1 of 5 Not 1080P on ALL Inputs Wednesday, July 08, 2009
JP from Chicago, IL

Talked to Samsung and this TV is not what I thought I bought. It's only 1080P through the PC input. This is a total lie: "Full HD 1920 x 1080p digital format converter for all inputs." It only goes up to 1080i, I know this TV is not available but I wanted to let everyone know my frustration. Trying to return TV or exchange.

4 of 5 nice tv, but... Tuesday, November 27, 2007
kevin from camarillo, ca
ok, i've had my tv now for about 2 months. about 2 weeks ago, it started making a whirring sound, like a bad bearing in a fan. the noise comes out right after turning it on. very distracting. i called tech support and found out that the tv was probably manufactured in 2005 and that the fan bearing will make that noise after a while. if i do need to get support, i have to make a copy of the purchase receipt and fax it in. i was able to get the fan to stop making the noise by turning it off for a few seconds and then turning it back on. that's not cool.

5 of 5 Great, though complicated, DLP TV! Wednesday, July 11, 2007
Chris from Dallas, TX
I've had this TV since April (of '07) and it has been performing incredibly! Even the built-in speakers are great quality, and can put out very high decibels before any noticable distortion. Lots of connections in back to accomodate whatever devices you have, whether brand new or 15 years old. It does take about 5 minutes to warm up to normal picture quality/depth any time it's been off for over an hour, but this is a limitation common to all projection devices. The TV Guide future only works if you are receiving a signal via a provider (cable/satellite), so don't expect a listing guide if you only have an antennae; however, having said that, the quality of the over-air broadcasts have become on par or better then the quality of non-HD cable broadcasts. Most stations broadcast in Digital format now, some even HD format, which means this TV will receive and decipher the signal without any of the typical 'snow' interference of the old analog signals. I recomend a good, up to date antennae since it still requires you to receive the signal in good condition to aviod stutters like you would find on a scratched/dirty DVD. My only real complaint is the need to program this beast to get the best quality out of it, and to set it up for everything you want to do. I highly recomend finding a technically savvy friend to help you with this, as it can quickly become very frustrating. However, once you have it set up right and get a crash course on any minor functions you will want to manipulate during use, it is fairly simple and easy to get used to; I think it's well worth it for the quality you get for this amazing price. I never thought I would get a quality name brand 56" HD TV for under $1700! Note: Make sure you pick up the cables you want to use to connect this to your devices, since it only comes with the basics (remote, "eyeball" IR adapters for remote and power cord).

5 of 5 Great TV, Great Price Tuesday, June 05, 2007
A Customer from Virginia
The reviews of this TV on this site, Amazon, and Crutchfield are great across the board. Spend the extra money to get a name brand and wow your friends who will think you paid more. Quick shipping for free and great financing options from buy.com. I hate retail.

5 of 5 Great Deal Thursday, December 28, 2006
A Customer from Pinellas Park FL
After my wife and I did hours of research we decided on this unit. We have not been dissapointed. Color, clarity and contrast are outstanding. Worked out of the box with no setup of anykind. Just plugged it into our HD Cable box and was amazed at the great picture. All aspects of the purchase was a breeze. We saved over $700.00 buying from BUY.COM.

5 of 5 YOU CAN COUNT ON BUY.COM! Tuesday, December 26, 2006
bigjohnpestcontrol from Tomball, TX
My husband and I decided to buy the Samsung 56" HD DLP 1080 big screen tv. We shopped quite a while before making our decision. I went online looking at various websites and came across buy.com. What an exciting experience!! Buy.com came through lovely. Our big screen arrived exactly around the time they had anticipated. We were sent daily emails, updating us on the location of the item and the approximate time of arrival. The shipping company called when they were ready to deliver and my husband set up the date of delivery. Everything went as scheduled! We are so thrilled with our new tv and buy.com! We cannot wait to order more stuff from buy.com. Thank you for making it so easy!

5 of 5 A real Wow!! Friday, November 10, 2006
A Customer from Ji m Thorpe, PA
I can't say enough about the picture quality of this set. Easy to set up, almost qualifies for plug n play. The sound is more than exceptable without the surround system. After all you don't need a full system for most TV shows. But when I kick in my full system it definetly kicks some major butt. Don't put off buying this set too long since it won't be on the market much longer. It has been replaced by a newer model. The new model is identical except for price. So grab it while you can.

5 of 5 Excellent Television! Simply Beautiful Saturday, October 28, 2006
Rezident - http://www.dsl-mud.org from Pittsburgh, PA
This is one of the best purchases I've ever made... period. I saved for a few months to splurg and get myself something I really wanted and I'm happy I did. I was thinking to myself the whole time that there had to be some catch... The only catch I've found is that this Screen is HUGE. My living room is smaller than I figured when buying this TV, so the screen is a lot bigger than I first expected... If that can be called a flaw, it's my fault for not expecting it to be as big as it is. Crystal Clear picture, but I'll add ONE note... Make SURE you get an HDMI connection or some other High Def connection, cause it doesn't look that great with standard AV cables.

5 of 5 Great picture quality Tuesday, September 26, 2006
jmac from Raleigh, NC
Very happy with the Samsung DLP. Excellent picture with the 1080. Had trouble initially with a small shadow in the center of the screen. It would not go away. It wasn't very noticeable, but once I saw it I could not get my eyes off of it. Called Samsung and they had a technician out the same day. Ended up being a smudge (probably fingerprint) on the projection lens. Fixed in 5 minutes and I am very happy now. Did not like having problem right out of the box, but problem was fixed quickly. Overall the product is excellent so far and after sales service was good.

5 of 5 Great TV Monday, September 04, 2006
A Customer from Orlando FL
This TV is wonderful. After shopping for months we finally decided on this Samsung. It looks great without an HD hookup and I'm sure when the cable company hooks up HD in two days it will be even better. I've read different reviews on the sound quality of the TV, we find it has good sound. This TV is a replacement for a long used CRT big screen and we love it.
