Album Notes and Credits

Notes & Personnel Info
Forever Rock, Vol. 1 is a perplexing ten-track disc released by Sony that combines several hair metal bands with pop and rock genres that have no cohesive structure. The disoriented track listing not only includes Europe, Firehouse, Warrant, and Bad English, but also the Hollies and Redbone (?!?!). Yes, these are the original recordings, but can't be recommended slapped together in this grab-bag fashion. ~ Al Campbell
Rock Giants, Vol. 1 boasts on the front cover of having the original hits by the original artists. That's great! What it doesn't include is a coherent track list or enough songs that live up to the title. Songs performed by Jim Steinman ("Rock & Roll Dreams Come Through") and Philip Bailey ("Walking on the Chinese Wall") don't really qualify as either rock or giants. Tracks by the Hooters ("Satellite") and Bad English ("Price of Love") come closer but still miss the mark. The Hollies' "He Ain't Heavy He's My Brother," Europe's "Final Countdown," and Warrant's "Cherry Pie" all could be considered worthy of rock giant-hood, but it's really a case of too little, too lame. This collection is a waste of plastic. ~ Tim Sendra
