Purchased this Sony DVD player to replace the piece of crap Samsung R135 we've had for three years. I had forgotten that the way a DVD player is supposed to work is that you put the DVD in and it starts. The first time. Every time.
Useless Samsung R135 required 10, 20 repeated attempts, blowing on the inside, clean the disk, buy a lens cleaner, etc. Forget it.
I thought it would be best to partner my Samsung TV (which is great) with a Samsung DVD player. My mistake. Sorry Sony! I won't do that again! Was this review helpful?

I was already aware that this model is the best there is for a person of moderate means. I give it a 4 for ease of use because I only resort to the manual when absolutely necessary because I am sort of lazy in that area. But it DOES work great. The main thing here is that Buy.com had it right on the web for a very good price and their famous no-nonsense free shipping. It came in less than a week, works fine, and looks very nice on top of my 15 year old Sony TV. Thanks mucho, Buy.com. And kudos to Sony too. Was this review helpful?

I was a bit skeptical about purchasing such a stuff online, but I made my mind and went ahead. The product arrived very soon.
The packing was perfect. The performance is also upto the mark. This product looks very attractive and compact. And moreover its insync with my new Sony Bravia 32".
The only thing I noticed was that after loading a DVD it takes couple of seconds to play but that isn't a problem actually for the price of the product.
I'm happy with this purchase and would highly recommend this product to anyone coz after weeks of online research only I finalized this product. Was this review helpful?

I don't know a lot about DVD players, but bought this one because it was a Sony and looked like it could play a lot of different formats. It was easy to set up, plays great, DVDs look good on it, and the best thing for me is its size. Our old DVD is huge compared to this slim, thin machine.--Oh yeah, and it was cheap :)! As an addition to my Sony AV amp and LCD TV this is the best
non-bluray DVD player going. Had no problems playing dual layer disks and mp3 disks as most of the other brands do. I would

I've had several DVD players over the years and Sony has been the best most reliable product so far. This plauey works great amd I hope will be free from problems. The menue features are easy to work with, remote works with the HDMI Sharp LCD TV.
I recomend Sony DVD players over other low end brands priced under $100. Was this review helpful?
