Nokia BH-501 Bluetooth Stereo Headset

Pros: These headphones sound GREAT with a decent range of audio and it uses the same style of mini-Nokia power adapter that most of my other Nokia products use (such as the Nokia N800 for which I had purchased this to use). Except for the silicone-plastic notch that fits over your ear, which can be uncomfortable after some period of time, it's otherwise pretty comfortable and the microphone picks up sound surprisingly well. Cons: But, and this is a VERY BIG BUT, I should have done more research on these headphones before I purchased them. There are reports on forums that I'm not the only one that experienced easy breakage with them within the first two weeks of owning them and Nokia provided poor support when I called them.. telling me that I could get a deal on the original price.. which ended up being MUCH more than I'd paid for them, even after that discount and they otherwise told me that I could, effectively, take a gamble and send them to Nokia and if they deem it to be a manufacturing problem (which it's more of a design flaw), they would consider replacing it. I'm not very satisfied with either the design nor the customer support. To explain the flaw: They fold for convenient storage and to sit them well on a desk during charging but at the thinnest point between the handband and where you apply pressure on the phones to open them, the plastic easily crumbles apart. The plastic appears to be thin and somewhat flexible but just brittle enough to crack apart and dangle the phones by the cord off the band. Summary: If it wasn't for this particularly fatal flaw, I would otherwise have probably rated them a 4 out of 5 in every regard except perhaps long-wear comfort where it might warrant a 3 out of 5. If you DO purchase these, I would recommend against folding them up or at least being delicate with them.

Overall I think this is a good product and substantially less expensive then the other pair of bluetooth headphones I own. I was under the impression that there were controls on the headphones, but it is only volume control, not fast forward or rewind.

Overall i would say that i am satisfied with this product all though it does not seem to have as many features as comparable products. It is easy to use and sounds decent for what it is.

My wife wanted to listen to song lists while working around the house, and without wires. This product does a decent job. It has good sound, although there is some cutting out. It was easy to set up, although the controls are hard to learn to where you can operate easily. Setting it up each time you want to use them takes longer that I think it should, but that may be the technology. You can use it for phone calls, but I wouldn't depend on it like I do my Jawbone to have crystal clear discussions for business.

My wife uses these headphones to listen to music from her phone while she works out. Her only complaint is that they are a bit heavy, so her ears start to hurt if she runs very long. The battery life is great we use them for about a week at a time between charges. I use them with my macbook and have no issues. If you are using these to work out you might want to look for some lighter headphones, although the battery will probably be heavy in all bluetooth headphones.

I'm very please with this product. I bought it primarily for listen to music with my Blackjack II. Sound quality when listening to music is rather decent. In call quality is good as well, calls are very clear. The only thing that bothers me is after wearing these for a while they tend to feel unomfortable. But usually with some sliight movement/adjustment its better for a while. Although it would have been nice for the rubber that rests on the ears to be a little more comforting. Other than that, for my uses, and this price compared to other more expensive sets, its great.

I got the Nokia BH-501 and charged them just like it said in the instructions. When they were charged, I listened to music til the batteries were dead. Great! The next day I tried to use them as a handsfree... :( I could hear the person talking, but they could not hear me. After some research, they would not pair with my phone as a handsfree device, just bluetooth audio. Disappointing. I'm returning them. BTW my phone was a Sony Ericsson W580i. The problem may have been the different brands.

Connected to my LG phone perfectly and works great. The sound is comparable to a set that I paid much more for at Radio shack (neither are outstanding), but good enough for walking or cutting the grass. Controls are easy and it is comfortable on your head.

Simple to handle.. good reception. I was able to connect to my Lenovo notebook, sony ericsson and nokia mobiles.. I could actually walk up to 10ft and use it without any signal interruptions, except lenovo had some trouble at that distance.. but mobile phones didnot have a problem.. The stereo was good.

Got them yesterday. Bought them due to the sale at Buy.com. They are really light weight and comfortable. Snug fiy. Good sound quality. Ease of use and pairing. Couldn't much test the mic, but seems good. Over all a very nice product. Would definitely recommend it.
