1 of 5 Don't Buy Samsung Monday, July 21, 2008 Disgruntled Samsung Customer from Wylie, TX
Don't buy Samsung printers. I bought a CLX-3160FN and a CLP-300N for two different customers. Both are junk and had problems since day one. Had to take them into a repair center and they still have problems. And their network software for the multi-function features is lousy for the CLX-3160FN. When I scan to Photoshop, it comes out black & white. I know it's probably a setting, but it's a hassle as it says it's scanning in color. It shouldn't be that hard, especially for a printer that I paid over $500 for! And the CLX-3160FN is SO SLOW! The CLP-300N kept having a fan problem and would just shut down until a repair man had to actually come out on-site and replace a part - two weeks later. We switched to HP network color printers. What a difference. Samsung products are inferior...period. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great Printer Saturday, March 15, 2008 garbon2535 from MI
I have used this printer for a week now. It seems very solid. I have it hooked through my router. I just plugged it in, installed the drivers, and then started printing. It was very smiple to setup and install.
Only time will tell how this printer compaires to other printers I have owned but so far I am impressed. The initial up front cost is higher than an inkjet but the performance and cost of toner is much cheaper. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Easy setup Monday, December 10, 2007 aaron from minnesota
After years of ink jet printers I was glad to finally get a color laser printer. From the time we opened the box to the time we printed the first real page, was about 30 min. As with all laser printers there is the initial warm up time but once beyond that the printer has done very well. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great Printer Tuesday, November 27, 2007 Tom from Norristown, Pa
For the money this is a great personal color laser printer.
It worked right out of the box. Set-up was a breeze. I would recomend this to anyone that has alot of computers in one house that are networked Was this review helpful?
1 of 5 Error light after 4 sheets of paper Saturday, November 24, 2007 asawyer from Arcade, NY
I purchased the unit from Buy.com just before it went on sale for Thanksgiving (paid $100 more than the sale price).
It was easy to setup, install the toner, and run the setip.
I added the printer on my XP system, and then printed 1 4 page document. Everything printed fine. Came back a day later, and now it won't print. Solid Red Error light. I have checked and there is plenty of paper, but not too much, no paper in any of the paper paths, and the discard toner cartridge is empty.
Have reset the printer numerous times.
Very unhappy as it looks like I will have to call service, and I suspect at best I'll be without a printer for a while.

4 of 5 Good value Tuesday, August 07, 2007 TS from Phila. PA
Overall I'm pleased to have this printer, but as some other reviewers have noted, the only real weak point is that the output is a little "soft" I was aware of this when I purchased it, and for my uses its ok. I print screen grabs and images from my cad and design packages. Fine lines come out a little thicker than on my BW laser printer, and small type face seems to be a half step towards looking like bold face. This is actually an advantage if you want to subsequently FAX your documents - they come through clearer as a result. Color balance is good, and the softness actually seems to help photos look nicer.
One caveat: don't print your online boarding passes with it. The gate scanners had a hard time reading the 2d bar code.

This is the same model as the Xerox 6001N that I purchased. Performance is average. Some banding on full size printing; however, good for average color printing. If you're looking to print full size photos, you're looking at the wrong printer.
It was easy to install. Plugged the network cable in, installed the software. Software found the printer and viola, it was done. One note, use the IP Configurator software to set a permanent IP address, otherwise, if you turn the printer off, you may have a different IP address then the one that you used for each of the pc/Mac on your network.
Replacement color cartridges run about par with other color lasers as far as price.
