| | Professional Reviews | Reel.com 8 of 10 A lively blend of stop-motion animation and songs, with narration and much of the singing provided by actor-folksinger Burl Ives, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer celebrates the misfit in all of us. A reindeer with a halogen honker, an elf who would rather be a dentist than make toys, even an island of misfit toys rejected -- because "No one wants a Charlie-in-the-Box," and similar reasons -- are disdained by the denizens of the North Pole, even Santa. That is, until "one foggy Christmas Eve" when they all discover the value of differences. Rudolph preaches a message of tolerance and acceptance that never goes out of style, and sugarcoats it with colorful art and a catchy soundtrack. - Pam Grady
