4 of 5 Finally on Widescreen DVD Wednesday, November 28, 2007 Mark Ford from Houston, Texas
The wait is over for a beautiful presentation of Robinson Crusoe on Mars. Besides its earnest and thoughtful production, this film boasts some impressive widescreen location photography and it finally can be enjoyed properly on the home screen. As usual, cudos to Criterion for taking on this project...and also as usual, the price is a little bit steep, but well worth it if you are a fan of this small gem that has been screaming for a proper release. I loved this film as a child growing up in the 60s and my son is just as impressed even with all the strides made in special effects since then (story and character does still matter). Enjoy!
