I have had these speakers now for about a month, and they are great. The sound quality is better than I expected, and yes you do need to adjust the treble, bass and volume for different levels of pre-recorded media, but so what. They still sound great. They are very easy to set up and adjust. The only thing that I can find that I don't like is the weigth of the desk top units. They are very lite and you have to hold the one with the controls to push the on-off switch, not really a problem, the sound quality makes up for that. If your looking for theater quality speakers, then spend your $1000.00 or more, but if you want to enjoy casual listning of music from rock to country etc. I don't think you will be dissapointed with this set, I know I'm not... 5 of 5 Well worth the money Monday, September 29, 2008 Bob from Orem, Utah
The VS4121 Speaker System is typical of Altec Lansing, clean quality sound. I have a higher end AL system on my computer and have thuroughly enjoyed them for years so decided to get similar for my wife's computer. There is a low hum but that is due to a lousy ground at the computer. Unpluged there is no hum. Other wise they have excellent sound especially for the price. Was this review helpful?

Very exceptional system for the money. System does seem to lean towards being bassy when turned down. When turned up is when this system really shines; good balance between highs & lows. The subwoofer almost sounds as good as my Yamaha surround system for the TV. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Brilliant!! Wednesday, January 23, 2008 Vivek Girisan from Raleigh NC
Just got these an hour back and they are one of the best speakers I have ever heard! The tweeters are just too good and they make u hear stuff in your music that u would've never heard before. One word of advice place the speakers a little above the ground as they are downfiring and dont sound nice if placed on a carpetted floor. Now the woofer! It has an awesome frequency response sweet Lows and a supremely brilliant Midrange! something the Logitech series lack. None of them including the Z2300 have a decent midrange.
This is not the speaker for you if your looking for loud music in a huge room. Nonetheless they are worth every penny and u cant get anything better for the price. If ur willing to spend more u can go in for the FX 4021 and if u wanna go even higher get the Klipsch Pro Media 2.1 Was this review helpful?
3 of 5 Good for this price Friday, January 11, 2008 A Customer from Ga.
Owned this set for two years, decided to upgrade to Klipsch THX. Sound is bright and clean, but the subwoofer is the weak link here, it is too hard to find that sweet-spot on the subwoofer dial, so you'll constantly be adjusting. It's servicable, however, and plenty loud enough, and at 63 bucks, is a decent bargain. Was this review helpful?
