Had a 50", 6 Series with the lamp and color wheel. Was good but only lasted 5 years. Replaced with this 7 series, 61" and it is so much better. Brighter, clearer, and I don't have to worry about the lamp going out. Have seen a lot of plasma and LCD tvs, but none as good as this DLP. Plus it's cheaper. What more could anyone ask for? 5 of 5 Excellent TV Sunday, November 23, 2008 Zen from Heavenly Valley, NV
Despite high expectations for this TV, with the potential for disappointment, I am more than satisfied and not disappointed in the slightest. It is a great deal with outstanding picture and so many settings that it can be custom set for everyone. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Exceeds expectations Sunday, November 16, 2008 Bill from Clearwater, FL
I was determined to get a Sony rear projection machine after a long and exacting research process. The only problem was that Sony discontinued this product line. The 2008 Sonys were way out of my budget, so I settled for this Samsung. When I compared it at my local Best Buy, I stll thought the Sonys had a better picture (at double the cost). So I had lowered expectations when this TV arrived. The TV was much smarter than I; it set itself up and pulled in HD channels on my cable basic service. The quality of the picture is simply amazing. Just as good as the Sony I wanted and a lot greener with the LED technology. So if this HDTV meets your requirements, jump on it. You won't regret your decision. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 samsung 750A series LED - DLP are unmatched! Friday, November 07, 2008 john maino from bayside, new york
to say that the samsung dlp with the LED lighting is terrific would be a terrible understatement. this dlp 61 inch is simply outstanding in every way. if i can find one fault in it, it may be the viewing angles. ive never owened a dlp or rear projection tv before and was aware that this was an issue....but i have to admit it really doesnt matter once you watch your programs in HD or any 1080P source...the great out weighs the one slight fault.
i would recommend this tv to anyone looking for a large screen tv. viewing distances are shorter than other dlp tv's. we can watch this set comfortably at 7 feet!
u need a dlp? get this one..its awsome!
buy.com was awsome. no problem at all...it was a snap and delivered right to my room!

5 of 5 This product is awesome Tuesday, November 04, 2008 LeAnn from Council Bluffs, Iowa
For the amount of money I spent I thought I would be getting less quality. That is not the case. This TV is even better than I imagined. Quality is excellent, also very light weight for a TV so big. We have had it for about two weeks now and so far we are more than satisfied. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 One happy customer! Monday, October 13, 2008 eiter from Pittsburgh Pa
My family has waited along time to decide on a new TV. After much research we decided on the Samsung DLP with LED lighting. The unit itself looks great. Set up was a snap, and the picture quality is wounderful. I could not be any more pleased with my purchase. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great Television Wednesday, July 30, 2008 A Customer from Rockford, Il
I received the Tv two weeks ago from Buy.com. Packaging was excellent no damage. I upgraded from a three yr. old Toshiba with the Samsung HL61A750. I'm very satisfied with all aspects and features. Picture was excellent right out of the box, so I didn't attempt to make any adjustments. Dvd's are even better in 1080p. If you're looking for a reasonably priced TV with many features this is the one. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 LED Technology is Awesome! Tuesday, July 15, 2008 Lenny from Katy, TX
I've had this unit for about a month now. Previously owned a Panasonic 50in DLP. The Samsung is by far way superior. It's not just the 61in screen size, but the small bezel around the screen enhances the overall look and makes it seem even bigger. Secondly, I love the idea of LED's. My prior TV had bulbs to replace and it was $250 a pop. One thing of note. I keep hearing people talk about auto-motion, Samsung calls it DNIe technology, they see in stores. I wasn't "blown away" as most people described. It could be that I'm use to the HD picture for several years now so it wasn't much of a change for me. I do notice much deeper black and vibrant colors. If you like bang for the buck this unit is it. Was this review helpful?

We just purchased a Samsung HL61A750 - 61" WideScreen 1080p LED DLP HDTV from Buy.com. It was the smoothest transaction ever! I had no problems tracking it. Then the company that delivered it was just as nice on the phone. The tv was delivered on the date estimated. Our friends bought from amazon.com, and they got the run around on there delivery date. We got our tv in 2 weeks, our friends... 4 weeks. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great Picture, Love this TV Friday, May 09, 2008 Wade from McKinney, TX
This is my first large screen TV. I've had the TV about 2 weeks now. I've upgraded from a 36" HD-capable CRT TV.
I'd been shopping for about a year, waiting for the right combination of price and performance. When I saw the new Samsung HL61A750 on sale at Buy.com for about what I could get the HLT6187 for here locally, it seemed like a deal I couldn't pass up.
I chose this model over the HL61A650, HLT6187, and several of the comparably-priced Mitsubishi 65" models. I was able to view the HL61A650, HL61A750, HLT6187 and HLT6176 side-by-side at Fry's, and the HL61A750 really seemed to have a more accurate color representation and brighter picture than the others. The LED light engine is also a big plus - no bulb replacements!
I typically watch a 70/30 combination of standard definition (SD) and HD programming. I was a bit wary of getting such a large TV because I'd heard that SD programming was really not good to watch on the larger TV's. However, I've been very impressed with how well they've managed to process the standard definition signals to make them look good on the 61" screen. Of course, it's not as good as HD, but it's certainly much better than I expected. I've used both the SD 4:3 and zoom modes that allow the SD picture to take the full screen area (actually, in zoom mode, it's not quite full-screen, there is about a half-inch border that is not scanned in this mode). The pic looks fairly good, but again, it's not HD so don't expect it to look like it.
I've got Time Warner cable and a Motorola HD-DVR. I've used the HDMI and Component inputs to view programs from the DVR tuner, and have used the built-in tuner to watch both HD and SD cable programming. No problems to speak of, and as I mentioned, the picture looks great. I don't yet have a Blu-Ray player, but standard DVD's look very good using the S-Video input. I don't have an HD up-converting DVR, but the TV seems to do a good job of taking care of the up-converting on it's own.
I've got a ton of windows in my main watching area. I was a little worried that there might be too much ambient light or glare, but this hasn't been a problem at all.
Note: I experienced the un-commanded power-off problem that is noted on a number of web sites. I was able to upgrade the firmware by downloading it from the Samsung web site and upgrade it using a USB memory stick, and the problem was fixed. It was very easy, so don't let this scare you off.
I'd definitely recommend this TV. No complaints so far. Was this review helpful?
