Great for surround sound rear speakers or even just for regular front speakers for a small room. Both highs and lows are very clear.

I purchased these with my JVC 7.1 surround sound from Buy.com. First , the size is great, you can put these just about anywhere. They are pretty heavy too. Now the description boasts that BIC wanted to design these to be small, but sound as good as any good quality larger speaker.. Well, the sound is pretty good. I dont know if they sound as good as they boast, but for what im using them for, surround (side) speakers (not rear surround), they do the job very nicely. Connection is a breeze, typical speaker wire clips. So if your looking for small inexpensie speakers with pretty decent sound, I would definitly recommend these Was this review helpful?

I bought the BIC Encompass 5.1 home theater package which includes these for mains and surrounds. I bought this set to accompany my inexpensive home theater in the den (kenwood vr309 Dolby digital receiver, Philips dvd player).
For music these are VERY dependent on the quality if the source. With a good quality source (like the Mermaid Avenue cd Billy Bragg and Wilco doing Woody Gutherie songs) the mids are surprisingly good. All voices are very natural and open. The acoustic guitar sounds like it's in the room with you. Bass is all but absent but for this size what do you expect?! They defintiely need a sub!
For movies I use them with the BIC V-8 sub and 32 center--they rock the small room they're in--they rival my main home theater set up which consists of Polk speakers almost 10x the price. For the $90/pair well worth for a second system or for use in home theater package. Was this review helpful?
