4 of 5 Disappointed 9/7/2010
A customer from Tower Lakes, IL
With over 1700 pages, I have used this printer for well over a year. This machine is very reasonable to operate. It is fairly quiet and the cartridges last a long time. The printing quality is very good, for both black and white AND color. I've learned that Lasers can't match Inkjets as far as color printing is concerned, but this machine did a very decent job. Warm-up/Start-up time is ~20 seconds! Remember, Laser Printers operate differently than Ink Jet Printers, when printing they use heat to make the printing possible, so they use allot of electricity/power WHILE printing, and this heating creates a chemical type smell by (what I call) "melting" (fusing) the toner to the paper!
Recently it started acting up, and the well known "Dev Home Error" started to happen. I took it apart and found how cheaply made this machine is. Squeaks and grinding noises were coming from several worn plastic shafts, bearings, and cams riding on metal followers that were wearing out (plastic dust evidence). I could simply see that the machine was "wearing out" already. I guess you really do get what you pay for. I take VERY GOOD care of my computer equipment, but to see this machine wearing out so soon is very disappointing. In the long run, I would recommend purchasing a different Color Laser Printer.

5 of 5 Very enjoyed Christmas Present 2/10/2010
Charles from Underhill VT
Received this printer as a Christmas gift and have been extremely happy with it. Setup wasn't hard with the included software. I don't have a fantastic wireless signal where the printer is placed but it still prints like a champ. Quick to warm up, quick to print, print quality is very good. Would highly recommend this printer to anyone thinking of getting it.

4.7 of 5 Great Printer - However 2/8/2010
Sam Sung from White Plains NY
This was purchased a little over a 9 months ago and have printed over 3 reams of paper (Mostly b+w) Recently replaced the color cartridges by buying a multipack and was expecting no issues then 'Houston we have a problem', the pages would not go thru lots of paper jams the toner would not fuse to the paper. Then the printer would not go through the warm up cycle when switched on.... To cut a long story short the folks at Samsung are covering its repair (probable replacement) as it is under warrranty. An unexpected issue hopefully an isolated one as it is a good all purpose office printer. Only real issue is the ozone when printing the first 100 - 200 pages.
I was just lucky after dropping the money on the color toner that my issue occured in warranty otherwise I would be one unhappy punter.

4.7 of 5 Great Printer 12/29/2009
Lee from Antioch, CA
I've have had the printer for a few months. The small size and good quality is a great fit for a home network. Have not used it for photos. Was relatively easy to setup for a wireless network. It is a good document printer with reasonable to good print speed.

4.7 of 5 Good home network printer 4/22/2009
Dan from Maryland
I have had the printer for a few weeks. The small size and good quality is a great fit for a home network. Much better than sharing a printer off of a networked computer. It is a good document printer with reasonable to good print speed, but I would not suggest it for photos. Was relatively easy to setup for a wireless network. The only issue I had was it I could not get it to work with a hidden SSID. As soon as I let the SSID be broadcast, it worked immediately. It did work with WPA2 using a preshared key.

5 of 5 Great Printer!!! 3/24/2009
from Annapolis, MD
It prints beautiful graphics and very fast considering it's price. It is small, only about the size of a typical inkjet printer. I have so far printed over 500 pages and have not run out of toner at all (although my cyan is just now starting to get low).
To answer another users question, it takes four cartridges, one for each color.
The wireless was easy to setup, and again to answer another user I use WPA and it worked great!

4.7 of 5 2nd Samsung Laser Printer 10/1/2008
from Dallas, Texas
I updraded to color from b/w laser printer. Can't get the wireless portion to work but believe it is owner error (the router WEP Security key has more letters/numbers than the Samsung encryption code allows.) Besides that ir truely is just unbox, plug in, and print!

4.7 of 5 Excellent buy 9/18/2008
from Springfield, MA
I've owned my Samsung for a little over a month now and it's been great. Simple plug and play - took less than 10 minutes to unbox and was already printing. I have not tried to setup the wireless print yet, but will soon. Once you get over the warmup smell (which exists for almost all laser printers) you get to see it's true potential. I have printed pictures, business cards, posters, documents, etc and they look great. The picture quality could be better though. Outside of that,I have not been able to find anything to really complain about. It's a great printer overall!

4.7 of 5 Works as advertised 9/12/2008
from Chevy Chase, MD
Very easy setup in a wireless WPA environment. Driver is fairly simple install and software is much less intrusive than HP printer software. Color quality and speed are as expected for a low end color laser printer.

5 of 5 Great machine, great buy! 8/25/2008
from Detroit, MI
My first review: I upgraded from the Samsung 2010 b/w laser. I was very satisfied with that printer because I didn't get nearly the number of b/w pgs from inkjets. Was still forced to use my inkjet for color till THIS unit came out. I was surprised how easy the wireless setup was for my home network of 2 laptops and 2 PCs, a priceless convenience. Worked the first time (this almost never happens)! I've had it only 2 weeks but the quality and time to print is a big improvement. I think/hope it will pay dividends over buying ink cartridges (which dry out if not used regularly). There's still no option to refill the toner (like on my 2010), but I assume that will come soon. I was able to save a bundle refilling my own Samsung 2010 mono laser toner.

5 of 5 CLP-315W - Reviewed 8-11-2008 8/11/2008
from NJ
Bought this printer for my daughter's college dorm room. Basically, all I had to do was plug it in; toner was already installed. The size is perfect...very reasonable foot print (small); Very quiet, light weight; and fast warm-ups. Color printing is excellent.
Very easy to connect to a wireless router, and yes, the printer is absolutly wireless...no ethernet or usb cables required, once it is connected to the router network.
Highly recommend this printer!
