4.7 of 5 Great Printer--Great Price 5/26/2009
Larry Garner from Hope Arkansas
This is a great printer for the price. I needed a printer to replace my HP4 that had given up the ghost. It does laser printing almost as great as the old HP. I have not had the printer very long and have not fully tested the color printing. One thing you need to know is--do not use the heavy color printing paper that you may have lying around. You will need to use a lighter weight paper--HP-Q6611A for brochure printing is recommended. I started using the heavier paper and it jammed the printer twice--then I called tech support. I am happy with the printer overall and expect to use it for years.

4.7 of 5 If you're waiting for your $70 rebate from Samsung 3/5/2009
Customer from SF, CA
Overall, I'm happy with the printer, though I'm not much of a power user.
I'm posting this to help anyone in my situation.
I submitted the $70 manufacturer rebate in Oct 2008 and got an acknowledgement email shortly after. Status was "in progress". Still didn't receive my check by March 2009, so I tried calling around.
Was told by Samsung customer support that their contracted rebate operation center in Phoenix AZ went bankrupt last Oct. And all the customer's rebate submission info died with them.
The only recourse they gave me was to send an email to claims at samsung.com and give them your name, address, model# & whatever else you can remember. That was it. No promises. The service rep said they get hundreds of calls about the lost rebates.
So far I got no reply from Samsung.
better luck to you.

5 of 5 Samsung laser printer 9/27/2008
from Dallas, Texas
I never fill these out, but I felt compelled to in this case.
I was a bit dismayed when I first opened the box to discover that there was no instruction manual. (There was a CD.) However, when I connected the unit up, it became apparent that a manual was not necessary.
After simply connecting the printer to a USB port and plugging it into the wall, the computer recognized it. There was no setup nor driver installation required. (I am running Windows XP.) I opened Notepad and clicked File/Print. The printer appeared in the printer list. I clicked Print and the document printed.
I don't recall buying a peripheral that setup this easily or quickly.
I examined the result with a magnifying glass under a good light. The edges of the letters are sharp and clean, even on cheap paper. (My previous printer was an inkjet, so perhaps my expectations were low.)
I've only had this printer a few weeks, but I would not hesitate to recommend it to a friend or client.
