the battery life is short, won't last a few hours. It is hard to use the controls, accidentaly change tracks, push buttons while in pocket. you can get a better mp3 player than this.
Although it looks cool and it is actually small in size, it is not dependable. Was this review helpful?

I purchased the SmartDisk Rover 256K MP3 player about two weeks ago. I don't find the battery life short at all. A single AAA battery lasts for about 10 to 12 hours and the sound is great. I didn't purchase it for the FM radio feature so I don't really care that it's built into the headphones. Actually, I haven't even heard the headphones that come with the Rover. I use Bose Quiet Comfort headphones and Etymotic SP4 headphones to travel with and this player sounds very good through both of them. If you're looking for a simple, low cost 256K MP3 player that easy to use, this is the one.
I also played with different bit rates for the MP3 files. You could hear that the music was a little "thin" at 128 bits doing an "A" "B" comparison but if you just listen to the 128 bit MP3s by themselves, they sound fine. Use the lower bit rate and get more music on the player. Was this review helpful?

When I saw this MP3 player on the net, I was really amazed by its price compared to its options. But When I got it I found out that the radio is not a built in radio, and it is attached to the earphones. You also can't see on which channel you're on. Moreover, the battery life isn't really long. On the other hand, it has a really good sound quality, and the voice recording is really good, and it doesn't take much space. There is an equalizer. It doesn't require installing a program to use it. You can directly plug it in and put in the songs you want to hear. It is also really small in size. I am also listening on it while riding my bike (it fits in my pocket). All in all, it is really good, but if the radio was built in it would be better. Was this review helpful?
