A wild and tangled crime adventure involving gangsters, Irish gypsies, and a dog that can't stop swallowing things, SNATCH is both hilarious and action-packed. Jewel thief Franky Four Fingers (Benicio Del Toro) is in London en route to New York, where he will deliver an 86-karat diamond to his boss, Avi (Dennis Farina). A compulsive gambler, Franky is tempted into an illegal boxing scam, becoming the unwitting suspect in a robbery committed by bumbling pawnshop owners Vinny (Robbie Gee), Sol (Lennie James), and their oaf-of-a-driver, Tyrone (Ade). Meanwhile, novice boxing promoter Turkish (Jason Statham), and his dim-witted partner, Tommy (Stephen Graham), move into the "big time" with twisted crime boss, Brick Top (Alan Ford), and Mickey, a mumbling, unhinged Irish gypsy boxer (Brad Pitt). Thrown into the proceedings are killers Bullet Tooth Tony (Vinnie Jones) and Boris the Blade (Rade Sherbedgia). If you haven't already, go see Lock Stock and two smoking barrels. This movie is less violent, although still violent and more general and appealing to a larger audience as opposed to lock stock which is mostly violence and humor.

Hilarious Black comedy, loved every minute. Have to see this film. Please please make time to watch this. The dialog is a little difficult at times lots of cockney rhyming slang to brush up on me thinks! The Irish accents are supposed to be impossible to understand so don't let that put you off, it's supposed to be funny!!! British humor is so complex - true comedy genius! This is comedy!, I can't stand David Letterman after watching this. He is no longer funnyish, I'm into Brit Humor! Was this review helpful?

I had to watch this movie 4 or 5 times before I could understand all the dialog. Densely British and exceedingly colloquial at that, the accents won't detract us Yanks from enjoying the great characters with whom Ritchie fills his movie. Brad Pitt does a turn as an Irish gypsy that's as good as anything he's ever done. Del Toro plays a small but vital plot role as Franky Four Fingers, a crook whose gambling addiction arranges the context of the plot. Farina plays an hilariously intense New York con man. Ritchie's cast of British actors is fascinating and wonderful to watch. Jason Statham and Stephen Graham play two friends who, with frenetic coolness, bumble their way through the illegal boxing underworld and end up with more than they bargained for. The plot takes violent but hilarious twists that pull the viewer along in gasps of laughter. Ritchie's plot twists and comic turns remind me of the Coen Brothers' movies. Ritchie and the Coens should collaborate on a movie. Maybe "Where the Bleedin 'ell Are Ya?" Was this review helpful?
