5 of 5 Excellent TV! Tuesday, March 18, 2008 C.J. from Bismarck, ND
I bought this TV back in November and love it, it gets a lot of use too! You can sometimes tell when there is a cheap tv out there because it steadily drops in price, well this tv is the exact same price right now as it was almost half a year ago. I unpacked it and thought I would have to have someone help me move it around but it is light as a feather and easy to manage. Get one while they last! Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Looks Good Sunday, March 02, 2008 skaldzien from Tipton, Iowa
Plug it in hook it up and turn it on that simple.
Changes easy to make not sure about why it will suddenly go grey scale then bang bright color again. Looks good with a 1080p DVD player "King Kong" was amazing! Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Stop Looking! This is the best DLP-HD Quality for Wednesday, January 16, 2008 Johnbo from Madison, WI
If you have 14" of depth to spare in your room, and don't plan on hanging the unit from the wall, there should be no reason for a person to venture outside of DLP land. It gives a superb picture with more than adiquette sound. I have compared this model's picture with some of the best Plasma TV's on the market and have found no noticable difference in quality. I watch mostly sports and movies and love the picture this unit displays. I would echo the comments of another review on this site that also helped me make the decision to purchase this TV and of which I have had identical results. (though I had a Sony 41" rear projection TV). - I was a little concerned about DLP because I did not want the hassle and expense of a projector bulb burning out every year or two. This set has the LED light engine (no bulb) so that is not an issue. The price of DLP is much less than competing technologies (Plasma, LCD). DLP with LED light engine technology is definitely the way to go. I chose this model largely b/c Consumer Reports rated it the best 56" DLP on the market. The TV arrived when promised in excellent condition. It was easy to set up and was up and running in about 10 minutes. The picture quality is stunning in hi-def. The colors and contrast are amazing. This TV shows 2 or 3 times as many shades of blue, red, green, etc than my old set (51" Panasonic rear projection). I could not be more satisfied with my purchase. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 What a great TV Tuesday, December 11, 2007 A Customer from Boston, MA
After reading reviews that mentioned visual issues with DLP and audible noise, I got a bit nervous. Maybe I just got lucky with a good unit, but this thing is great. No noise, excellent and consistent brightness at all my living room viewing angles.
Be prepared to upgrade your cable service to HD. Regular cable broadcasts don't cut it. Regular DVD movies look great in both standard res and upscaled to 1080p. The only visual flaw I could find was with small light objects against dark backgrounds leaving a trailing silhouette (such as an airplane taking off with dark mountains in the background.) I plan to mess around with the sharpness settings to fix this. It has a sort of edge sharpness boost that by default is on. I think it might be the source of the problem.
The shipping company was great and very flexible. The box had an indicator that shows if the item was tilted or experienced shock. There was no indication of trouble on the trip from Phoenix to Boston.

5 of 5 Amazing TV Monday, October 15, 2007 A Customer from Houston, TX
This TV was an exceptional value, although dealing with the customer service representatives was cumbersome at times. Once my tv finally did arrive, I was blown away by the quality of the product. Definitely worth the investment! Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great Price for Great TV Thursday, August 23, 2007 John from Waukesha, WI
Waited for price to drop below $1900 and jumped on it. Ordered TV on a Sunday and it was delivered 9 days later. Delivery driver helped me bring it into house, helped open box, and ensured TV was damaged free. TV works great with SD and HD channels. TV powers up with full color picture within 5 seconds and no blub to replace. If you don't like the blue light under the power button you can configure it be off all of the time. I personally like the blue light. Was this review helpful?

Highly recommended! The Samsung arrived in just 3 days in perfect shape. Both the SD and HD pictures are superb. The screen remains bright when viewed off to the sides and it is non-reflective, so an open window across the room does not wash it out. It has a lot of inputs and I was pleasantly surprised that it had a USB port and displayed a slideshow of the JPEGs on my thumb drive in 1920x1080 resolution. Was this review helpful?

After a LOT of research and looking at LCD, DLP, and LCoS. I had it between the Samsung HLT5687S and the Sony KDS-55A2020. I'm really happy I went with the Samsung! Overall performance is great, picture is fantastic and the style of the TV is very nice.
Delivery was about a week and the guy helped me get it in the house. Checked over the box and noted any imperfections with the box. TV is light, but be careful when moving it. It looks like it can "twist" fairly easily.
Overal a 5 star TV for what I now do. I watch HD TV, SD TV, and DVDs. I cannot comment on playing games with the TV.

The TV was good to go right out of the box. I was a little worried about the picture brightness as I ordered, but was very suprised that we had to turn the brightness down from the median setting! The picture quality is stellar and the side view angle is very good. I especially like the USB feature which lets you view photos and play MP3 music simultaneously.
The number and type of inputs match just about any device.
Would recommend this TV to anyone, just make sure your room size matches the size of the screen. Was this review helpful?

I recently received my samsung tv and I am more than pleased. The Hd picture is better than I had hoped for and even the non HD analog channels are pretty good. Hopefully it won't be long before all is HD. Movies and sports are crisp, colorfull, bright, and big on a 56" HD screen I totally recommend this tv to anybody making the switch to the big screen. I also strongly recommend the purchase of a filter/surgeprotector, and an HDMI cable for optimum perforance. Was this review helpful?
