5 of 5 It's A Keeper!! Monday, April 27, 2009 Bernice from Seattle, WA
I purchased this recorder in order to replace one that I had borrowed from my local library's AV dept. It has become an invaluable "notetaking" resource to me as a college student with plenty of storage for lectures, the ability to easily transfer recorded data to my computer for storage on CD media, and I also use it for making CDs from the song classes I take so that I can transfer the good sessions to my MP3 player to listen/practice on the go. Although I bought one as a replacement, I also bought one to keep for myself...and I won't lose it! I would HIGHLY recommend this recorder. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 its worth to invest on this gadget Wednesday, August 20, 2008 A Customer from New Brunswick, NJ
It is cool, handy, easily operatable. Only area, could be little better is noice cancellation. I don't have any comparable chart with others, but this item should have little better performance while filtering out sounds like wind etc... It has these features and working indeed. But performance could be little bit better in this area.
Anyway, overall, it is good item. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 good item Monday, June 30, 2008 Ling from Pittsburgh, PA
I just bought this voice recorder recently, it has been working so well. Its outlook is so cool especially for the USB part. It has many modes for you to choose in order to record at different situations. The sound effects are wonderful. You can even erase the background noise and just keep the certain voice u want to hear. The only problem i have got so far is that it's not that easy for you to remember such many different modes at the beginning. After all, it's a very good value, very professional and worth buying. 5 of 5 Great so far Monday, February 11, 2008 Matt from Atlanta, GA
I've been using it for a couple of weeks, replacing a recorder I had picked up at Walmart for something like $35. That one (an RCA RP5022B) used its own file format so you had to use its software to play back the files, plus something like one recording out of 10 or 15 would have some kind of file error that prevented playback, which is obviously unacceptable if you actually need your recordings. I haven't had any similar problems so far with the Olympus, and it generates plain old WMA files so you don't need special software. Having the USB integrated into the recorder itself is also cool (as long as it doesn't break) since you don't have to keep track of or lug along a cord. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 My new Toy Friday, January 25, 2008 Robert from Phoenix, Arizona
At the age of 72 I am as delighted as any young kid could be with a new toy. And this one is so functional and fits the purpose of keeping my mind and memory agile. I use it to help me with learning some new course material so that it assists my visual faculty. As a side benefit I have recorded several CDs on it to give myself a break from the more cerebral function. There are a few things I want to do with that I cannot figure out from reading the manual, and I am looking to the Olympus support staff to assist me. I was a little disappointed that it would not "dock" in a radio that is set up to play MP3, but I am still looking for another way to match up with it. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Speech, Yes. Music, no! Friday, November 30, 2007 A Customer from Westerly, RI
This is a dandy little device for recording speech. It is like your telephone answering machine in terms of quality. Forget recording live music with it. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 What you see is what you get! Wednesday, November 28, 2007 bgoldenb from Hewlett, NY
For a change what you see is what you actually get. This digital voice recorder is the best one I've seen - especially for this price. It was so easy to make the recordings and then transfer them directly to my MAC. Once there available freeware allowed me to convert the voice recordings to MP3 files which finally easily loaded onto my iPod. I could not be more pleased!! Was this review helpful?
