The monitor is excellent. As other reviewers have noted, the buttons are a bit difficult to see and access, but now that I've adjusted the image the way I like it, I don't find a need to change the settings for my general computer use. The price was great and the delivery was prompt.

I don't think there is a better monitor out there for the price. The 8000:1 contrast ratio is one of the best in the price range and you can't beat 2ms response times. It's also very easy on the eyes.

I've been a long time fan of Samsung monitors. I saw this one on the Buy.com Website and it seemed like a decent deal. The picture is crisp and clear, and the monitor looks a lot more expensive than it really is. The monitor is a great deal for a home PC.

The quelity of this monitor is good, and it is even butter when watching movies from 6 ft away.... I am really enjoying it.... the monitor is very elegant, easy to clean, hwat else to expect on na monitor_? So far so good... plus... i have to say I got it with a 20 USD rebate.... What a deal!...

This monitor is bright, beautiful, fast, and includes the older vga and newer dvi inputs. I bought a this 19 inch monitor to match my 19 inch TV/monitor of the same resolution. I now have a great extended desktop over two screens, and the second one can be used for TV or any gaming console imaginable, while the Samsung is used strictly for PC. ....................
A CD is included, with "Magic Color Pro", some other program, and a "driver". Now I am pretty sure drivers do not exist for monitors, and it didn't seem to do anything. Then I plugged in my second screen (which i had been using for my first screen before i bought the samsung) and it no longer displayed in 1440x900, the NATIVE resolution of the tv! I tried for hours to fix it and no luck.

Turns out if you do get this likely extremely rare issue: delete the driver in device manager, search for "953bw" and delete the file, and uninstall/reinstall your video card driver. However, why would you do this? Just avoid the hassle, and don't install the samsung "driver" in the first place, as it does NOTHING! Also, the "Magic Color Pro" program was 'not compatible' with my system, and i have yet to try the other program as I don't see a need, the monitor looks beautiful right out of the box.

Overall, great value. However, if you're not going for the dual screen setup, or want to buy two new screens, perhaps go for 1680x1050 (22") or 1920x1200 (24") resolutions instead (Samsung has editions of this monitor in those sizes, for significantly more money of course!)

It was a little confusing to set up. Since it's in a rectangular shape, it stretches out the images horizontally, making people in movies look fat. There is no USB cable plug.

I ordered a pair of these and am reasonably happy with them. It took a fair amount of adjustment to get the color reproduction at all reasonable, but they were at least adjustable. Viewing angle isn't as wide as the other panel I use, but it's okay for sitting at the desk and typing. Works perfectly with my Mac's (one PPC, one Intel, both Leopard).
No bad pixels, easy to assemble. The OSD menus are a bit convoluted, but workable. My only real complaint as such is that the description lists both VGA and DVI cables as included. The two I ordered can with VGA only. I had spare DVI's around, so no big deal.
Buy.com did an excellent job on the order. Ordered them Sunday night, they got here Thursday, and that was with free shipping.

I got this to replace a HANNS-G that I bought from Newegg for about the same price. Both are 19" 1440x900, both had D-Sub and DVI input (very important to me, as I use this second monitor as an extended desktop beside my 24" LCD, as well as to build PCs for clients on the other input). The Samsung has no internal speakers, but the sound quality of built-in speakers is so poor as to be virtually useless. Aside from those similarities the two units are night and day apart. I found the HANNS-G screen to be washed-out, and unimpressive (which I anticipated from a sub-$200 19") but the Samsung is crisp, vibrant, BRIGHT, and very handsomely built. (It so happens that the clear acrylic accent on the bottom bezel matches my 24" Westinghouse quite well.)
If you are undecided about a 19" LCD have no fear. There could be a bit of a "lottery" in the quality of the LCD panels themselves (I read MANY raving reports about the HANNS-G, but was supremely unimpressed with mine).
The menu buttons are a little difficult to navigate, but better than some other units.
Buy.com had it to my door three days after placing my order and shipping was free. I'll probably be ordering another one soon.

It does not come with a DVI cable as listed in the specs. I have asked Buycom to correct this but they still list it as coming with a DVI cable. Was one reason why i purchased this item. I can't give high marks without the DVI cable which is necessary.

DVI cable is not included, contrary as to what is listed as included with product. They said call Samsung. Samsung says it is an optional item and is not included. Called buycom back and asked them to correct the Specs for the monitor so others do not have same disappointment.
That was one reason I purchased the monitor- because it came with a DVI cable. Now have to order cable and wait 'til it gets here to install (plus addl cost). Grrrr...

The Samsung monitor is really great and sharp. It's easy to adjust and assemble together. The only issue I had was with Buy.com. It took them to long for the deliver, and when I got the first one which had a problem. It took Buy.com two weeks to send another one, after I had sent it out with their tracking number. That is all I have to say.

I only have ONE negative issue. Maybe I didn't install it right, even though I don't think I did, but it fades dim and then bright again. I'm not sure if this a type of energy conservation feature or not. Overall, no major problems.

This is a great monitor for my Macintosh! The color, resolution, and performance beat any other monitor I have used, including ones several times the price. Too bad it only has one DVI port as it is also a great 19" widescreen TV when hooked up to my DirecTV HD receiver. It is worth the effort to unhook the computer's DVI cable and hook up an HDMI-DVI cable when I want to work off of my older LCD monitor while watching TV. Two DVI ports would have been awesome.

Great Monitor, If using dvi cable make sure you order it, only comes with analog cable. Fast setup. Also has wide mode for older video cards. Twenty dollar rebate makes this a no brainer. Fast shipping, right price, buy it!!

If eyes could talk, mine would say thank you, Samsung. My monitor arrived in perfect condition. Hook-up was easy; although you have to really look the first time to locate the menu controls. But once thats done, there are a lot of ways to adjust the monitor to make it perform the way you want, whether your using it for text based applications, or photography, etc.
The 2ms response time is excellent. I don't think Samsung has any competition yet in this price range. DVDs look better on this monitor than they do on my television (which needs to be upgraded).
Would I buy another? Yes indeed. Would I recommend this to a friend? Again, yes indeed.

with this monitor. No dead pixels, easy to set up, wonderfully easy on the eyes. I don't have a digital output on my video card, maybe I'll get a new card now but it would be just to satisfy my curiosity. I played a DVD and it was excellent. I'm fully satisfied with this purchase.
