Samsung LN40B630 - 40" Widescreen 1080p LCD HDTV - 120Hz - 80,000:1 Dynamic Contrast Ratio - 4ms Response Time

For a grand, it's not a bad t.v. That being said, there are a few problems with it. Surprisingly enough, t.v.s of this type don't do all that well on regular cable or satellite. You should expect this. Despite the 120hz, it blurs during even minimal movement. It's almost as if there's a blurry forcefield around anyone who's moving. Hook up a PS3, however, and this t.v. shines. The picture quality watching blu-rays and playing PS3 games is just shy of perfect. Yeah, there's still a little blurring present, but it's pretty awe-inspiring. There's a noticeable difference in your character's movement as well. I had to turn the sensitivity up on the game to get it to play the same way. There's a game mode on this t.v., but it didn't seem like it did anything. Some of the options and controls on the menu should be more easily accessible, but other than that, it's pretty well laid-out. I did like how the t.v. knows what's hooked up automatically. Also, there are several picture modes which change the look of the picture to suit your mood. That can be pretty helpful during gaming and movies. Regular dvd's look pretty good on this t.v. too. Some people might even complain that movies look cheap because it looks like someone used a personal video camera instead of a movie camera. It's just about like you're sitting there too. Once again, there are different modes which can help with this. One other small grievance is the touch-sensitive buttons on the front. Don't get me wrong, the buttons themselves are very cool. You don't have a springy button, you just touch it. Unfortunately, I suppose in order to keep them from clashing with the aesthetics, they made them really dark. You can't see the buttons unless you use a flashlight or get really close. The only one you know for sure is there is the power button because a red LED is lit when the t.v. is off. All in all, an excellent t.v. There are a few things that could be better, but you will not be disappointed. It looks much better than Sonys at the same price level. Pros:Excellent picture, different picture modes, automatic functions, numerous hookups, touch sensitive controls vs. buttons, and the list goes on. Cons:Not that good, although not unbareable picture during regular broadcasts, lack of visibility on the buttons, pretty exterior catches fingerprints and dust very easily, crappy sound from speakers(always the case with LCDs and plasmas), could use some outputs. The pros far outweigh the cons, and I've been very satisfied thusfar.
