5 of 5 Solid Performer Sunday, October 18, 2009
Nita from Mobile AL

I liked these so much I bought 3 of them. What can you say about a power supply - it works. Mine have lasted 2 years and are still going strong. When these die, I will replace with the same thing. I had APCs before, they did not look as good or last as long.

5 of 5 Good UPS for small computer system Saturday, January 03, 2009
A Customer from McLean, VA
With two, 22" monitors, this UPS gives about 5 min of power supply - enough time to save & shut down a pc if you are using it at the time. For users who want a longer runtime, you will want to look for a much larger UPS. Operation is smooth and interface is reasonably easy to use. Price at Buy.com was 10% less than anywhere else I could find and shipping was 4-5 business days - great job Buy.com!

4 of 5 Spectacular deal, and very good UPS Tuesday, December 23, 2008
Coyote from Ravenswood, WV
This has been in use for almost a month now with 1 power outage and the battery was close to accurate (went dead with 3 minutes remaining). Software is simple but detailed enough. Silent setting isn't completely silent (still goes off at 10%/5min) tho not as loud as APC. At 35% load (1 PC, modem, router) backup will run for about 20 minutes. PS3 or 360 will add another 30% to load and reduce to 8~10 minutes. Only complaint is that the top of the battery housing inside the unit broke on shipping (looks like the battery was slammed so hard it burst through). This was most likely FedEx/cold weathers fault but it doesn't affect units operation.

5 of 5 Works fine! Monday, October 13, 2008
A Customer from Snohomish, WA
As other reviewers said, all that is needed is to plug it in. I like having the display that shows how much time is remaining given the current load. Much better than the one it replaced. Now all I need is a power outage. :-)

5 of 5 Good product @ 1/2 the price Sunday, October 05, 2008
phil from los angeles, ca
Set up was easy...it is also a lighter weight than the APC product it replaced. I like the software that comes with it that shows how it is working. I would have to rate this as an excellent buy for price, performance etc. Try it you'll like it!

5 of 5 CyberPower CP850 UPS Friday, August 29, 2008
rronay5204 from Miramar, FL
Very easy to install. Take it out of the box, plug it in, wait the 16 hours or so for a full charge and plug in the devices that need to be protected. Enough juice to keep a desktop running until you can shut it down. I like the LCD technical display on the front.

2 of 5 Handles Power Outages, not flicker or brownouts. Tuesday, August 19, 2008
Akom from Jamesburg, NJ
My setup: This thing runs 2 Athlon XP1800 based headless servers (Linux), plus a switch and a router (minimal load). Total power (displayed by the UPS) - 228 watts, or 49% of its capacity. If I unplug the UPS from the wall - everything continues as normal, which is great - except that's not the power problem I bought it for - our outages are rare, but power oscillation is frequent, lights flicker, which indicates brownouts, or occasional voltage drop. The UPS claims to be an AVR, but EVERY TIME this happens (and it happens almost every day in my house, something I should probably take up with PSE&G) - the servers reboot (sometimes one, sometimes both). Occasionally the network hardware reboots too, causing VOIP dropped calls if any are in progress. In summary - it is useless to me. Sometimes it seems that the switching time is so long that it actually helps the servers reboot, though I don't fully understand the mechanics of this. If I had read the reviews of other brands that mention Cyberpower units, I would have been aware of this - and probably spent twice the money, but only once, on a unit that actually keeps machines from losing power (a novel idea for an Uninterruptible Power Supply), eh? :)

5 of 5 Works great! Tuesday, July 22, 2008
Cheryl from Mobile, AL
I have had only 1 full power outage since installing and it worked great! Exactly like the company stated it would! Very quiet! It was real easy to set up and load the software. The power management program is nice feature! I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a battery backup. I am very satisfied!

5 of 5 Excellent deal for the money! Tuesday, July 15, 2008
A Customer from DFW, TX
I've not used CyberPower products before (I usually trust APC), so I was a bit hesitant to order these at the low price they were offered for. But I was in a bind and needed to be cost-conscious. So far I can't say I'm sorry. These units have an excellent compliment of features and seem to do a winning job of keeping power stable and clean according to my measurements. The display on the front is quite informative and seems to be reasonably accurate. This unit doesn't switch over to battery as fast as APC products, but otherwise I'm quite happy with the purchase.

5 of 5 Great Product & Value Tuesday, June 24, 2008
Mark from McAllen, TX
I was a little reluctant to purchase this UPS because I was not familiar with the CyberPower name. I have gone through several UPS systems from the "other" well known manufactures, but when I began my search for a new UPS system, none offered the same "whistles & bells" for the same "bucks". I read a lot of reviews here, and on other web sites, and it was enough to convince me this was a company committed to putting out quality products, and backing them up with a good guarantee and a helpful support team (do I need to say more??). Even though the case is plastic, it seems very durable. The LCD display is great, and informative. I run Linux, so I have not tried the PowerPanel software included. I wanted AVR, so for me that was a big plus at this price. I have had this system less than 2 months, but I have already gone through several power outages and brown outs. It performed perfectly each time!! So far, absolutely zero problems or cons. It appears to me CyberPower is trying to make a notch for themselves in this market place, and they seem to be doing all the right things. I give them 5 stars!!

5 of 5 Love the display Thursday, June 19, 2008
Jeffrey W. from North Potomac, MD
This is the first UPS I bought with a display so I don't need to guess whether it is providing enough power, how much life is left, and other parameters. I just had 2 UPS failed and there is no way to know why they fail without any display. ONE complaint: It should require the user to hold the power button for a couple or more seconds to turn it off just like other UPS. This will avoid accidentally turning off the UPS by just hitting the button for 1/10 second. If it has that, I would give it 100% satisfaction.

5 of 5 Great product Tuesday, June 10, 2008
Curt from Oregon, Wisconsin
I thought the Cyber power was a great purchase for me in my home office. I wanted a battery backup but never thought of having it regulate my power as well. For the price you cannot beat it. Very easy to use, all I did was plug it into my computer and after answering a few questions on the computer it was ready to use. I like that the power supply tells me how much of a load I am able to put on it, for example I have my computer, monitor, printer, modem, and external harddrive plugged into it and its telling me I am at minimum load. I already have had a couple of power outages and it has worked every time with no problems. I also like that it has a power saver display so the display is not on all of the time but is there when I push the button to read it. Overall I thought it to be a great product for me nine ouletes is plenty, great product to buy when you have expensive equipment.

5 of 5 Outstanding UPS & Great Customer Service! Sunday, June 01, 2008
Mike B. from Pittsburgh, PA
I'm a very tech-oriented person who works for a school district in it's IT and Network department. We always use APC UPSs for our servers, but awhile back I decided I wanted one for my home iMac. After looking at APCs offerings for the home, I ending up buying a Belkin, blindly thinking that because it was advertised that the software would work with Macs, it would. Well, it didn't at all. After months of being on and off the phone with Belkin, I decided it was time for a new UPS. I saw this model online, and I saw how good the reviews were. I bought it, and sure enough, it's great. It communicates well with Mac OS X Leopard, and the LCD screen is incredibly informative. It does go off after 1 minute of inactivity, which is nice for when it's dark in the room. The few questions I had before buying were answered very promptly by CyberPower's customer service. It's a great unit, and I highly recommend it!

5 of 5 Excellent Value Monday, April 14, 2008
Jason from Minneapolis, MN
I purchased this to replace an APC Pro 650 that needed to have the batteries replaced. The single replacement batter was going to cost $69.99. I did some research between APC, Tripplite, and Cyberpower. I chose this unit after speaking to the tech support guys at Cyberpower. Their philosophy is to build their UPS units around 2 different standard battery sizes to keep the replacement costs down. APC seems to have a different size battery in each of their UPS units. I am very happy with the performance of the unit. After turning it on and plugging in all my equipment, I found I was only using 45% of the 850VA. That is very nice to know.

5 of 5 Works as advertised Monday, April 07, 2008

I have been using it now for about a month and it works great. The cool feature is that it tells you how much time you have left on the charge depending on what you have plugged in. I like it for the money.

5 of 5 Need Protection? Saturday, March 29, 2008
Bob-D from Chambersburg, PA
I wanted to wait a while before posting this review so I had some time to play with this thing. I haven't had a power outage yet, but I've pulled the plug and waited a good bit before plugging it back in. I bought two at the same time for two different computers. These two replaced ONE (1) single 350V UPS. Talk about upgrading, eh? While they aren't real cheap, these puppies definately do their jobs. They supply clean power and give warning of power outage and maintain their own power for a good, long time according to the load of course. I'd say this is definately a good consumer choice.

5 of 5 Sleek, cheap, seems to work Monday, March 24, 2008
akom from NJ
Pros: works, small, nice looking, features are useful (eg KW/H meter), adequate outlets, simple interface. Cons: Last time I shorted out a nearby circuit (different breaker), one of my two servers rebooted. However, on the UPS are: two Athlon XP1800 servers plus cable modem, router, switch,ATA. When I pull the plug, the equipment continues to run. Notes: I have not tested USB as I don't care enough to.

5 of 5 Cyberpower benefits Tuesday, March 04, 2008
joe from Wall, NJ
Our company recently switched it soure of UPS equipment. We now sell and install CYBERPOWER ups's. We have realized a big cost difference while using CYBERPOWER. The cost is lower than comparible units, and there are also many advantages when using Cyberpower. We have been installing about 30 units a month, and have not had any problems procuring and using these units. They also include a LCD which can be used to monitor the unit, along with software which uses a USB interface to report current conditions of the line and equipment. I would highly recommend Cyberpower for your UPS needs.

5 of 5 Best UPS I ever owned Tuesday, February 26, 2008
Howard from Rock Hill SC
This small, but powerful UPS weighs less than any UPS I have ever owned, but provides enough power to keep my two desktop PC's running in the event of a power outage. The well lit LCD on the front of the UPS provides a wealth of information and CyberPower also provides the monitoring software to give the user any information about the UPS that he needs. Featuring both USB and serial ports on rear of the unit provide communication to the PC to enable it to be shut down in the event of a power failure.

5 of 5 love it Friday, December 21, 2007
John from Chicago, IL
I purchased two of these units when they were on sale for about **** each with free shipping and I am very happy with them for several reasons. I purchased these for my computer system and entertainment system as opposed to spending the same money on a higher quality surge protector. The UPS is pretty compact. It will fit nicely in a cabinet, under a desk, or in an entertainment center without taking up a ton of room. The UPS is also ascetically pleasing and professional looking. The power button and LCD screen have cool blue back lighting as opposed to plain ugly red or yellow LEDs. The power button illuminates when on and is black when off (obviously). The LCD back light stays on for a few seconds (maybe 10ish?, I didn't count) when you press the display button. Pressing the display button repeatedly shows different information about the power levels including (but not limited to) run time, battery charge, and voltage information. When the power does go out, it has a soft beep, not a loud screeching apocalyptic alarm. The unit features built in power surge and line conditioning, which is really the only reason for me purchasing them, but the UPS is also nice :). The UPS feature is seamless with power glitches. The unit I have on my entertainment system will run about 5mins with all my equipment connected and powered on which includes 42" HDTV LCD, 2 dvd players, receiver, and powered bass speaker. My unit on my computer will run I believe the same amount (or more) with my desktop, dual 20" LCDs, printer, and hub connected to it, which is more then enough time to do a soft shutdown. I have not yet installed the included software, so I cannot comment on that. So overall as a budget level UPS, I would deff recommend this. I think comparing the benefits of this to a surge protector of the same cost, I feel this is a better bargain. Even at its current price at the time of this writing ($105.24), I would still get it.

5 of 5 CP850AVRLCD Battery? Monday, December 17, 2007
A Customer from Atlanta, GA
Whoever owns this unit, can you please post what type it is in this unit? What aggrivates me when they sell these units, they never put in the specs what the replacement battery is or the cost for it. At least with APC, you can figure it out easily.

5 of 5 Great UPS Thursday, December 13, 2007
ladynita from Mobile AL
This UPS has everything you need - function, ease of use, and it looks good. This one in fact is my second one - I also have the larger 1285 VA version for my main system components (including a 42" lcd). This smaller one is for all the other peripherals - printer, all-in-one scanner/copier/fax, telephone base, router, etc. I like the looks and function and software of the Cyberpower units better than the APC versions that these replace. The only thing all of these units need to offer is both RJ45 and RJ11 ports - you only get one set thus you have to choose which to protect - the router or the fax.

5 of 5 Cyberpower UPS a good buy Tuesday, December 11, 2007
A Customer from Punta Gorda, FL
This is my third Cyberpower LCD UPS. One smaller, one larger. All three have excellent features and are well made. I especially like the LCD panel and the software that installs on the computers. The prices paid at buy.com were the lowest around too.

5 of 5 Seems to work well Friday, December 07, 2007
Larry from Olive Branch, MS
Well, I haven't had the opportunity to "use" it yet but it seems to be great for hooking my pc, scanner, printer, etc. My only complaint is that the outlets are a little too close together to plug in the mini transformer plugs.

5 of 5 It does what it says. Wednesday, November 28, 2007
Jason from Pullman, WA
I bought this product because for some reason I live in an area which has frequent power surges and I lose power on. I was tired of losing data on my computer which I was in the middle of and I also wanted to protect my computer. For me, this was a perfect choice. Because even if I lose power for a long period of time, the computer will safely shut down, retaining my information enabling me to resume where I left off.

5 of 5 Perfect! Wednesday, November 28, 2007
odawg from San Diego, CA
My Fedora 7 server recognized this from the USB port. My main concern was that the CD included has drivers only for Windows. But Fedora detected it immediately from the USB connection...minimal configuration on my end. I tested a power-outage and Fedora shutdown automatically when the UPS battery was low. The UPS is ultra quiet also and I like having the blue LCD there.

5 of 5 Great Product Sunday, September 23, 2007
Dave from Annapolis Maryland
Great price and free shipping from Buy.com. The packing of the box could have been better but was delivered fine just the same...fully charged and ready. I replaced a low end Belkin and wanted the Cyberpower with AVR and phone and cable connections. I will say with the power panel software you really don't need the LCD panel. Remember buyers, we all probably are buying too much UPS for our needs. Look at features like phone and cable connections more than how many watts the thing will handle or LCD panels. If you're using a UPS for your TV system then the LCD panel comes in VERY handy as you don't have a computer to run the powerpanel software. With my standard Dell computer and 19 inch LCD, DSL modem and D-link wireless router connected,I get almost 30 minutes of run time with the 510 watt Cyberpower UPS. One thing I will say the Belkin power management software (bulldog) was a a lot more complete and actually closed software before shutting down the computer (along with many more features). Powerpanel software just puts your computer in Hybernaton mode but does the job. Cyperpower UPS has a softer "beep" when power is lost. The Belkin was so loud you could not be in the same room. I like the rear power connectors on the Cyberpower....great unit.
