2 of 5 No online manual Saturday, January 09, 2010
A Customer from Mendrisio, Switzerland

I just connected my LX8 and can't say anything yet about its functionality. I like to have my product manuals and user guides as PDF files on my hard disk or be able to look them up on the web any time I need to and am disappointed that for this mouse there is no manual available online.

5 of 5 Great Wireless Mouse Tuesday, January 27, 2009
MCP from PA
This is a fantastic mouse. Very smooth movement and quiet. Great performance, no skipping on the screen, lightweight. Great laser mouse. Got this because the touchpad on my laptop doesn't always work the way I want it to.

5 of 5 Great Product Thursday, January 15, 2009
A Customer from PA
I got this mouse to use with my laptop computer because I don't always like to use the touchpad. Chose Logitech because my wife loves her wireless keyboard and mouse by them. It was easy to set up and works great! Looks nice too. I would recommend this product.

YSL from Hartsdale, NY
Product arrived in great time using standard shipping. I love my ne laser mouse. It eliminates pulling on wires and is flawless. We are a household of left and right handed folks so moving it from one side of the desk to the other in no onger a issue. We love it.

5 of 5 I <3 this mouse!! Friday, September 19, 2008
Rich from Nashville, TN
As a gamer I was skeptical about getting a w/l mouse, but this thing responds with the reflexes of a cat! No lag in pvp on mmo's/fps' at all. The 1k dpi is perfect for my tastes. Just have to adjust to moving the mouse shorter distances. Three foot range on the reciever is nice. I don't even use the wired usb extension. In general, the left/right shift on the wheel is handy. Assignable buttons a plus for use with other apps. I wish they had placed the side buttons further towards the front as they can easily be pressed accidentally, but I'm adjusting to that. Overall this is a great mouse. Ive been using mine with rechargable AA batteries for almost 5 weeks now and its still running strong.

5 of 5 I like Logitech Sunday, May 18, 2008
Jeff from Asheville, NC
I am becoming very fond of Logitech and this LX8 cordless laser mouse was no disappointment. I had a logitech wireless laser mouse go bad about 6 months ago. When I contacted them and detailed my problem, they sent me a new mouse without question. Quite a difference from other companies like WD where even getting a response seemed to be a matter of luck.

5 of 5 Great Buy!! Saturday, May 17, 2008
A Customer from Texas
I got this when it was on sale and with the mail in rebate it was extremely cheap, love the way it looks, functions great, also the ability to move the tilt wheel to either side adds great functionality for games. Wasnt sure if wireless would work for games, but its been for so far. This is my first wireless mouse, also love the fact that it conserves power when you'r not using it.

5 of 5 Great Mouse Friday, May 16, 2008
Mega from Richmond, VA
Positive: It comes with an extention for the USB based receiver. It moves with precision. Good grip and looks. Negative: The extra buttons on the sides which are great for browsing the web are placed too far back on the mouse so that your finger will send you forward or back on pages unless you're constantly watching out for that.

2 of 5 Get a Left or a Right handed mouse, not "Eith Friday, May 16, 2008
A Customer from WhoCaresWhere, Ya
I like Logitech mice, and this is basically a good mouse. But. The design is neutral to work with either your left or right hand and to me it doesn't work particularly well on either. There is no side slope for your natural hand tilt of course, and I didn't think that would bother me much but it does. Also, having the one button opposite of the thumb button to allow for hand-swithcing and to be used presumably by your ring finger otherwise makes that button basically unusable to me. I've read other reviews where the writer said he/she kept hitting it by accident, but I have the opposite problem - I have trouble getting to it at all. On the plus side, that does mean that the thumb button is much larger and easier to deal with than the small "split-thumb-button" design. Overall, I would say if you want a left-handed mouse get that, or a right-handed mouse get that, but don't get one for "either". On a side note, the mouse does come with a USB cord dock for the receiver, roughly 4 feet long - I was unclear about that and I wanted to put that out here. Also, the software does provide for switching the left and right button left click / right click functions for hand-switching, but not for completely re-assigning functions to those buttons (Logitech abandoned that option some years ago). Personally I see no difference in performance between "optical" and "laser", maybe someone else does. Sorry Logitech, I just can't recommend this model. My favorite no-frill workhorse mouse - Logitech Click Plus, now extinct.

4 of 5 Small Wednesday, May 14, 2008
Jake from Norwich, NY
I like the way the mouse looks, but it's way to small and my wife and kid complained of the placement of the side button(back when browsing) I took it off and went back to my cheap Optorite (laser) mouse. We are using it on the laptop. Overall it's OK. I have relatively big hands and it was not to good for me.

3 of 5 Not for Lefty's Wednesday, May 14, 2008
A Customer from Homer Glen, IL
The mouse works great and the laser is very accurate but they positioned the left and right side button's way too close to the middle of the thing. I'm right handed and my finger always accidentally hits the right side button causing web pages to advance if I've already gone back a couple. If your left handed, I'm guessing that your ring finger will be hitting the left (web page back) button and you'll constantly be clicking the forward button to get back to the page that you want to view. Your batteries will last a while.

4 of 5 Great mouse. Tuesday, May 13, 2008
johnanders2000 from San Jacinto, CA
I think the LX8 chordless is a great mouse for people who are a little younger and/or have more manual dexterity than I do. It has a lot of useful features (Scroll up/down, left/right, and forward/back). The price is really good for a chordless mouse with all these features. The forward and back buttons are licated on the sides of the mouse, just above the indents where you grip the mouse with your thumb and third finger. Unfortunately I had trouble keeping my third finger in position and from time to time it would hit the forward button. I gave it to my daughter. She can manipulate it better than I can.

5 of 5 Excellent Buy Tuesday, May 13, 2008
snarebyte from Rochester NY
I bought this mouse to use with my laptop. Simple design allows for an extremely easy setup. Just plug in the USB dongle and your ready to go. Getting the recommended Logitech software isn't necessary, but it will give you the ability to use some more features of your mouse. If you are using it for desktop purposes you don't need to use the included USB extender. The Range for the dongle is well suited for a machine that is sitting under a desk. The only Con to this product is that, unlike some other wireless mice, there is no place for the dongle to fit inside the mouse. This makes it extremely likely that you may lose it.

5 of 5 affordable laser wireless mouse Tuesday, May 13, 2008
Sebastian Z from Charlottesville, VA
So this might not be the perfect mouse because of some little shortcomings, but for the price it is perfect for me. It has good precision due to laser technology, good wireless range, excellent battery life, nice look, Logitech brand reliability. The shortcomings are: the lateral buttons that are too easy to hit by mistake (I got used to them now, and just to make sure I changed their function from back and forth navigation on the webpages to switching tabs in firefox.. a more "benign" function to activate by mistake). One important shortcoming might be the relative incompatibility I found with Vista.. and the fact that the mouse doesn't come with software nor with instructions for where to get it, but I found it easily on the Logitech webpage. In Vista however, the mouse is not properly recognized by the software, and I will not be able to change the function of lateral buttons, and I will not be able to use the lateral scrolling. In XP works perfectly (I only tested Vista for a few months, and I was going to downgrade anyway back to XP because Vista was too buggy and unstable, so I don't mind so much).

3 of 5 A wire reaches further so what's the point Tuesday, May 13, 2008
A Customer from springfield mo
A wire reaches further so what's the point of having a wireless mouse. Their solution to this is to give you a little stand for the reciver attached to a long usb wire so that you can place the reciever right next to the mouse. I just think thats kind of rediculous, but I guess at least the wire isn't actually attached to the mouse. Just be aware that it has this issue, otherwise it works oK.

5 of 5 Rather small Sunday, May 11, 2008
A Customer from Fort Collins, Colorado
It has an excellent touch and feel but a bit small for my hand. I prefer large mice and this one is somewhat small. Other than that it is near perfect.

4 of 5 Good mouse, but the extra buttons are annoying! Wednesday, May 07, 2008
Andrea from Albany, NY
I've had this mouse for a week. I can't seem to get used to the forward & back buttons on the sides where your fingers rest in the contoured part of the mouse. I use all sorts of web apps at work and often using the fwd or back buttons trashes my active window and causes all sorts of errors. I am going to have to buy an old fashioned mouse so that I don't keep accidentally clicking these sensitive buttons.

5 of 5 The mouse that almost wasn't Tuesday, May 06, 2008
A Customer from Irvine, California
I like Logitech products and had wanted to relieve the congeston of wires on my desktop. this mouse doesn't exactly do that since its connecting device is wired. I had it all set up but couldn't get it to work. I contacted on-line technical support which was difficult to do because the form that needed to be submitted required information that was not available from the packaging or the device. I managed to fake it enough to get help which only reiterated what I had already done. I was all ready to return it to Buy.com when I found my hand on the mouse and the cursor was responding. As I told tech support, I have no idea what I did or why it decided to work. But work it did and is still working.

5 of 5 Redefine Precision Monday, May 05, 2008
A Customer from Jersey City, NJ
Its fantastic - I just had to put in the batteries, switch it on and it was ready to go. Using this mouse makes you want to redefine precision. I have not used Laser till now and this really make me say 'wow' over and over again. Great buy and the price is unbelievable. I would have paid much more for this any day. Comfort is excellent. I really like the scroll zoom in buttons. In all, it is a must have piece if you are looking for precision, comfort and price.

5 of 5 Another Logitech Winner Sunday, April 27, 2008
awesome from Wolf Point, MT
Yet again, Logitech has made a superior product in this mouse. It's comfortable and feels good in your hand. It's also responsive and looks good too. Lots of buttons for extra control of whatever you are doing. I always buy Logitech because this is their speciality and they do it well. I did have one problem at first, my mouse and receiver were not on the same wavelength. But I discovered there is a Logitech Utility that reconfigures them so they work together. There are no drivers included with this mouse. You have to go to their website and download them. I highly recomend that you do download the drivers because it adds to the functionality of the mouse and Logitech software almost always works good.

2 of 5 Great product but not for me. Wednesday, April 02, 2008
A Customer from Penfield, NY
The LX8 is great, I'm on a Mac and it is just plug and play. The only reason why I don't like it is because the scroll wheel is really "clunky" and the buttons press way too easily including the two side buttons. Even if you don't want to click them if you are just resting your finger on the spot, chances are you're going to click something. First time buying something from Buy.com and WOW, was shipped out same day and it arrived in the main FedEX place next day and was in my hands 24 hours later. Amazing shipping, definitely looking forward to future purchases.
