Great camera at a great price. The software that came with it is wonderful providing video effects, face accessories, video masks, etc. Installation was easy. I have had no issues with this camera and software (using XP).

I got this in March 2008 & with the 40 mail-in rebate it was a great price. It works flawlessly w/yahoo & aim & easy to use, about average to above average compared to other cams. If you have the toolbar open for the extra cool stuff, like having your image show up as sketching, etc., it uses a bit of RAM & can slow down your computer. You can close it while running video IMs, though at the time I only had 1 gig RAM anyhow which is pushing it anyhow running Vista Home Premium.

I have bought two of these cameras. One for home, one for work. They work great and are easy to set up and use. I highly recommend this camera.

This camera was very easy to set up. Though the picture quality is low thats to be expected for the price. Video streams well especially with good internet connection and computer processor speed. Recommend this item for any usage. Once again, Logitech makes good electronic equipment!!!

Could not be more pleased. I plugged it in and it has worked everytime. The software is functional and intuitive. I have created several promotional videos with the "masks" and video captured with the software that have receieved great reviews. It would not have been as easy without the software that came with the camera.

I normally don't write reviews (I really purchased this item too) but thought this web camera deserved it. I purchased one on black friday and was surprised when I actually started using it. I am really surprised how clear it is. It has a HD capture function and allows you to pan, tilt and rotate the camera via an on screen control. First time I've personally seen that sort of feature. You can also publish directly to You Tube with it. Bottomline: It's worth the current price, although I got mine for $10.00 after a rebate.

The camera is good value for the price. Does all I expected, with very good quality images, and then some. A major problem however developed after the installation. The software, for reasons inexplicable, opens my browser (Firefox) and delivers me to the Logitech Webcam site. This happens repeatedly, at least once daily. I've contacted their tech support, which hopefully will resolve. The annoyance, and waste of time more than outweighs any price/quality value this product had.

I bought this camera because of rebate being offered with it which dramatically reduced the cost. I immediately went to work installing it on my desktop computer which met the minimum requirements for the camera. I ended up installing and uninstalling the software many times. Unfortunately, it never really worked. When it did, the video would be very erratic, updating mabybe every thirty seconds or so. Nothing smooth at all. So, I installed in on my laptop which exceeded the minimum requirements and it does work fairly well. The point is, do not try to install this on a box that just meets the minimum requirements. You'll need something much beefier to get this camera to work. Also, it should be noted that you really need fast internet for smooth flowing video. Otherwise, it will appear rather choppy and pixelated. Good luck.

I use it on a mac laptop. The included software is for windows, so I lose a lot of the extras, but it functions sufficiently for my use. I use it for video chat via iChat (in turn AIM). The people on the other end say the picture is decent and the microphone picks up the sound well. I can't give this product anything less than a 5 because it's my own fault I didn't check before hand that it's intended for windows based computers. With the $40 rebate, value is awesome!

This is what webcams should be. I've had a few webcams and this is by far the best I have ever used. Granted I've only used 3-4 other webcams but this definately met my expectations. Great value with the rebate.

QuickCam quality is good....performance would have been better..consumes lot of memory...but picture quality is acceptable...Only problem is with holding the webcam while using with laptop...after placing the cam on laptop, it falls down sometimes..Cheers

The "flexible" clip is a bit bulky for me. But, that is nothing of importance. The video at low light condition is great with their "Rightlihgt 2" technology. Just wish that the operating led would be brighter so I can use the web cam with no light at all. The built-in mic picks up the voice very clearly. This is not an auto-focus model, but for some reason I never have to adjust the focus ring within a certain range. With 3 other web cams I have owned, I would need to adjust the fucus all the time. I got it with a big rebate. Price might be an issue if you are looking for a cheap-moderate price web cam with good video/audio quality.

After the rebates, this is a great value at about $15 (I haven't gotten the rebate money back yet, but I'm confidant!). The picture quality is good -- clear with good lighting. It doesn't have auto-focus, which can be a problem. The mic seems to work well -- picks up conversation from all over the room, at standard volume.

I got a great price on this product on buy.com! I was not sure if it would work for online classes I am teaching, but the price was right, so I tried it. I made a 5 minute video clip for my class and it took up only 4 MB compared to the 47 MB that my built-in cam recorded for the same amount of video. I am not terribly adept at technology, but it was easy to install by myself, and I easily taught myself to use the product. The picture and audio were both clear though I did have to turn up the volume. I am ecstatic about this purchase!

Camera is strudy and adjustable to fit most LCD/Laptop screens. Software is easy to load and use. Only the picture quality seems a bit grainy to me. But it's a webcam and with the rebate can't ask for too much.

Not bad for the price. The software is totally fun. Face masks and all special F/X. The quality of the picture isn't bad but there are better cameras but cost more too.

The QuickCam Communicate Deluxe is a quality product. It fits nicely on any flatscreen, is sturdy and has all the features you need. It fits perfectly in the middle of the webcam options. The microphone picks up everything fine, the picture is good and allows for more than just a tiny window, and the right light feature works like a charm. Great webcam.

This webcam still suffers from the FPS which cause whooshing if there is a high degree of movement, but with the introduction of the facial recognition software I would assuming that people are starting to get it, STAY STILL! Great Cam. High enough Res and plenty of extra goodies to keep you and the kids busy.

I bought this mainly for used with MS Windows live messenger, picture is great and bright, even with low background light. The built in mic works great too. This is the 3rd webcam I own so far previous 2 are creative webcam pro and MS Livecam 3000, so far this one is the best, highly reccomended.

I got the webcam thought it would beat my old logitech webcam, but even with 1.3 mg and glass lens, the immage quality still so bad, even worse than my old webcam. I dont know if because of the wide angle view or sumthing caused my face look fatter

First, Logitech is the best for webcams and any other items that I have ever bought, as is Buy.com. With Logitech rebates you can buy these for $10-12 after rebate due to the newer 2 MB auto focus webcams coming out. I downloaded the latest Vista software which is important from Logitech.com and it installed easily ... just make sure you do not plug the unit in until the software is installed. The photo and video part worked great, however when I went to use the webcam feature, it had me run it in Windows XP compatibility mode which worked fine. It takes good photos but I can not tell much difference from the 1.3MB and 5MB photos. The videos it takes are adequate too. I bought it mainly to use as a webcam to talk with my son in another state and it does that very well. The RightLight2 technology is great but the face tracking seems to be a distraction so we do not use it. It has a focus wheel so make sure you focus it on a large piece of paper with large print at your regular viewing distance. I received my $40 rebate notice last week (took only 2 wks) but I have not received one on the QuickCam for Notebooks which was ordered before this one at the other large online computer retailer. In the past I have found Logitech very good and speedy with their rebates. Buy.com has the Logitech QuickCam Deluxe for Notebooks Webcam - Silver, Black - CMOS - USB - 960-000043 on sale for $10 after a $30 rebate and my son says the webcam results are a little better than this one. It expires 14 Sep 08 and Buy.com still has some left-- I just checked. The only problem is that you would need to figure out how to clip it to your desktop monitor since it is made for laptops and has a small clip ... I would probably use a hardware store spring clip on my thick LCD monitor and clip it to that. It is very, very small and comes with a pouch. I bought it for my wife's laptop. Take a look at it at: In Windows Live Messenger I had to tweak some of the setting to get it to send via Webcam mode but now it is working very well. I needed to load WLM and hit the Alt key to see the Tools at the top, then to Camera Settings. If this does not work, then use the QuickCam setting menu bar which is long & slender and has video recording and photos and hit the cog icon for setup. I rate it as Good to very Good depending on what you have to pay for it. But, the notebook listed above is a little better for less cost. Both are rated about the same by Buy.com reviewers as a 4.5 for this one vs almost a 4.5 for the notebook version. Good Luck! Buy.com ROCKS!

I bought this webcam for my daughter who is away at college so we can stay in touch face-to-face. Out of the box she installed it without a problem, and we were on-line without a hitch ... the video was excellent (although certainly not hi-def), and she had no trouble showing me around the inside of her new college digs. The camera adjusted adequately to changing light conditions. For the money I'd recommend this webcam. I've come to rely upon the Logitech brand, and this did nothing to change my opinion.

I bought this camera so I could use Skype with my grandkids. It took a bit of effort to get the two in sync, but it works perfectly and I'm thrilled to be able to communicate with them this way!

I got this web cam on sale but even at full price, it's worth it. The setup was easy and the hookup is easy. Just plug it into a USB port. It has features like filters, avatars, masks, etc. which are fun too. The picture quality is variable from email quality to 5 megapixels. And it has a little light for low-light conditions. I use it to talk with our kids over Skype. You can also snap pictures with it and videos (which I haven't tried yet). Can't go wrong with this one.

True plug-and-play under Ubuntu Linux 8.04. No drivers needed. Works well with Skype for Linux, just had to change the audio source for the USB microphone. Picture quality is good.

It certainly is not worth it's list price, but it does work just fine. Lots of grain in low light images, and slow to adjust to changes in lighting conditions. Frame rates are barely adequate - still hoping that a 'really good' web cam would be able to smoothly track movement. Would love to see a low light camera that could minimize grain - something approaching the viewfinder of a mid-class video camera.

I got this during the $40 rebate deal, and it is one of the best webcams I have owned; the colors are balanced and neutral, it performs extremely well in low-light conditions, and it works without drivers on Linux and Vista (UVC compatible).

i brought this product a month back and there is rebate from buy/logitech. but they said whatever you sent UPC code is invalid so we are not refund you. make sure before buying this item do expect rebate/refund....

Out of the box the quick reference card got me set up in under 5 minutes with no confusing questions or problems. The camera is easy to operate, has good picture and microphone. I connected through windows live messenger and my parents were impressed, both by the quality and by the grand kids. They are going out and buying one today.

It was easy to install and setup the Logitech QuickCam. Just follow the instruction in the booklet, you will get it up and running in a minimal of time. The video is very good and the audio is very clear. It was easy to use and you can use it to make a video clip. I would recommend this webcam.

This is the second QC Deluxe I have purchased. The first was for my daughter and her family so we can talk and have fun with the grandchildren. This one is for my work. Both work great. The voice quality is very good and so is the video. Its easy to mount on the screen and the field of vision is outstanding. We do not use the extra graphic feature much but they are fun. I am very happy with the results and I would recommend this webcam.

Camera works very well with different cam applications in both XP and Vista. Face tracking is a little unusual but any feature is only as good as the software running it. When setting focus leave face tracking off. Excellent hardware
