have single memory slots, so this means that if you are upgrading you have to pull out the 1GB memory and replace it with a 2GB memory card. This increases the price to roughly double the price of a 1GB memory card. Two things I really like about the Samsung in addition are the battery life and the LCD screen. Samsung includes a 6-cell battery that gives much better life than the 2-3 cell batteries I have seen on other netbooks. So far it seems easily good for 4-6 hours, but I haven't really broken the system in yet so that could increase in the future. Don't believe the inflated battery life claimed by some competitors. The LCD screen is a low reflection screen with a lot of brightness. What this means to you is that you won't have the distracting reflections off the screen, but you will be able to see it clearly under many ambient light conditions. The glossy screens look great inside in lower light, but clearly break down with reflections from overhead light and in sunlight. This model of computer is frequently noted for its screen brightness, and rightfully so. Samsung provides a software utility that allows you to change the screen resolution from 1024 x 600 to 1024 x 768 which is kind of nice if you want more screen space in the 10" display. I really love the keyboard, which is a point of contention for many netbooks. I am a fast typist and I have big fingers and the Samsung allows me to fly across the keyboard. It clearly is not as big as my keyboard on my desktop but it is quite adequate for the real typists in the bunch. One of the things I have found with the Samsung products is that they do not fill their computers with a lot of bloatware. I like that a lot since it tends to fill up the disks with things that you will never really use. Samsung includes some usefull utilities that really help you out, including a driver update utility that will automatically search for updates on the web for you. I'm a business traveller who has used laptops for the better part of 15 years and am pretty critical of what I buy. The NC-10 was a really good buy because it offers a lot of value for the dollar. You can buy cheapter netbooks, but I'm not sure you can buy better netbooks. Consumer Reports rates the NC-10 as the number one choice, and maybe that should be good enough for your choice.

5 of 5 It can hang with the big boys. Buy it. Wednesday, May 20, 2009
A Customer from San Francisco, CA
By far it has reached all my expectations. Great for home and work (VPN & on-site). I use it for Skype, Gtalk, Microsoft Outlook (using my works exchange server), Microsoft Visio, SnagIt, VLC, Cyberlink PowerDVD,Canon LED scanner, WinRAR, Microsoft Office. Mic, Video Camera, and speakers are great. Also the Bluetooth is awesome. I sync my bluetooth mouse and BlueAnt mobile speaker phone. Battery life is about 6 hrs. I would highly recommend this netbook to anyone. I almost forgot to say no problems with wifi. Connected instantly to home and work easily. Side note. Only upgrade I did was I upgraded the RAM to 2gb. I think a must have if you're gonna be using Microsoft Office and have a bunch of applications running in the background. I also used my netbook for Backtrack 3

5 of 5 Great Little Computer! Monday, May 18, 2009
A Customer from New Orleans, LA
The best thing about this computer is the battery life! It just keeps going and going and going! Plus, the portability is pretty nice... My wife and I are frequently "debating" who gets to take it out (even though it is hers!). You will need the screen resize function handy (just a simple key combination) for those hi-res websites, but otherwise, great computer. My boss saw it and went and bought one!

5 of 5 Wonderful Saturday, May 09, 2009
Bob from Ballwin, MO
What a plessure to have a product that is worth every penny. This netbook works flawlessly. So compact and, with the long battery, life I don't need to carry a bunch of accessories. The touch pad is very sensitive (never liked them in the first place) so I use a mini retractable cord mouse instead--much easier and more familiar. Bought a WD external HD to tranfer movies to view when traveling which is less expensive per GB than a flash drive.

5 of 5 Worth every penny Sunday, May 03, 2009
JWizzz from Gambrills, MD
I read the reviews, and was concerned about things like touchpad and speaker volume, but neither really are a concern. I find that both are at least satisfactory, especially since I can carry around a small Netbook instead of the "brick". Go see one in a store, or check out a friend's Netbook first... they are small, it's hard to see whole pages, there's no CD. Yeah, duh. But it runs for 7 hours without a charge and weighs/takes up less than most of the books I have to carry. Screen is bright, 3 USB's are nice, and the VGA out is key for me. I couldn't go for the Eee PC's or others that only have SSD drives, the 160 GB drive is massive for this size PC. All around, it's great.

5 of 5 Great Birthday Gift Sunday, April 26, 2009

I gave this to my wife for her birthday. She loves it, especially the keyboard and the long battery charge life. Outstanding product and it certainly beats hauling around a heavy laptop when you don't have to. Considering buying one for myself.

5 of 5 Quality Product Sunday, March 29, 2009
Anne from Asheville, NC
This little computer is far better than what I expected. It's not underpowered like other netbooks - it's fast, it's boots up quick, and is easy to use. I bought it for its portablility, and am very pleased with it. The battery life is GREAT, too. Just remember that this is a smaller display, and if you have a blog page you may have to tweak the settings for it to look right. If you like to add programs that you can't download from a website, consider buying an external DVD drive. Also, be aware that the mouse touchpad is very small. This is made for portability, after all. I'm probably going to get a wireless mouse for extended surfing sessions. Oh, and you CAN replace the one GB ram chip with a two GB chip. But you may not need to.

5 of 5 Better than the rest Monday, March 16, 2009
A Customer from Hailey, Idaho
This great little netbook is well worth the extra money. The keyboard is almost full size and easy to use. Performance is very fast, even before the simple memory upgrade to 2GB. Even with my big hands, I have no trouble using the smallish touchpad. Outstanding battery life, great webcam, great looks. I recommend this over cheaper netbooks.

5 of 5 Great product! Very happy with my purchase! Sunday, March 15, 2009
A Customer from Arizona
DISCLAIMER--This is the only "netbook" I have owned so my review cannot be compared to other similar priced notebooks. EASE OF USE--It's a computer running Windows XP, about as easy to use as any other computer running Windows XP. PERFORMANCE--After reading reviews online I was scared that it might run slow or be very choppy. If you are using this computer only for school/word processing/power point/light gaming or older games, YOU WILL BE FINE. I have itunes, firefox, powerpoint and a anti-virus open and I have zero slow down, runs just as good as if you just started it up. It also lasts 7hrs easily at 30% brightness, which is more than sufficient to see the screen. Great wireless card, and the atom processor/160gb hard drive accesses info incredibly quickly, it is just as fast as my old Pentium 4 laptop. VALUE--On the mid-high end of "netbooks" (in my opinion), its a great buy. I felt having a longer battery life is better than having Wireless N, which I could get from a USB addition. OVERALL SATISFACTION--works perfectly as a school computer, I love carrying it with me, it is not a hassle at all. Also if you want a conversation starter just take it out, you will have everyone walking by you comment on its size. I even use it at my home on my couch, the 10in screen is the perfect size to stay light and comfortable.

5 of 5 THE PERFECT PACKAGE Monday, March 09, 2009
A Customer from TX
This computer is GREAT. It was even delivered in a little portable box with a handle on it. How cute is that? The Samsung NC10 is INCREDIBLY portable, light, and easy to use. The keyboard is very close to a regular size keyboard. 10 inches is perfect. I'm a small person, and I couldn't even type on a 8.9 inch computer. That says a lot. This is a very high quality mini-laptop with 3 USB ports, perfect size keyboard, and even a webcam. It's very light as well. The touchpad is a decent size. If you use a two-finger scroll program, you can pretty much "extend" the touchpad. This computer is so small, there's no CD drive! It's ok though because you can just buy a separate portable CD drive. It's not like people use the CD drive constantly anyways. The Samsung even comes with a little microfiber case. So when you put it in your bag, nothing will scratch it. Oh, and this computer is very fast. Boots up just like that. The Samsung NC10 is the most portable and reasonable computer out there. And $415 is a great price for it. The battery even lasts for 6 hours... you can actually make it last longer if you change the battery settings to save more power. It's amazing. My friends were amazed by this computer when I showed them. THIS ONE'S A KEEPER!! =)

5 of 5 Everything you would want in a netbook Monday, February 16, 2009
Gug from Harrisburg, Pa
After using this netbook for two weeks it is hard to find anything of real value wrong with it. It has longer than average battery life, fast enough to do what most want a netbook do, small enough to go anywhere--say good by to that clunky laptop and save some money over a new laptop.

5 of 5 Don't judge this netbook by it's size!!! Saturday, February 14, 2009
A Customer from Washington DC
The keyboard is just a big, and the onboard specs just as hefty, as the full laptop (Panasonic Toughbook) I used at my federal agency for over 3 years. Samsung has solved many of the aggravations with touchpads; this one isn't super-sensitive, so I don't accidentally tap-select all the time, and the scroll bar on the side of the touchpad comes in handy. I'll be using this with a USB docking arrangement, LCD monitor, keyboard, trackball and external keyboard at home. On the road, it will replace the widescreen "boat anchor" I've been dragging around the country. I couldn't be more pleased. This is a real computer, not just a web surfer.

5 of 5 Great Product Saturday, February 14, 2009
A Customer from Charlotte, NC
The Samsung NC-10 is definatly worth the money! It is well built, sturdy, fast, easy to use and easy to upgrade. I run the internet, Office 2007, AIM, World OF Warcraft and others on it with no problem. The 6-cell battery gives 7-hours of life out of box. The single screw RAM door on the bottom allowed me to upgrade the RAM literally in minutes. While the touchpad is small, if you disable the side scrolling features it feels much bigger, and you can download a program to enable 2-finger scrolling. If you are looking for a netbook that will do everything you need and more, this is the one for you!!!

4 of 5 Good for it's intended use Saturday, January 24, 2009
A Customer from Wenatchee, WA
Works well, plenty fast for the internet and nontaxing applications. My main complaint is the touchpad/button. I have big hands and it's not really easy to use. You can't feel the edge of the touchpad since it's flush with the computer so there is no point of reference for the scroll bar so I always miss it. I have noticed that the computer has frozen up 3 or 4 times coming out of resume which is pretty annoying. Batterly life seems to be 4-6 hours although I only use it 20-30 minutes at a time.

4 of 5 Great system for the money, but HP mini might be b Tuesday, January 20, 2009
naruto from nyc
I bought this system because of great specs and the 6 cell battery, which is about 6 hours of normal use for me. Everything is nice, big keyboard, nice screen, 3 USB ports, easy upgrade access panels. The only thing I am disappointed in this system are the speakers, it's very low even if you turn everything up. The EEE and HP has better speakers. Also my friend has an HP mini and it has a 92% of an full keyboard and the samsung has a 93%, but the hp's keyboard feels bigger because the buttons are a bit bigger. HP does lack the 6 cell but the size totally make up for it, its a lot smaller than the samsung. But if you are going for the specs and battery life, samsung is the right choice, but for mobility, I would pick hp mini. Also keep in mind hp mini lacks the VGA ports, which is why it's so thin.

5 of 5 Great Netbook Thursday, January 08, 2009
VR from PIttsburgh, PA
I bought this netbook after lots of comparisons. The big selling points for me were the battery life (excellent) and the near normal size keyboard. I also wanted something bigger than the 8.9" netbooks out there. It's perfect for taking with you on trips or to the local coffee shop.

5 of 5 Perfect Wednesday, January 07, 2009
Bill from Harrisburg, PA
I bought this for my fiance for Christmas since she was always complaining about her bulky slow laptop. After looking into several of the netbooks I chose this one because it was 10" vs. the 8" by some others. Plus it was much more appealing being a Samsung. It is great if you are looking specifically for a "net" book to access the internet and email that you can pack away in a purse and take with you. I just may buy another one for myself. Oh I almost forgot to mention.....the battery lasts foreeeeever on this. Compared to normal size laptop this thing is amazing on battery.

Light, great for traveling. Long battery life. The laptop itself is sufficient enough for surfing, emailing and chatting online. I upgraded the RAM to 2GB, so that I could play simple online games. The keyboard size is good. I still use my 14 in. laptop though coz I prefer big screen.

5 of 5 Best Small Computer Ever! Friday, January 02, 2009

This little netbook is amazing. It does just about everything a large laptop can do but with half the size and weight. With a 160GB hard drive and memory upgradable to 2GB it is more than I expected. Samsung got it right with this one.

5 of 5 Perfect size netbook great battery life. Wednesday, December 31, 2008
A Customer from Charleston, IL
I love the Samsung NC10. I had an Eee Surf before and it was just too small. The Samsung keyboard is almost regular size and I really like the dark blue color. The only thing I wish I could have gotten was Linux Ubuntu instead of XP. The battery on this netbook is awesome, 6-7 hours.

4 of 5 Just shy of the perfect Netbook Tuesday, December 30, 2008
Captain C from Atlanta Ga
I really wanted to give this netbook a perfect score but it just misses the mark by a hair. I'll explain. Prior to owning the Samsung, I had an Acer Aspire One which I what I'm using to compare to the Samsung. I returned it because the screen was too small for me (8.9 in), the battery life was terrible (less than 2 hrs), and the keyboard was just too small! The Samsung addressed all these issues and I felt it was going to be the perfect answer for me. It is perfect except as noted below. The screen size is just right at 10 inches, the keyboard is really great, and the battery life is outstanding (I can get about 6+ hrs). The Samsung performance is virtually the same as any of the Atom processor notebooks (no complaints), the wireless works great, the large hard drive provides ample storage, the ports are more than adequate so overall is sounds perfect. So why not give this Netbook a 10? Well, here's where it misses the mark. The build quality while excellent is just not up to the Acer Aspire One. While the blue covers are about the same, the rest just seems a bit 'cheaper' overall. Not much, but if you like Toshiba type quality, this misses that mark...slightly. The screen while very nice is just not as nice as the screen on the Acer or our Toshiba laptop. I give the screen a 9. The internal sound card is probably the weakest part. Forget the speakers on any Netbook/Notebook/Laptop. I use a custom headset to listen to music and I can hear a noticeable quality difference between the Samsung and the Acer and our Toshiba. I give the internal sound card a 8.5. Note that the video quality is excellent! It's been well documented in reviews that the touchpad is a bit small. Yes, it is but I use a portable wireless mouse most of the time so it's a non issue. When I have to use the touchpad, it's OK. Sure it could be bigger but for me it's fine. I give the touchpad a 9 maybe even a 9.5. Lastly, price. I purchased my shortly after it was released. I'm sure it will come down some. I think it's slightly overpriced. But price is a difficult thing to determine. So, do I recommend this Netbook, yes I do. I'll be curious to see the new Acer Aspire One with the 10 inch screen and six cell battery. When that comes out, we'll know how the Samsung really rates in the 10" netbook arena. Until then, it's the best of the bunch. I hope you found my review helpful. If your on the fence, would I would buy this Netbook again! You bet!

5 of 5 Best Netbook Out there Sunday, December 28, 2008
Vinny from Leesburg, VA
Simply a great Netbook. If you are going to get one, this is the one to get. Overall size, keyboard is a good size, battery life is awesome, and it's fast. Coming from an older Centrino laptop, I actually think this one is faster. Lots of people complain about the size of the mouse pad but surprisingly, neither myself or significant other seem to notice. The only thing that people may have an issue with is the 10" screen. If there was a 12" or 13" model, with the same features, I think I would do that instead.

5 of 5 Great Computer Sunday, December 21, 2008
Kim from Seattle, WA
I've always been one to buy the big laptop with the big screen but I was convinced to change my tune. This computer is great. It's battery lasts forever! I have the 6 cell battery and I bet it lasts 8 hours. I carried it in my purse when I flew this last week and I hardly noticed it. It is so light and easy to take anywhere with you. The keyboard is easy to type on. I typed on other Netbooks trying to get myself geared up for the smaller keyboard and I was getting worried about my purchase but when it came the keyboard seems to be about the same size as a normal laptop. I have no problem typing. I really have no complaints about this computer. It's light, it's fast, the hard drive is decent size and the battery lasts forever! I'm really pleased with my purchase!

5 of 5 I recommend this for others Saturday, December 20, 2008
A Customer from annapolis, md
I love this netbook. My parents were jealous, so they got one too. Very convenient, and on a recent trip, I had several people inquire about my netbook. I love the long battery life. I would definitely recommend this to others.
