I have returned my original to Samsung for repair and they sent me a refurb which has not worked correctly either. Quite often the paper gets jammed...and the unit gets very hot after use. This has happened on both. I will never buy another Samsung. As soon as I use the ink...I switching to HP. Was this review helpful?

Agreed with all the other reviews here--especially if you can find this on rebate, the way to go for a home color printer, unless you are focusing especially on photo prints. In addition to the other points noted here, it also is relatively small (a Samsung trait).
Also, note: despite one of the other reviews here, I had no issue whatsoever in setting this up with an Airport Express via Bonjour software--works like a charm. Was this review helpful?

I'm very satisfied with this color laser printer. It has saved me numerous hours of wasted time trying to unclog or refill inkjet cartridges, and I believe in the long run will be much less expensive to operate too.
Photograph prints are okay but not exceptional. It's great for children's school projects that use PowerPoint slides.
It would be nice if the printer were a little quieter, but otherwise, the noise is not very loud.
My only regret is that I didn't wait for the Black Friday sales. After rebates, it cost about $160 from Buy.com. It was on sale for $99 at Staples on Black Friday. Was this review helpful?

My order arrived yesterday, and I printed a few test pages last night.
The setup was quick and easy on Win XP Pro. The installation of the toner cartridges was also very easy. In all, it took at most 10 minutes to setup the printer and print the first page.
My first printouts were photos of fall colors in New Hampshire's White Mountain National Forest. After reading the reviews and knowing that this is not an ideal printer for photographs, I was pleasantly surprised that it did a decent job on regular printer paper. Only the green shades were less vibrant than the photographs. Skin tone (light brown skin) looked good.
This printer replaces an old Epson inkjet because I got fed up with clogged cartridges, ink refills, etc. They were a waste of money and more importantly my time. My children will use it mostly for their school projects, so its better than expected performance with photographs was a plus.
For day-to-day use this printer is a great value. For printing photographs, I'll still order my prints.

This printer is an excellent buy for the price. Easy to set up and operate, worked the first time directly connected to the USB port on macs and pcs. Worked fine on my airport express using bonjour from the macs. My only complaint is that it does not appear to work on the airport from pcs. Was this review helpful?

Good print quality, easy to set up, very quiet, lightweight. The only drawback has been that after an hour or two tweaking and experimenting Windows can't print to it when the printer is connected to an Airport Express using Bounjour. Was this review helpful?
