I have been at the high end of gaming for most of my life. I have gone through the top ranks of leagues with any products that touched my hands. I played in one of the top teams in Counter-Strike while using a ball mouse.
Recently I felt compelled to get a new mouse particularly with a light clicking resistance. I got the idea because when I used to be into paint-ball I noticed that the expensive paint guns had triggers that could be fired if blown on hard enough. This mouse brings that same advantage to computer usage.
The texture on top of the mouse is a rubber that feels great. It feels so great that I wish that the entire mouse was made with this rubber. The scroll wheel feels nice and smooth. I have heard some people complain about the side buttons being in a place that causes accidental clicks but I have never had a problem with them and I have had the mouse for about 4 months now.
The design of the mouse looks fantastic. It comes standard with an led in the scroll wheel and another one that pulses on and off slowly in the Razer logo that is in the center of the mouse. The heightened sensitivity of the higher DPI settings of the mouse took me about 4 days to get used to, but it has been smooth sailing since then.
I am normally a very picky person when it comes to electronics and can normally find very tiny problems with them, but this mouse makes me very happy every time I use it. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Amazing Saturday, November 01, 2008 A Customer from New Hampshire
If you are a competitive gamer, this mouse is as good as it gets. I had an mx518 before this and loved it, but this mouse feels a lot smoother. Make sure you use 1800dpi and 1000hz and get rid of the drivers after you set these. It's very sleek and stylish and the big clicker buttons are up over the top of the mouse rather than slightly under like the mx518. This keeps the grime out from inside the mouse if you have sweaty hands like me. After I set my in game sensitivity to match my old, my aim improved almost immediately, along with my bunnyhopping. 5 of 5 Great mouse Monday, July 28, 2008 A Customer from Washington
I love the texture and shape of this mouse. Fits my palm very well. Lights are cool. I'm glad that Razer has driver support for 64 bit windows because my last mouse did not so i got this mouse instead. Only thing i dont like is that I have to lift the mouse a little high for it to not track movement. 1000Mhz polling rate is great and makes movements so smooth. Overall a very good mouse and a great price from buy.com. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 the most comfortable Razer Thursday, November 29, 2007 A Customer from San Francisco, CA
Got this mouse on thanksgiving, great value.
The feeling is better than the skinny copperhead. Accuracy and speed are the same as other Raezrs, good to buy if you are looking for a right-handed gaming mouse. Was this review helpful?

This was a great mouse while it was working. I tried updating the drivers. For some reason, you have to uninstall the previous drivers before installing the new ones. I didn't do this, and, as a result, I bricked my mouse. I finally got the RMA back. I tried uninstalling the drivers before I even opened the new mouse I got from Razer. The drivers wouldn't uninstall! I clicked remove in Vista's Programs and Features, but nothing happens at all! I called Razer, but their tier one didn't know what to do. They escalated a ticket to tier two. Tier two e-mailed me to tell me I should uninstall the drivers. I tried to call to talk to tier two as I am not getting anywhere over e-mail, but tier one said they cannot be reached by phone. I replied to the e-mail to tell them I have tried uninstalling but it doesn't work. They e-mailed me again referring me to a knowledgebase article which says to uninstall the drivers! I e-mailed them again to tell them I am getting terrible service and explain the entire situation. That was nearly a week ago, but I have heard nothing. Absolutely terrible service! 4 of 5 Excellent Monday, July 02, 2007 Howard from Fremont, CA
This is one of the best pieces of technology I have ever used, performance-wise. The price is a bit steep, and I can't say that it's good to the point where the price no longer stings a little, but it's definitely worth buying...after some tears. It dashes around easily, and the two programmable buttons work wonders with macros or as I use them, a faster alt+tab and alt+f4. Worth it if you have gaming on the brain. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Quality Razer Product Friday, June 22, 2007 A Customer from Long Praire, MN
I have used razer mice for a while now, and I am in love with them. I have a Diamondback and now I have the DeathAdder. The DeathAdder is bigger and more curvy then the Diamondback. It is like the Microsoft Habu, but a little more curvy and not quit as big. The sensitivity is great and is able to change sensitivity on the fly. The mouse has a nice rubbery surface and fits really well in the hand. Overall this mouse is perfect for me and I will likly be using it a long time.

I'm a competitive counter-strike player that's been playing for 6+ years and no mouse has satisfied me greater than this. I've gone from ball mice, to one of the first microsoft optical mice that had skipping issues when you move to fast in games, to microsoft optical blue, to razer diamondback, and finally to this mouse. This is by far the most comfortable and accurate mouse I've ever used. The diamondback was great but after a while I'd find myself gripping it differently, thus the diamondback would be less comfortable over time. With this mouse I just received today within 30 seconds or less, I got used to it right away.

This mouse now comes with the newest firmware driver pre-installed in the mouse, which is excellent. This mouse is said to have the smallest lift off distance even though its only by a couple millimeters. I tried testing that on the desktop and didn't really notice a difference but in-game when I'm constantly moving the mouse and lifting it I could definately tell. It felt like I barely had to lift the mouse.

The side buttons are well placed and comfortable to the thumb. This thing fits my hand like a glove. If you already own a copperhead or diamondback mouse and are feeling skeptical about buying this, buy it! You won't be disappointed!

On a side note, this mouse scored highest and most accurate in esreality.com's mousescore 2007. Once you get this mouse download the newest drivers from the razerzone.com site and once the driver is installed make sure its at 1800dpi and 1000hz ultrapolling, anything thing lower than those settings you won't get this mouses full potential for accuracy.

I highly recommend this mouse! Was this review helpful?
