I am very pleased with this monitor. The finish and fit is solid and attractive. The display is clear bright and very easy to read. I have a HIS Hightech H487F512P Radeon HD 4870 512MB 256-bit GDDR5 driving it and could not be happier. I am running dual monitors and have my older monitor (a Dell 19") as my #2 and ... wow what a difference! However set the resolution to 1680 x 1050 for super clarity and do not forget to download the most recent software and drivers. Only thing I do not like about this over others is the on-off button is on the side grouped together with others so it is not real conv. to turn on and off... so I just leave it on and let it go into sleep mode. Overall Highly recommended.

I bought this monitor just after xmas got a Huge deal on it.... going from a 17" viewsonic monitor to this Beast...WOW thats all i can say best Spend i have made in a while just pluging in this monitor with out changing video settign in World of Warcraft was Great i was able to up the settings :) the only thing is the stand was way hard to put on like i thoguht i was ganna break something putting it on but other then that SWEET deal!!! every 1 needs 1!!!

Haven't been using it all that long, but seems to be ok. Nothing fancy, not the greatest of colors or clarity, but for the $179 (after rebate) I paid for it, it's more than worth the price. This isn't something I would choose for graphic design (I have an iMac for that), but for general buisness work I think size is more important. (I'm also using the analog cable, so that may effect image quality a bit). The base is a pain to put in, but a little dish soap (a very little, otherwise it will keep tilting down), it popped right in. I give it a 4 mostly for the price to size ratio. If you can get it as cheap as I did, it's worth the price.

Absolutely superb monitor. Only one downside..Installation of the stand was a pain. But a little olive oil lets it slide in like butter.

I was pretty skeptical about getting these monitors (two of them) at such a discounted price. I thought maybe they would be seconds or have bad pixels or something else but both of them were perfect. No bad pixels at all. I bought the first one from Fry's at a higher price. Now we have 3 in the family and we all love them. Going from a 19 inch to a 22" doesn't sound like much but it sure does seem a lot bigger. This Samsung monitor really stands out when viewed alongside other brands at the store. The contrast and sharpness are noticably better than others of much higher price. Pros: 1. great contrast and brightness 2. large screen at low price. Cons: 1. The black case is a dust magnet 2. The Base is very hard to put on. Push the monitor onto the base, don't try to push the base onto the monitor. Once you get it on there you're good. (see all the complaints online) Follow the pictures on the box flap, not the useless paper directions that are in the packaging. You won't need oils and such like some people are saying. Just do it the way the picture shows.. slight angle, right side up monitor down onto assembled base, NOT base down onto upside down monitor. Get this monitor.. you won't be sorry.

The resolution is perfect! The stand is fine and does the job. For the price this is the best monitor you could get! BUY.Com did a great job with shipping and the packing was good - I was impressed! BUY this monitor as it is well well worth the price and you will love the resolution. Samsung did a GREAT JOB!!!

While the performance of this monitor is an excellent value at the price, the base and its attachment are a big disappointment. The stand (base) is very cheap and flimsy. The monitor wobbles and is not very stable on the stand. Attaching the base is a difficult procedure and the instructions are not any help.

I wanted a monitor large enough and with adequate image quality to do side-by-side document editing without being to big for my workspace -- and yes at a good price. The 2233 fits the bill very well. I am very happy with my purchase. The only issues I had were in set up. First the monitor would not go into the base with any pressure I felt would not potentially damage the screen. A little lubricant on the mating surfaces quickly solved this problem. Second the software that came with the 2233 was a little confusing and in the end did not seem to provide much capability over the standard XP components.

This product is amazing. I upgraded from a 19", and boy what a difference. The picture quality is brilliant, game play is fab, and surfing the web was never easier to read!! The base was a little hard to snap in, but with a little vaseline it went in okay. Buy.com is wonderful. I ordered it on Monday and got it on Wednesday. Didn't pay for express deliver either!! You must buy this product!!

The monitor works great, delivers as promised and was a breeze to set up and use. Resolution is crisp and performance is great. Only notables for improvement would be: - Stand is a bit shaky (wall-mount would solve this), but not enough to complain about - Top/bottom of screen seem to get a sunset "glow" when displaying "true black" - such as when watching a movie in letterbox format. Again, not enough to complain about, just noteworthy for visual perfectionists. Great deal, worth twice the price.

It is a great monitor, It looks bigger than 22". Assembly was a a bit hard and I had to connect first to analog before changing to digital. Just be very careful when putting it together so you won't damage the screen. I would recommend this item.

Got this during Xmas for $179 after rebate. Stylish monitor with very vibrate colors. The stand was a bit tough to fit in, but once you put some lotion at the base it'll go in fine. DO NOT connect the two base units first. Fit the round egg connector into the monitor first then screw in the base. I do find the colors a bit too vibrate, and had to tone it down a bit. Not using the supplied calibration software MagicTune and Natural Color Pro, as they are somewhat unstable under Vista. I'm fine with manually adjusting the OSD buttons. Overall good buy!

I got this monitor for $200 with a $30 rebate, for that price this in an amazing monitor. I like the fact that is has a matte panel surface, prevents glare from the window behind me. The only thing I would add is some USB connectors. I read a lot of complaints about how difficult it is to assemble the stand - just read the directions and it's a snap (literally).

I bought this monitor for my husband for Christmas. I had read the reviews that said it was difficult to snap into the base, and it was, a little. Until my college-age daughter turned the base around for her dad. Then it just snapped right in! LOL I guess we were anticipating problems... It works great and looks wonderful. We are very satisfied with this product.

I have had other HP and Samsung monitors that had better graphics... but not for this price. I did not have any issues with the stand as I was able to screw on my old HP 19" stand that swivels & raises/lowers. The "bolt pattern" for the stands must be an ANSI standard. A great deal with the free shipping that was remarkably fast!

I agree with most of the feedback on here that this is a great value for a 22inch LCD monitor. I bought this for my parents so they don't need to wear reading glasses while reading news online. The images are great and the LCD is very bright. I love the piano black frame around it, makes it look very classy!! My only complaint is that you really have to use "brute" force when getting the monitor into the base stand. I didn't think that "brute" force was required for such a delicate item.

I bought 2 of these to supplement 2 19" LCDs, so I am running 4 across now via 2 ATI video cards. These monitors are great and the best price you can find monitors like these right now. Most people complain about the mount and how hard it is to put in, but just make sure you LOOK AT THE BOX, there are better instructions on the box flap than there are in the manual... Yes it is not the greatest design for a stand, but its not as hard as most people are making it out to be...

Ordered this at 3:00 pm on 12/22 and received it the next morning at 10am. Talk about fast! I was pleasantly surprised! It helps the warehouse was in my home state. Monitor is very nice,but as others have said, mounting it to the base was perplexing. Follow the diagram on the box, not the booklet, and you'll have it mounted in seconds. Mine didn't click in, so I hope I did it right. Great value at $179 after rebates.

The Samsung LCD monitor is very good, the only thing that I could say negative which is not bad, but the stand is very difficult to snap in, but we finally did get it snapped in with alot of pressure almost to the point you thought you might break it and the directions were bad too, but that is through Samsung they need to say on the directions to put alot and I mean alot of pressure to get it snapped in. It is still worth purchasing even though we had this problem. The LCD Monitor has a wonderful picture and our son loves it. I didn't know if it would be wide enough for him but our son says it is great for gaming. The monitor has great images. The price was great.....The shipping was fast I received this product right away. I personally think Samsung makes a wonderful LCD monitor.

this monitor is pretty great. i have a mac laptop and wanted a second screen so that i had more work space to spread windows out without overlapping so many of them so that it was easier to go from window to window. Also, one can see more of the applications that are opened up. this monitor works great for that. i was skeptical about attaching it to a mac because the reviews i had read didn't say anything about attaching it to a mac but it works great. you just have to buy an adapter sold separately from apple but when you get it it works great. the pictures great and its all easy to set up. i'd recommend it!

Once you are done with its annoying setup this monitor certainly delivers mesmerizing picture. Its stand is not very useful, however I can lie down on my bed and watch movies at perfect angle, so not a big deal.

I decided to go for this unit instead of the 2255BW the specifications are a little lower but I thought that between 5ms and 2ms there is not much difference that the human eye can catch. but the difference was in the price, because this model cost me about $60 less than the counterpart for about the same features. over all I love it, the images are clear, the auto adjust feature makes it easy to use and the quality you can expect form Samsung is the the best. I would definitely recommend.

I can't believe I got a 22" brand name monitor for under $190. I love it!!! Was hard to attach the base, but after little struggle & some lotion it all worked out fine. Controls are little bit weird, but at this price it is a great monitor. BUY BUY BUY!

The monitor is great, no problem with pixel blur or smearing. No backlight issue, .5nS monitor is fast enough for gaming, very bright colors and sharp picture. Very good user controls. Unbelievable Nasty stand to monitor connection. What were they thinking???? The 2253 is SOOOO much better stand wise. Is it worth the extra $30? Yes, I have both monitors and the picture is very comperable if not identical. I should have sent it back just because the connection device is so bad. I got it to work because I'm stubborn....It's not a case of strength, I'm fit and 215 lbs. Great monitor but the stand would keep me from re-buying it... Look at the 2253BW.

This is the second one I have bought. Very clear and fast. Yes a small amount of bleed at top, but less than I have seen with other brands. Once the unit is running, you do not notice this. I think it is as clear as their TV's are.

I use a ten year old PowerMac G4 that over the years has been outfitted with a NewerTech 1.6ghz processor upgrade, 1gb of RAM, two IDE drives, and a ATI Radeon 8500 Mac edition video card. I've been looking for something to replace my clunky old CRT and came across this product. It works perfectly with my setup and is operating at 1680x1050 resolution using DVI. The picture is superb. Like the other reviewers I struggled mightily to install the base but have no other complaints. I highly recommend this monitor for Mac users with the right hardware.

Good monitor for the price. Sleek design. Would have liked more input options (to hook up my xbox) as well as USB at the monitor. People aren't joking about installing the base. You definitely wonder if you are going to break something. What isn't mentioned a lot is the monitor is a little wobbly if shaken. If you are an aggressive person on your keyboard you might find you monitor shaking a little bit. I stuck a Rubik's cube under one side to fix mine. Buy.com made it very easy and quick.

I have purchased this Product for this price $180 (after rebate) and I liked this Instantly. This is really awesome and works great. The ONLY disadvantage of this Product is, We can't change and alter the position for the Monitor.You can't make up the Height n Change the Angles for you view. Anyhow, as most of them are using it for Desktop purpose, thats not a big issue. Really wonderful product as just looks like SamSung LCD TV model.

The stand assembly is the worst hardware product design I have encountered in years. Put the display on the floor between your knees with the bottom facing up. Insert the base into the appropriate spot and exert tremendous pressure until it goes into place. You may not hear a click. A total waste of time and energy to put a simple monitor together. None of the women I work with could perform this assembly, since the force required is too great for them.

Waiting for my $50 rebate from Samsung but the monitor is great. crisp clear picture and no problems connecting. The assembly of the base to screen is tricky and the diagrams on the box helped me out. I was about ready to call their support number. It seemed like it just would not fit together at first but you have to work with it and closely follow the diagrams. All in all, a good purchase.

This is my second Samsung monitor, bought a month back; brightness & contrast are excellent in Samsung LCD monitors & tv. Previous one I bought about 5 years back and it works still very well with no issues; so, reliability is also very good. In this monitor while installing I had a bit tough time fixing the stand to the display; other than that everything is cool. Thanks to buy.com for very quick order processing and shipment which surprisingly reached my home within 24 hrs of placing order!

This monitor performs well, once you've taken the painful steps to set it up. The menu buttons on the side are not intuitive, but if you stick with it, you will get there in the end. Attaching the base is probably the biggest negative - Samsung really needs to rethink the way that works. I almost gave up, and I've worked with a lot of different monitor attachments. Good value for money, and crisp display.

This monitor is great! It needs some color adjustment when it comes out of the box, but once it's hooked up the display is bright and crisp. I use it as an external monitor for my laptop at home. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a great monitor at a fair price.

This one is a beautiful looking monitor. Display is brilliant and cannot ask for more for the price. Control panel is nice and the on screen display makes it easy to select choice. Wide screen helps me look at 2 applications one time by sizing. Had difficulty in fixing the monitor to stand. Had to apply force with a fear in mind that monitor would break. Had to call Samsung customercare who then guided to apply force to push the monitor to stand.

The Samsung 2233BW has exceeded my expectations. Great 22" monitor for the price. I took another reviewers advice about the base attachment (using vasoline) and the base popped in with little force. Though I do have to say that I am dissapointed in buy.com's policies less than 48 hours from purchasing the price dropped $25.00 and they denied a refund for the price difference. Other than that I am pleased with the monitor.

This samsung monitor with 20K dynamic contrast ratio is good choice to use as desktop monitor for entertainment...movies and pics color and brightness are great. Initially for 2-3 hrs I didn't like the coloring setting, then I started tuning using the software provided and started feeling comfortable. I had tough time setting up the stand..after reading thru reviews I tried it hard by keeping the monitor in my lap and pushed the jack in. The price of this monitor dropped by 10% (from 210 to 180)the next day I bought it. (Thanksgiving day). So don't hurry up if you see any offers...u'll get better one.
