5 of 5 Wolf in sheeps clothing! Thursday, November 20, 2008 RJ from Las Vegas, NV
I had an earlier version of this and WOW it worked great! So then I "upgraded" to an over $100 Cobra. Now that one LOOKED liked it worked but didn't. So I ordered this one, works great! I live in Vegas, I drive 80 miles through the desert every day, if a radar detector can't see a cop out here then why have one. This thing picks up cops at up to 8 miles... The Cobra picked em up at a whopping half mile.
Don't be fooled by the appearance or price, it works. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Pretty Good Tuesday, September 09, 2008 A Customer from Brooking SD
For fourty bucks, this thing has saved my ass from multiple tickets... driving South Dakota's intestates and highways can be bad since cops like to camp right in the middle and your screwed before you know you are getting scanned. This has a range of what seems like miles because you'll pick up the cop before even seeing it. I love it Was this review helpful?
2 of 5 Piece of Junk Friday, June 27, 2008 A Customer from Dillsburg, PA
This thing is a piece of junk. It does detect radar but just barley. Usually buy.com sells better products than this. If you want a decent radar detector for 40 dollars, buy a whistler. Cobra is another option; not that good but better than this. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Works great - excellent value Monday, March 26, 2007 Dave from Greenville, SC
I business travel and spend most of the week out on the interstates. I have been using this model for a little over three years. I just bought another one for my daugther. I have never had a problem with this unit and saw no reason to spend more. Was this review helpful?

If you're in the market for a radar detector, you'd be fooling yourself to get anything short of the passport 8500 x50 or the valentine 1. These things are only good for alerting you that you're getting a ticket. The range of detection is only good for x band detection, which isn't used much anymore at all in favor of ka and laser. While this does support k, ka, and laser, the range is nothing short of ridiculous. Also, what the hell is laser scrambler. If you want to look for a laser scrambler, the units are mounted by the bumper, and nothing else is effective. Just look at the description. Laser radar? Laser and radar are totally different animals. From the description alone, you can tell this is a joke. Chances are this would just get you a ticket since you'd get a sense of fake confidence.
