5 of 5 What a monitor!! Everything it's supposed to be a Monday, August 11, 2008 A Customer from florida
Awesome monitor. The adjustable stand is perfect. The monitor is beautiful, looks great, no dead pixels, very bright (and easily adjustable) I actually turned it down to 60%. The view angle is great I read the reviews but i do not see any problem. I can sit and stand and the monitor looks great both ways. Highly recommended. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great Monitor! Thursday, August 07, 2008 A Customer from Moore, Oklahoma
This is a very nice LCD. I bought it new and set it up right out of the box. Very easy and straight forward. It is very bright, you won't have any problem getting it bright enough. It has ran for about 2 weeks solid only off for a few minutes at a time, and it is running bright and cool. It doesn't get hot. I can't think of any reason not to purchase one of these. I do ton's of audio production, cubase, sound forge, etc, and voice over jingles, and this widescreen is the only way to go. Wav files are simply giant and editing is sooo much easier, and fun! I also do video production, and cannot find any drawbacks using this monitor. You can simply see better! If you looking at this monitor, buy it. I thought about a cheaper 22", but I'm very glad I bought this one.
Also, Buy.com was fantastic to buy from. I live in Okla, they shipped from Tx - Had it the next day, on a Sat of all things! Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 One great monitor! Wednesday, May 07, 2008 A Customer from Montgomery, Alabama
I am totally satisfied with this monitor! I especially like the MagicBright3 feature. I regularly change the settings depending on what I'm doing on my computer, and the ease of changing the brightness and look at the touch of a button is great! One of the best investments I've made. 5 of 5 Outstanding quality in its class Sunday, March 16, 2008 DS from Arlington, VA
I'm using it with a PowerMac G5 for print and video and am quite happy with the quality and performance. Some tweaking of the brightness and contrast were needed, but you were going to do that anyways. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Excellent deal, Best screen from Buy.com Saturday, March 15, 2008 Vinod.Paspuleti from Livingston, NJ
Very good price with Rebate from Buy.com, First I thought 24 Inch Screen will be very huge on my desk. After using it, I love it, it is crystal clear text with good graphics display. Samsung 245BW 24" screen the best. I don't have to scroll much with screen. Was this review helpful?
2 of 5 Wacky color Monday, March 10, 2008 mike from saint augustine florida
I've been using the 245BW for a week or so now. I run both a Mac and a PC in.
I'm not so happy with this monitor because the color is all wacky. Seems like the monitor doesn't "remember" the settings I used. For example, I spent an hour or so tweaking the brightness and gamma and so on on the monitor controls directly (hardware side) and through the Mac's monitor calibration tools (software side), and the PC's (nVidea) calibration software.
I had everything set up cool, but once I shut down the systems, or when the energy saver kicks in, it seems like all the calibration on the hardware side go away.
I'm rather frustrated because the colors always seem to revert back to some soft of default.
There's all these "magic color" and "dynamic contrast" settings on the monitor.... this only tells me that they are aware of the deficiencies of the color management and included these controls to compensate.
I'm going to see if I can return the monitor... it is not suitable to use 8 hours a day... especially if you're doing profession work dependant on color! Was this review helpful?

I own two of these monitors. I am a software product designer and run both at 1920 x 1200 allowing me to work side-by-side with applications improving my productivity tremendously. I am particularly impressed by the sharpness of the display compared to other LCD monitors I own. Highly recommended even though they are still a bit of a premium. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Fantastic Deal Friday, January 04, 2008 ken.petrones from Overland Park, KS
A VERY impressive monitor. I would recommend this to anyone that spends alot of time on their PC. I do not edit photos so I can't comment on anything other than the physical appearance of pictures and videos and in that respect this monitor is phenomenal! No dead pixel's and I've got the brightness set at 50%. I use dual screens and have a 19" Hanns-G next to it and the contrast is very noticeable with the Hanns-G whites looking grayish and washed out.
It's tough buying a montor online, sight unseen but I'm guessing you will love this unit! Was this review helpful?

I had to adjust the settings as I expected. As far as your video card goes, you may want to look up its specs. prior to this purchase. That's just common sense. I have never had a problem with buy.com. Excellent service. Was this review helpful?

This is an awesome monitor for all uses. It's super bright, clear, and had no dead pixels. The only small issue I have is with the color calibration software. It's very difficult to make it look correct without a color calibration tool. However, setting it on default values looks spectacular. Very good for gaming and office applications alike. 5 of 5 Great Value Monday, December 10, 2007 Dawn from Exton, PA
I looked carefully at cost versus performmance for a 24" monitor. Based on the models I looked at from all of the major manufacturers, the Samsung was the best value. Installation was very simple, and the performance is excellent. I was transitioning from a 21" CRT to the new 24" TFT wide screen format, and I am very happy with the results. 5 of 5 Best 24" LCD? Almost there. Thursday, November 29, 2007 A Customer from Irvine, CA
I've been lucky enough to work with the Apple Cinema 23", Dell 24", and now this Samsung. What first got me was the price and the brand name, but don't let that fool you. All three of these monitors have very different methods of displaying color. I think in terms of color reproduction, the Dell is on top, but the Samsung is great when it comes to watching videos because the contrast ratio is a pretty high. If you're looking for a sweet 24" monitor to be sitting on your desk to watch videos and play games, this is it. If you're looking to do photo/graphics work, I'd definitely consider paying a little bit more and getting something with closer to print color reproduction. Was this review helpful?

Bought one around Christmas last year, and its been the best computer product I had ever purchased.
This LCD has everything in it, and the quality is without par. I'm a gamer, and the response time on this LCD is astonishing at 1920x1200. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 praise galore for my 24.... Thursday, September 27, 2007 Drew from Chicago, Illinois
big, bright, and beautiful. love it, love it, love it. Some folks say it's too bright; it's perfect for me, and you can always dial it down a bit. Always have been very happy with Samsung monitors. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Excellect buy Tuesday, September 25, 2007 A Customer from Grayson, GA
I bought two of these 24" wide screen monitors for a dual setup. Picture is terrific and the setup software was a breeze. These also come with a rugged HDMI cable. My only problem now is a tired neck looking from the left edge to the right edge of these two monsters :) Was this review helpful?

overall quality and price are great for this monitor, but the resolution needs to be 1920 x 1200 for images and sites to not 'stretch' and look normal. i have an hp pavilion computer from '05, and the factory installed video card didn't have high enough resolution (max 1600 x 1200) so had to purchase an additional video card ($65) to support this monitor. just know that before making the purchase - you could be required to update your computer's video card. you have to take the computer apart to install, but not a big deal. also have to check if you have correct system requirements (PCI or AGP slots) and enough power & memory.
not a dealbreaker but wish i would've known before making the purchase. Was this review helpful?
3 of 8 customers found this review helpful. 3 of 5 Mixed review Thursday, July 26, 2007 Stanley Siu from New Jersey
As said in the last review, the monitor is too bright and too washed-out out of the box. So bright that it hurts your eyes. The text is pixalated, not sharp. MagicBright and MagicXXX stuffs are just gimmicks.
It is frustrated to me as I need to do spend time on some serious calibrations in order to make it viewable.
I have a MacBook Pro and iMac, their LCD display are spot on without any calibration for a non-graphical professional.
By the way, the service from Buy.com is excellent. Super quick delivery even for Free shipping.

The monitor out of the box was too bright, and too washed out. I'm using this with a Mac Pro, but lowering the contrast/brightness and changing the color profile to Wide Gamut RGB made it a lot better. Then using the Spyder2 calibrater made it absolutely fantastic. The off axis viewing does shift a little bit, but nothing too big to cause annoyance and I'm very picky. I have a Dell 2405 as well and this is as good with a little more even colored backlighting. No dead pixels. Overall I'm very pleased with this purchase especially for the price. The adjustability is nice and the monitor itself is a nice looking unit. For the price you can't go wrong with this 24" monitor. Was this review helpful?
