 Editor's Note
Billy Wilder's adaptation of Samuel Taylor's romantic comedy stars Audrey Hepburn in the title role. The daughter of the chauffeur (John Willliams) of the wealthy Larabee family, she becomes infatuated with the rakish, younger brother David (William Holden), while spying on their lavish parties as a teenager. Her father sends her to school in Paris to forget her romantic angst, but upon her return, the now fashionable young woman has suddenly become irresistible to David. Since his father and older brother Linus (Humphrey Bogart), who runs the family business, have engineered his forthcoming marriage to a wealthy heiress (Martha Hyer), they attempt to derail Sabrina's romance with David. To cool his brother's ardor, Linus temporarily puts David out of commission and begins dating Sabrina simply to distract her, but of course it's he who becomes distracted. When David recovers from his injury and learns that Sabrina is now interested in her brother, the festivities begin. Hepburn, the ultimate ingenue, defines charm in this pleasant comic diversion.

| | Professional Reviews | James Berardinelli's ReelViews 8 of 10 ...Sabrina is a perfect example of the kind of film where the actors have greater importance than any other aspect of the production... Audrey Hepburn is radiant in the title role. Bogart, best known for his tough guy image, plays effectively against type as a romantic lead. And Wiliam Holden...is the perfect playboy... Sabrina is playfully seductive, and will leave almost all viewers...with a smile on their lips and a warm glow in their hearts.

5 of 5 I never miss it... Friday, March 18, 2005 Joe Maamah from Detroit MI
I wasn't even born when this movie came out, but since the first time I saw it as a kid on TV late at night I've been hooked. And 30 years later it still never fails to give me that "warm and fuzzy" feeling in the end. OK, it's not heavy-weight stuff, but Hepburn was never so charming, the Edith Head fashions are still copied today. I think this is one of Bogart's best roles, it's so different than everything else he did. I think his relationship with Lauren Bacall is somewhat played out in this flick, which helps make the Linus Larrabee character so much more believable. And his understated style helps to keep what could have been way too syrupy scenes much more palatable. William Holden is funny and exuberant as the wolf of a younger brother, who turns out to have a heart and sense of responsiblity in the end. And the actor who plays the Larrabee Dad (forgive me, I forget his name) is great, and probably gives the best comedic performance of a pretty good bunch. So if you have an afternoon to cuddle up in front of the TV with your sweetie for some great light romantic comedy, you just can't go wrong with Sabrina. Was this review helpful?
