Samsung 2343BWX 23" Widescreen LCD Monitor - 20000:1 (DC), 5ms, 2048 x 1152, DVI

It's big and bright, and makes it very easy on my eyes, back and neck to surf the web and do other things with my laptop. The only performance problem I noticed is, when viewing a photo or a website that has a large area with subtle color transition,the color level is visibly digitized (I don't know the proper term to describe this.) This usually doesn't bother me, but when I have a nice picture and want to enjoy it on the big screen, it becomes extremely disappointing. The only other issue I had with it was during installation. It was very difficult to plug the base into the back of the screen. I hesitated for a long time, afraid that I may break it. I ended up banging it in and it worked fine. For about $200, I still think it's a good deal.

Setup was easy, but the resolution excluded my DVI connection (my video card with 256 mb support DVI only to about 1680x1050, so had to use the analog, which fortunately works. It doesn't come with HDMI, and no speaker. But these are relatively minor. The screen is very sharp. The touch pad control is not easy to locate in middle of night without a lot of lighting in the room. Overall, I think it is a fine monitor to display multiple documents without bells and whistles.

I had a Samsung 2232GW SyncMaster 22" widescreen and needed a second monitor to increase desktop real estate. The Samsung 2343BWX 23" SyncMaster was a great find. The old 2232 has a high gloss finish where this new 2343 screen has an improved matte finish, preventing glare and reflections from background room lighting. The proximity surface controls are a nice feature (no micro-switches to fumble for controlling power, brightness, etc) and as always, the monitor is feather-weight and has a small base footprint. At 2048 x 1152 pixel screen resolution, the 2343BWX can easily accommodate 4-5 web pages, streaming news, and a spreadsheet in the background. It's also nice for playing high-def wide-screen movies at the end of the day.

Overall, I have been very pleased with this monitor. Very reasonably priced and an excellent picture. It is an economical way to upgrade from a 4:3 aspect ratio. While I have only had it a couple of weeks, I expect high reliability from the Samsung brand. If not, you'll hear from me again!

I had bought a 46" Samsung TV last Summer, and have really enjoyed watching it. So when I saw this deal, I grabbed one for my home PC. The resolution is everything you'd expect from a Samsung product.

I use it for a regular computer work and also watch movies. The visual quality is excellent. Very good price. The only thing I wish it had was an adjustable stand. It has a beautiful glossy frame but I needed to add a small box underneath to raise the monitor by 3 inches. Also, buy.com shipped it in the original monitor box just attaching the shipping document on it. I didn't think it was well protected but it worked fine.

I love this monitor. Crisp, high contrast ratio, large viewable area allows two (resized) windows open side by side at the same time. And Buy.com delivered it to my front door in 3 or 4 days! (for free) The only negative is that you would want the 2ms version of the same monitor for gaming.

Setup was 5 minutes Loaded the Driver. Graphics are outstanding. Wide view really helps. I can now view my E Mail, Text of E Mail, Calendar and tasks Great Price Great Quality. Highly recommend

That sums it up. When you get a monitor, they all do the same thing, this one just does it really brightly and cleanly. I love Samsung products, I have always gotten quality when I've gone with them, this product is no exception.

Samsung continues to build excellent video monitors. This model has exceptional detail and pin point acuracy. Text is clear and finely detailed. On occasion, I watch TV on this monitor and the motion is free from clipping or blurring. The set up is as easy as it gets and Samsung has several preset video settings to match the monitor to the input. The 'auto' setting adjusts the contrast to the input with great acuracy. The only improvement I'd suggest is a pivoting hinge on the stand so that you could adjust the angle of the monitor when needed. Considering the price this monitor it's one of the finest available!

This is a beautiful, high resolution 23" monitor that does not rotate, only swivels and tilts. If this is what you are looking for, then this is the monitor for you. Comparing it to my old Sceptre 24" that had only 1920x1200 resolution, this monitor is noticeably smaller and cleaner, and gives a little bit more viewing space (2.4%). The buttons on the front are underneath the bezel and do not protrude at all. This took some getting used to, but I really like it. It would be very hard to adjust if fumbling around in the dark, but finding the power button is simple (it's in the lower right corner). Overall, I can't say enough about the excellent price and delivery time that Buy.com offers. I've made many purchases through them, and they seem to just keep getting better over time. I've worked with a lot of companies, but Buy.com is one that I keep coming back to, and the one I choose when prices are close, or even if Buy.com is a little higher, because I know that if I have a problem with Buy.com, they are going to take care of me.

Beautiful colors, great contrast, very crisp images, 2048 x 1152 pixels (16 x 9 ratio). No bad pixels. Buy.com did a great job on the order. I selected standard (ground) shipping, but mine arrived in 2 days. I had no trouble with the assembly of the base or hooking up to my PC's analog video output. I'm now thinking about upgrading the PC's video to add a DVI output. I can definitely recommend this monitor.

The color, resolution, and brightness of this monitor are superlative. The widescreen configuration is especially good for writers who benefit from seeing two full pages at once. Shipping was fast. The stand is short and when combined with the low and wide dimensions of the screen, makes the monitor sit pretty low, so that getting it to the right height on my desk required putting it on top of a thick, seldom-used textbook. I couldn't figure out how to get it to tilt or rotate, as another reviewer could. Still, can't complain.

Satisfied with the performance, however the stand is flimsy and when you assemble the middle piece into the monitor it dosen't make a firm conection. This part of the monitor needs to be re-engineered.

Love the monitor, nice color, fast while watching movies. Only issue I had was with Opensuse 11.1. Since the monitor is a non standard size I had to create a custom frame rate to utilize 2048x1152 screen size. I posted the relevant pieces of xorg.conf to the opensuse forum if any one else needs it.

I run a lot of PCs. I've been a Samsung fan for a number of years and I was not disappointed with this one. It's not only a beautiful monitor but it continues to live up to all my expectations. This is the first monitor I've come upon with touch sensitive controls which took me a little getting used to but once mastered is a nice addition. I have nothing negative to say about this monitor nor the service I received from buy.com . This is definitely a 5 on my list.

I bought this monitor to replace a small 17 inch that my wife was using at work. It's great for business and watching movies...I know it doesn't have the refresh rate that my more expensive monitor has...but for the price, this thing kills her old monitor and everything else in the office. I am thinking of buying a second one to do dual side by side monitors. The clarity is great and it has rich colors.

We bought two of these monitors - one for work and one for home - and love it. The text/images are very sharp and have good contrast. The resolution 2048 x 1152 is like having two monitors and makes working a lot more productive and reading online newspapers very enjoyable.

Bought the monitor last week. A lot of resolution for little money. And it's a great looking monitor that can be mounted on the wall easily. I have had dozens of Samsung computer monitors, CRTs and LCDs, plus 2 46" HDTVs. They have all been excellent products. Would not hesitate to recommend this monitor. Will be getting more of these monitors soon.

Opted for free shipping "5-7 business days" I believe it said...the monitor arrived in 3 days. I Paid $209 after a $10 off promo for being a new customer. I was looking for the cheapest 23" monitor I could find that had 1920x1200 resolution or better...but this monitor by far exceeds my expectations. This monitor is perfect for RDP (Remote Desktop) sessions...no need to worry about the target system resolution-- I can fit two 1280x1024 RDP windows on this monitor with only about 33% overlap. I arrived in perfect shape- NO dead/stuck pixels either. Stand does not adjust vertically (up/down), but does tilt (contrary to one users review) and rotate. What a DEAL!!!

I have this hooked up to a Mac Mini and it looks incredible. Very bright and clear. It's hard to look at the monitors on my other computers after working on this one. They all seem so inferior.

First of all Buy.com delivery is exceptional. Received it in less than 48 hours of ordering with free shipping. Although the monitor itself is excellent the stand is pathetic. Can't tilt or raise vertically. Will need to buy a 100x100 VESA stand for my purpose. Color and detail are exceptional. Would highly recommend this product especially if you intend to use it with a VESA stand/arm. I would've given overall satisfaction score of 5 if the stand was better.

I have not purchased yet but just wanted to mention that yes, this monitor is 16:9 (true HD resolution), not 16:10 like most widescreen computer monitors. I calculated it out. Most monitors are 16:10 because manufacturers realize users will use the PC mostly for regular computing tasks where a taller monitor is beneficial. When it comes to watching true 1.78:1 (16:9) widescreen movies however there are small black bars across the top and bottom of 16:10 monitors. This Samsung 23" model for sale at 16:9 would not have the black bars. P.S. I have three 22" Samsung monitors and they are great. Good quality and color.

If you don't live in California, consider yourself lucky when it comes to taxes, fees, etc. I paid an extra $37 to CA government, so they can fund all their giveaway programs. But the deal on the monitor sort of makes up for the California junk fees and taxes. Suggestion: Buy.com could move to a lower tax state, and have no outfits in California so we can avoid these extra costs. It would make them more competitive with non-California firms.

This monitor has been awesome. The color can be changed to suit your needs. When people see this monitor all they can say is WOW. You cam have your favorites up and see the full width of any web page. Get it at this price. I paid full price a while ago but have no regrets
