5 of 5 Wonderful but for the power draw Tuesday, July 08, 2008
David from Woburn (Boston), MA

I bought this to replace a Samsung ML-1210 because after rebate it was $50 (I trust the rebate will arrive eventually.) I'm a light user, mostly only for snail mail, very few pages per month. I'm pleased I can still use my Centronics cable because that leaves one more USB slot. I've just installed it, which was very easy, and printed a few pages. It seems fast enough. I wish the footprint were smaller. As others have said, the power draw is scary. It's on a good-sized battery backup. I'll have to move it to a different circuit, which is a shame because I won't be able to use the multi-device SurgeMaster switches under my monitor to turn it on and off. There were no data cables in the box, which would be an issue if this weren't a replacement.

4 of 5 Good printer but annoying current draw every 10 se Wednesday, June 18, 2008
A Customer from Houston, TX
It is a small printer does what it claims: economical, good print quality. Only but unavoidable negative: it draws current every 10 seconds before power save mode kicks in. It is really annoying that lights blinks and UPS chimes every 10 seconds. Tried located to different outlets in the study with no success. Noted, only my old APC UPS picks up the draws. The newer Belkin does not seem mind. But the lights.... Oh my.... My older Samsung ML-1450 never does this. I bought this one with rebate so price was really good but would reconsider if I know this. Knock off one points for not home office friendly.

4 of 5 Samsung ML-2510 Laser Printer Monday, May 12, 2008
Tony from Denver, Colorado
Very good printer. The quality is good. The only thing I don't like is when the paper is out of printer, it is in the bottom shelf of the printer in stead of from top part of the printer.

5 of 5 Big Performance - Small Footprint Monday, May 12, 2008
A Customer from Yorba Linda, CA
I have used a Samsung ML-2010 for a couple of years and been thoroughly satisfied. My spouse uses a 3-in-1 color injet printer on another computer. Color cartridges are too costly and really not necessary for most print jobs, so I recommended the Samsung ML-2510 as a second printer for regular use on that computer to supplement the inkjet printer when color is needed. It is easy to switch printers. We are delighted with the speed and efficiency of both our Samsung printers. We both use the toner saver mode and find it plenty adequate. The unit is NOT noisy. Terrific little unit that we highly recommend. The only caution we give is: DO NOT PLUG THIS PRINTER INTO THE SAME POWER SOURCE AS YOUR COMPUTER. PLUG IT INTO A SEPARATE WALL OUTLET. I had forgotten that admonition I had read online, and I plugged the cord into the same surge protector with my computer. Everything connected lost power, requiring disconnection of everything plugged in and resetting the button on the power source. The printer was connected to another wall outlet and everything was up and running.

4 of 5 Does the work, except envelopes Monday, May 05, 2008
A Customer from Santa Clara, CA
Great value for price. Real money saver with per-page cost. Easy to set up. Reasonable print quality. Messed a standard #10 enveloped a little - still better than my inkjet.

5 of 5 Superb value Sunday, May 04, 2008
Casey from Bellevue, WA
Bought this to replace an ink jet printer that was rarely used for printing pictures so the ink always dried up and cost a forturne to replace. This was easy to set up and works great. I live in a new house so there is ample power and I don't have the lights dimming during the power up. With the paper loaded it looks a bit funkier than the product picture since the front door has to be opened and there is a clear plastic cover that fits over the paper stack. just not that clean a look. The paper tray in my Brother HL 5040 is completely enclosed. Runs and prints fine.

1 of 5 Broken right out of the box Thursday, May 01, 2008
A Customer from Western, WI
Got it today - yay! Took it out of the box and set it up - which went very well. Plugged it in and turned it on. Right away, my UPS (which was plugged into a different outlet on the same circuit) started freaking out and clicking. I wasn't concerned about that since I can pull another circuit for the printer. But it doesn't seem to be because of power draw, but that the printer has some kind of wacky back feed that messes with the UPS circuitry. Anyway - the printer couldn't move a sheet of paper through itself without jamming. That's right - not one sheet was successfully fed. Junk - I won't be asking for another.

5 of 5 Quick Little Laser Sunday, March 09, 2008
A Customer from Los Angeles, CA
I purchased the Samsung ML-2510 in February 2008 because we needed to replace an old, but reliable HP LaserJet III. We also have several Brother HL-5140 laser printeres in the office. We set-up the Samsung as a shared printer on our network and it works great. Quicker than the Brother units and even envelopes seem to print just fine although you have to feed one at a time. No complaints as of now and for $50 after rebates can't really complain.

5 of 5 Excellent Printer. Excellent Price. Saturday, March 08, 2008
RTR from Schaumburg, IL
The Samsung ML-2510 laser printer beats expectations. And with the rebate offer that was available at the time of purchase, it cost less than two black inkjet cartridges for the color printer it replaced for B/W work. Setup was very simple. I'm using a serial interface instead of USB. That's a nice option, since I would have had to buy both a USB cable and a USB hub in order to make the connections. Speed is as promised. In fact, it might be a bit better than specified. In my tests, printing simple text, or text with small graphic elements, output borders on 30ppm. The noise level while printing however, is a bit on the high side. IOW it's not the quietest printer I've ever used. Envelope printing is adequate. It would have been nice if the machine had been designed with an optional "straight-through" paper path. As it is, envelopes follow the same curved path as standard paper. Even with that minor caveat, the ML-2510 is an excellent performer. I print about 500 pages-per-month. It works great for that volume. If you have higher requirements, I might look at something else. Bottom line is that to print that number of pages with my inkjet would cost $420 in inkjet cartridges over the the 3000-page life expectancy of the toner cartridge/drum. It's hard to go wrong with this printer.

4 of 5 Watch the shipping. Thursday, March 06, 2008
A Customer from Morrisville, NC
The printer works as advertised. Out of the box no problems. Item arrived in good shape and operational. I made the mistake of buying a printer cable with the printer, which winged me for shipping costs. You add in the shipping, and the cost of a cable you can buy at Radio Shack just doubled.

5 of 5 A good printer for the price. Monday, March 03, 2008
A Customer from Meriden. CT
Not sure what those complaints about power are. The product runs as specified, and works as advertised - period. Its a great printer for the price, and the quality is extremely good. Those complaining about power (if plugging it into a UPS) have to ensure that their UPS can deliver enough power (calculate total wattage of all peripherals connect to your backup UPS), otherwise your UPS may very well reset. This printer should not be compared to an inkjet for power draw, as it does draw a bit more, I suspect due to the heating element, because its A LASER PRINTER! Otherwise use the wall outlet - (no power strips). This printer is quiet, good quality, has both parallel AND USB interfaces. Two snaps up in a circle.
