Plot Summary

An independent playhouse is struggling to survive in the cannibalistic heart of moviemaking, L.A. The director hopes that the warmed-over TV stars cast in his latest production will help keep his theater afloat. When the actors bail out for a movie deal, the panicked director tries to rehash an old Broadway warhorse. But the theater's fate lies in the hands of a cruel but influential critic, and the director vigorously tries to convince him to write a rave review. Unfortunately, his methods turn out to be a little too vigorous...
