5 of 5 LET THERE BE LIGHT Thursday, October 29, 2009 Sandie H. from Kelso, WA.
After a year of the frustration of "lack of light", this keyboard
delievers in spades. It's the small things that make a difference. "If you can call LIGHT a small thing". I like the appearence. It is, simple, sleek, and classy. It does what it is meant to. "LET YOU SEE"!!!! No over the top back lighting!!!
Lycosa has done it again! Style and function all wrapped in to one. Quality at it's finest. I couldnt be more pleased. Next, maybe a matching mouse, Hmmmmmmm...... Absolutely Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great Friday, July 10, 2009 MoNK from Seatte, WA
After reading previous reviews on the brightness of the LEDs I was hesitant on buying this keyboard but glad I did. The LEDs are bright enough to see even with the lights on, the wrist support was a little annoying but you can remove it by unscrewing 4 screws. The mic/headset inputs work excellent. I have not tried the USB but I'm assuming you would want to plug your mouse in there if anything. So far every key is very responsive and comfortable. I chose the free shipping and it even came a day early than estimated. Very happy with this purchase. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Razer Lycoma Gaming Keyboard Tuesday, January 27, 2009 Daynger Payne from LaGrange, Indiana
First, about Buy.com, very fast shipping as promised. 1 day to Indiana, I used regular ground shipping. As for price+ship, they were the absolut lowest and I checked Amazon, Pricewatch, Ebay,
Google search, Dogpile search and couldn't find nuttin' ta beat 'em! Now, the keyboard, Out of the 3 best keyboards I have used so far (this here Razer, a LogitechG15 Gamer was a close second, and a Thermaltake Wireless (since 1982), this one's the best. The tactile feel is so nice and smooth, it allows you to be fast on the keys, but the covering on the keys and the pressure needed for a valid key push have to be believed by using, I can only tell you I find it's PrimoDeluxe, eh? I've only had it 2 days so far but it's been really great to use, a real treat, no foolin! Welp, go to you nearest retailer who carries 'em and give'em a whirl. You'll see I speak no BS here. 5 of 5 BALLIN STATUS Saturday, May 24, 2008 ballasu from Richmond VA
This keyboard is absolutely. The backlighting under the keys is awesome and definitely makes it easier for night gaming. The shape of the keyboard and wrist rest took about 2 days to get used to but now is amazing and I can't switch back. This is a great keyboard for gaming or typing.
Definitely a must get for razer fans! Was this review helpful?
1 of 5 ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO READ THE MARKINGS ON THE KEYS Thursday, March 13, 2008 A Customer from California
First, let me say that I believe that Razer makes good quality products overall, especially their mice. However, this keyboard was not very well thought out, and really should have a LED brightness setting when in full back lighting mode. Razer acknowledges this flaw, but there are are apparently no fixes for it on the horizon.
If you are considering this keyboard and want to be able to actually see the characters on the keys (novel concept, I know) then DO NOT buy this keyboard. Don't get me wrong, the keyboard functions ok, except for the "minor" flaw that you can't see the characters on the keys unless you are in TOTAL darkness - and even then the back lighting is very dim. The keys only have clear markings on the keys, such that without the back lighting the keys all appear to be almost completely black - giving you no idea which key is which. The only exception to this is that in game mode, with back lighting only on the WASD keys, the brightness of the LED back lighting gets much brighter such that you can see those 4 keys. But in normal mode, with the back lighting on for the entire keyboard, the LED dims back to its insanely low and unreadable level.
And, in case you were wondering, there are only 3 LED settings for this keyboard: (1) LED back lighting "on" for all of the keys (presuming that you refer to the very dim LEDs as "back lighting"), (2) the WASD game setting (which is the only time that the back lighting is bright enough to see the markings on the keys, but unfortunately only those 4 keys have back lighting in this setting), and (3) the back lighting off mode (which turns the matte black keys into a blur of solid black with no identifiable markings to see which key is which - unless you get a VERY bright light and focus it DIRECTLY on the keys).
If you do decide to buy this keyboard, keep in mind Buy.com's 14 day return policy! Was this review helpful?

I had switched from a G15 keyboard to the Lycosa, and will be switching back. I had always used the USB ports on the keyboard for my mice (currently using a Razer Deathadder).
Make sure you realize this keyboard utilizes an *unpowered USB extension* and not a true USB port. This will take an extra USB port on your system, not give you extras. Also, anything that requires any little bit of power from the USB bus will not work -- higher end mice, USB flash drives. The only USB device I had that I could get to work with the USB extension port is a USB microphone. I was also informed by Razer support that the USB extension will only run at USB 1 speeds. 5 of 5 One of the coolest gaming boards on the market Wednesday, January 09, 2008 jackflash1991 from PA
Pros: Really neat board. Back lights are really neat. The keys are a hybrid between flat laptop keys and regular keyboard keys. WASD cluster functionality is a good feature too.
Cons: Can not customize which keys you want to light up (only on, off, and WASD keys). Would be nice if you could light up the whole gaming cluster like this: http://www.razerzone.com/drivers/img/Keytop_Lycosa.jpg
Keys are harder to read if you are not a fairly experienced typer. Best for darker places because the board was designed for darker places with would have the keyboard back light on.
Overall it is a good buy. A couple of tweaks would have been nice but I am still happy. Was this review helpful?
