Magellan Maestro 3200 3.5" GPS w/ Preloaded Maps - Refurbished - 980-0007-R01 - Refurbished

Bought this for my wife. Her first GPS. It's very simple to use. Sure it doesn't have a lot of bells and whistles, but that is perfect for my situation. It if was too complicated, my wife would never use it. Biggest complaint is Points of Interests are old. Any new item (resturant, gas station, hotel) is not in the database.

Overall I'm happy with this unit, although at times it stalls perhaps that is normal seeing that it does have to communicate with satellite. For the price $60.00 it is worth every penny.

This is an excellent basic GPS and is my choice over the more complex models. It gets you the information and is easy to program. It lacks some of the more sophisticated features one might want, but does the job nicely.

It has a great user-friendly interface that allows anybody to feel at ease with the controls. The best feature is its ability to acquire satellite (from initial switch-on) even though the car is in motion.

This GPS unit is an excellent value for the price. While it lacks some of the bells and whistles of more expensive models, such as spoken street names or automatic routing around traffic congestion areas (it does offer manual re-routing), it gives excellent directions, is easy to set-up and use, and has a clear and uncluttered display. Be aware, however, that the maps that come with the unit are not updateable. When the maps become hopelessly out-of-date you'll need to purchase a bundle of new software+maps (or a new unit) to get updated maps.

For the price, this is an excellent unit. If you don't need the fancy features, this one is great to have. Bought this for my wife for Christmas and she loves it.

Its simple to use, you won't even have to look at the manual to figure it out. The only problem with it is the maps are old. October of 2007 is when it was last updated, or at least that is what mine says. To update the maps it costs another $80 from Magellan, so just buying a new one won't be much of a cost difference. Of course I didn't know this until I got lost a few times using it. Its still a good little gps, just watch out for new roads and intersections. It will look like you are off-roading on the LCD. Its durable too, my 12 year old already dropped it on the concrete, didn't even phase it.

Easy to install, easy to use and covers the basics of what I wanted it for. Navigates very well and voice features are clear and accurate. The only thing I've noticed thus far is that when you program to go the shortest route it will take you all over every back road there is. When you program for fastest time it sticks to the main roads and takes you directly to your destination. All together it's a sweet little unit and I'd recommend it for price, value, and good basic functions.

This GPS unit is very easy to use and quite accurate. I bought this for my wife, as I have a Nuvi, and this unit does as good a job as my unit minus the bluetooth intergration. You won't be disappointed.

I got this 3200 model as a gift for my mother. And for a person who is not technologically inclined, my mother was able to use it right out of the box. I would recommend this product to anyone; great value, good performance, and very easy to use.

I bought the Maestro for my second car as I had a Roadmate in the first. All the buttons work the same but the Maestro has one interesting advantage. If connected to power that goes off when the ignition is turned off, it comes back on when re-energized. (Roadmate does not.) Unfortunately for me, I started seeing similar units at a slightly lower price soon after I ordered.

I am satisfied with my purchase. It's a great buy for the price and perfect for a person like me who isn't great at getting around a big city. I would definitely recommend this. The only negative might be that you have to pay to get updated maps, but for this price, I expected that.

This GPS worked great. I used it on a trip to Detroit and to the northern part of Michigan and it got me to where I needed without any trouble. It also came in handy when I needed to find a restaurant or gas station in areas where I didn't know my way. I would recommend buying this one to anyone if they are looking to catch a great deal.

Pros: Price. Magelan is a good brand and actual unit is very decent quality. Screen size is not very big, so it doesn't distruct me from driving. Voice commands are clear and easy understood. You can scan the area by touching and moving screen with pan otion. Points of interest contain a lot of useful information. Cons: Doesn't have easy acces to stored adresses in main menu. You have to tap three buttons to get to it. Setting menu kinda confusing. You can't diferenciate between true and magnetic northing, and coordinates are only in degrees. (I guess that last one is not essencial for car GPS.) In cold weather refreshement of sattelite signal takes few extra seconds.

What more can you expect from a GPS that costs $79. Buy got it here super fast. The POI's included leave a little to be desired, but once again you can't beat it for the money.

I have a nextar 4.3" and a garmin ($500+) and I like this little maestro the best. I even bought a second one and parked the nextar. I LIKE that the screen is a smaller one. Doesnt block my dashboard or view and its thin, so you can mount it on a flat surface of your dash. Seems to pickup the satellite anywhere in the car, even in the back seat. Voice is smooth and calming and excellent with directions. POint of interests take you to local restaurnats and it even asks what kind of restaurant (fast food, chinese, etc) Highly recommended. Under $100 for a GPS like this? you cant go wrong.

GPS was delivered before projected date. The Maestro appears new even though this is a refurbished unit. Functions are easy to use and the map is clear and precise. If off route, it only takes seconds for the unit to recalculate. Great buy in my opinion.

For a basic gps unit, this one does all that is asked of it. It will get you where you want to go. It readjusts if you miss your turn. I also got is refurbished as this is first unit I have ever owned. I deem it well worth the money. Buy.com rocks!

At this price point you can't go wrong. It compares very favorably to the GPS my wife has in her 04 Mercedes E320. The screen is small, but adequate. If you are looking for a unit to occasionally help you find an address and keep you from getting lost, this is a great unit.

much faster almost instant in its ability to identify where it is compared to garmin road mate. Not perfect in telling you when to turn. Still great compared to reading a map. I can not believe people live without this technology. Reconditioned unit i bought at this sight is the best value a I found. fell confident and buy it.

I bought this reconditioned from buy.com and it was in perfect condition; no scratches or anything else to detract from the product. I think the user-interface is difficult, but once I got used to it, it wasn't so bad. I'm amazed I got this unit for less than $100...it's worth far more than I paid for it. I highly recommed this product!

A great unit that I would highly recommend to anyone thinking about getting a GPS. This one is fast and easy to use. You most likely will not have to look at the manual because it is self-explanatory. It calculates your route so fast that you can't get lost. The POIs are plentiful and easy to understand. This unit is well worth the money, especially a refurb, that you won't regret it. Craig

This navigation system has been great. I found it easy to use and I really like the volume control, automatic color change for night and day, several choices in what type of roads such as speed, shortest time or miles.

I could have purchased a more expensive unit, but due to limited funds, I decided on this unit. I had priced this item at other stores and Buy.Com as a third less than the lowest price I could find. The Maestro was packaged well in original packaging, had all the necessary parts, i.e. unit, auto charging cord, windshield attachment, directions, and works extremely well. It's easy to use and certainly worth the price.

I bought GPS for a realtor friend and she just sent me a text message and says it worked well. I tested it in my home and it found satellites quickly. I reboxed it and gift wrapped it and the item left me. But no complaints so I assume item is good.

OK this may not have the latest, greatest, bells and whistles (no bluetooth, headset option, audible naming of streets, selectable voices, real-time traffic updates, etc.), but it is a VERY useful, usable, and accurate (at least in Seattle area). Got it refurbished off BUY.COM at lowest price I'd ever seen for a top name brand like this. Arrived in immaculate condition. Charged up and held charge without problems (only two hours on internal battery, but no limit when plugged into car). Touchscreen looked flawless, and responded well. Saw complaints about volume level, but it's plenty loud enough for me to hear, even with radio on or people talking (not loud, but I do have 50% hearing loss in one ear). Easily better than system I used with my realtor about 4 years ago, which was far, far more expensive. Used it for several trips around town, sightseeing with visiting relatives last weekend. Found good routes I bet it wouldn't when telling it to avoid highways. GREAT at recalculating route when you miss a turn, without having to fumble with it. Good intelligence at rerouting too. Doesn't make you turn around, just finds a new way to destination. Better than expected at avoiding dumb side trips... better than some of the online mapping sites in this regard! Maps in mine were not the "2008/2009" edition, but 2007 is plenty recent enough for me (map upgrade from Magellan is more than 1/2 the price of refurb unit itself). Wasn't clear in web ad but it did come with mounting accessories, and car charger. You can also charge it via mini-USB. PC/Mac connection appears to only be for those two things, and perhaps firmware update if ever necessary (unlikely... last edition was 2007, and mine was up to date). I might be wrong, but I don't think you can just read coordinates over the USB connection, so not for geocaching. Would have preferred mount that clips to vents, instead of suction cups that never hold, or big adhesive disk to permanently scar your dash. Bottom line, a helpful/fun tool to have, GREAT at this price.

I purchased this GPS for my 79 year old mother on for her birthday. She travels alot to Pennsylvania due to she has a trailer up there in an adult community. She had to use this last week due to the road was closed due to an accident and she had to detore around it. She put the GPS on and hit HOME and it took her a different way which was shorter and now she takes that way up and back. Great present for someone who loves to travel.

Best item bought this year for use and value.I travel across country and Canada in ease and safety! the LAX freeways were a cinch...I would have never tried driving alone at night with out it...get one you will never be sorry. It is worth every penny. Hope they up date the maps. My Daughter who gets lost in a paper bag used it for a month and loved it...very easy to use a life saver!!!

I'm very happy with this unit. It has some of the features of higher priced GPS systems in a very affordable package. I live in a small to mid-sized city and I very rarely encounter missing maps/street names. I would definitely recommend this unit, especially for the price.
