5 of 5 Almost The Perfect Tripod Monday, June 23, 2008

At First Glance One can easily mistake this tripod for the vaunted Slik Pro 700 DX, in fact, it could very well be one and the same design manufactured for two different companies. The looks are the same, and the quality is identical. But unlike the Slik, This one comes with a Geared Center Column, and it is only 2" shorter at its maximum height, which makes it steadier given the fact that they both have the same tube diameter. The smooth Head reminds me with a fluid head in its handling properties. the quality is unmistakably American; this is made in the USA much like the Slik. It is light because it is made of a Tri-Metal alloy; Titanium, Aluminum Magnesium, which in addition to its light weight, makes it very solid indeed. If you are used to the Italian equipment, this one will not disappoint you in terms of quality, feel of solidity and the versatility of function. I have had a very long history of using the top Italian Tripods, This American Tripod is definitely well worth your consideration and more; after all, it is made right here in the US of A.
